This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at Phillips Hotel, Room 115, Dayton, Ohio, this 9th day of April, 1924, in accordance with request made by self - [4151].

1. EC: (In undertone after going back over years to birth date:) 1,673 people born in Chicago in January 7, 1878.

2. Yes, we have the body here, and those conditions surrounding same by which the destiny, so far as the astrological conditions are concerned, irrespective of the will forces, which have been manifest many times in the present condition and plane, and two; yea, three to its own detriment in the present earth plane’s development.

3. As to the completion of the present entity, we find this was completed in the early evening, and the ruling force and the planet from which this soul and spirit took its flight was from that of Mars, with the influences of Neptune, Venus (over which it is ridden much), Jupiter in the 9th house, with afflictions of Saturn and the genii [Gemini?] being with contradictory influences of the Moon and Sun, for with the sign in Aquarius, and with the changes of Moon and Sun, with earth’s influence coming to the present plane, we find these afflictions come when the Saturn’s influence is in either the Moon or Sun’s sign of the entity, when not assisted in Jupiter or Mercury forces. Hence we find in the plane’s existence at present the inner desire of the body often to seek the things of the earth’s production, both in mineral, animal and vegetable kingdoms, and one prone to speculate in same when in the Mercury sign with Mars, and with the present forces being exhibited in the earth’s plane will in the present year bring much of the corruptible goods of the earth into this entity’s scope and plane, with larger financial gains. Use these well, else they will be to the destruction of the soul and spirit elements. This will happen in the late summer or early fall, between August 20th and September 22nd.

4. In the influences then as these conditions have and do bring in the present plane, without reference to will:

5. One prone to give way to fits of temper, yet governing same oftentimes.

6. One prone to resort to drastic means to gain its purpose, and desiring to resort to the use of firearms or force. In this phase we find this tempered often by the genii [Gemini?] influence in the Sun.

7. One that brings much pleasure to those in Venus, and in the Pisces sign, yet one who becomes radical in the views regarding those of the Venus influence, or one radical in love and affection, often bestowing same where it is not returned. Again neglecting that it should give.

8. One whose forces in the present sphere lie in its ability to give of the forces of self in the application of those of the nature that builds to those things where minutia and detail is necessary, for with Neptune’s influence many things under these hands, seemingly, turn into the correct channel through unseen forces. This also often tempering the Mars influence in Saturn when the inclination is to be radical.

9. One whose influence among men, when tempered, is good.

11. In that of the will as applied with these inclinations as given, there have been instances when will has been used in improper manner. These are specific, and are known to this entity, and is his own private experiences, not known to all.

12. In appearances, we find these have been in the way and force that has brought much change in the entity as a whole.

In the plane before this we find in that of the reign of the common people in the Isles, and the forces then were in connection with some of those whom the entity is at present surrounded, for this entity then was in the rank and file of the soldier, known then as Enoch Oswald. In the entity’s personality from this plane, we find that brought forward of the ready to command and obey command of superiors, yet questioning afterward as is brought forward from the plane before this, which was in the Grecian forces, when the rule was divided, and the study of the human element and resistance was at its height, and in that plane we find the entity in that of one in the reign of the ruler, as is found in Poxian, and the personality as exhibited, as is given; the reasoning of the entity going deep into minutia of every phase of a subject, and in the one before this we find in the land of the Isles that now lie far in the South, in the Australian forces, and then we find in the country where the Bushmen were first met by the peoples that came from the land of the Atlantis, and the entity’s forces as now manifest is stature, and the rule as is exhibited in the present life.

“FOSSIL FOOTPRINTS, 350 MILLION YEARS OLD, COULD PROVE AUSTRALIA TO BE EARTH’S OLDEST CONTINENT”

THE WORLD has long recognised Australia as one of earth’s oldest continents. At least, as one of the continents that has been sticking out of the sea the longest. For about 1,500 million years, in the case of Centralia’s now worn down mountain ranges. Once these peaks towered over 15,000 feet, almost as high as today’s Himalayas.

But parts of another island continent, Greenland, have been found to contain rocks 3,000 million years old. This fact emerged only a few years ago and somewhat eroded our long-standing claim to fame in the field of geological antiquity.

Now we’re back in the running, with the recent discovery of what may prove to be the world’s oldest known fossil footprints. These faint impressions in rock on the bank of the Genoa river were found by scientists last month. The tracks are thought to have been made by some sort of amphibious creature about the size of a goanna - 350 million years ago!

The age of the fossil footprints hasn’t been proved yet. The rocks in which they are embedded were flown out by helicopter from the fastness of the East Gippsland high country to be examined under laboratory conditions. When the scientists complete their tests, we’ll know if we have something new to boast about.

It’s all rather embarrassing for other scientists, because they’ve been saying for years that no such animal as the one that left its footprints beside the Genoa river ever existed in Australia.

East Gippsland may hold some more geological and archaeological secrets. Local legend has it that approximately on the border between NSW and Victoria, somewhere north of Mallacoota Inlet, stand man-made stone walls of great antiquity. Strangely carved they are said to be far older than anything built since the coming of the white man or Aborigines to Australia.

I’ve been invited to look at these “walls”, which may of course turn out to be natural formations. But I’ve put off the trip for the last six years, mainly because a 13-mile bush-bash on foot through mountainous country is required to gaze upon these ancient works of man or nature.

Which reminds me that a couple of years back I found what appeared to be very old stone walls right on the edge of the Indian Ocean, near Cape Keraudren, on our north-west coast. This was the proposed site of an iron port to be blasted out with nuclear explosions. The walls were so eroded, it was possible to walk past and over them without realising they were in fact man-made.

But seen from certain angles, with the sun low on the horizon, there was no doubt about their origin. Right on the water’s edge was a wave-splashed stone jetty, although barely recognisable.

Who built this ancient port? My guess is that it is far older than anything built since Europeans settled our northwest coast last century. I’ve visited the ruins of the first recorded port on our northwest coast, at Point Samson, established in the 1880s. The stone jetties and customs house are eroded but they appear to have been built yesterday in comparison with the crumbling, barely recognisable ruins at Cape Keraudren.

Judged against the minor wear and tear at Point Samson, built roughly a century ago, Cape Keraudren’s walls must date back to the time of the Pyramids. Sea traders from the Arab countries known to have reached south-east Asia and the islands of Indonesia more than 1,000 years ago. Perhaps they built the now barely recognisable port on our north-west coast?

Judging from the way geographers are re-writing the geological history of the world, based on recent fossil footprint and other discoveries, archaeologists may have to do the same with the human history of Australia. Only a decade ago, it was accepted that the first people to live on our continent were the Aborigines. They were thought to have arrived 16,000 years ago.

New archaeological finds pushed this figure back to 40,000 years.

Very recently, scientists have decided that rock carvings in Tasmania and central Australia were made by people who lived here 100,000 years ago. Where they came from, the experts won’t say until they think they’re sure - and recent events have proved that scientists can be as wrong.

The voyage of the raft la Balsa from South America showed that settlers could have reached Australia from that country. Arab and Egyptian traders may have done some colonising from the other direction. There is strong evidence that Chinese sailors landed on our northern coast 2,000 years ago.

Who knows from what other directions early visitors to our continent arrived? A popular and certainly not disproved theory is that travellers could have visited here from outer space!

I don’t support this theory. Nor do I laugh at it. Only fully qualified “expert” would have the temerity to do that. So many accepted scientific “facts” about earth’s early history have been found wrong lately, it seems prudent to keep a very open mind on what happened, or may have happened, back in the “dawn of time.”
