This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce this 4th day of November, 1922, in Birmingham, Alabama, at the Tutwiler Hotel, according to request of Mr. [4186] himself.

1. FEM: Now, Mr. Cayce, you are going to sleep. (Pause) Now, Mr. Cayce, you are asleep, and all the organs of your body will function properly. You will hear me and answer all of my questions. You have before you this afternoon the body of [4186], … Ave., …, Alabama. Now, Mr. Cayce, I want you to go over this body that you have before you from head to foot, and examine the body carefully, aud tell me of all the ailments or disorders that you may find within the body, and then tell me what will cure or relieve the body from the conditions that you find. [4186] … Ave., …, Alabama, present in this room.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here. Now, the abnormal conditions as we find them in this body have to do principally with the nervous system. Now, these are the conditions as we find them in this body, - [4186] we are speaking of. There has been within this body an accident to the physical body itself, that with the fear of the condition that will bring this body to the end of justice, if done to the body that which would be justice to the body, until the weight of this on the mind has affected the whole nervous system. The accident we see has impinged the centers about the 3rd lumbar, and the condition affecting the organs of the pelvis to some extent, so we have at times this condition as we have through the action of the kidneys, and they in their functioning leave certain elements in the system to be absorbed, causing the uremic poisoning in the system, and it shows mostly at present in the capillary circulation, with the reflection this gives to the nervous system. It brings with this fear, a hallucination that comes to this body, hence the outward appearance - the action of this individual as it gives towards other persons. The organs of the system themselves function normally for the condition existing. They affect only those at times, only those that at times show through their individual action, such as we have with loss of appetite, the inability of the body to correlate incidents or happenings, and the fear of detection comes to the self more than as is the impression is carried to the brain centers, and acts on the body. The body is near to becoming in a state of dementia, which if allowed to go on will mean the destruction of the physical brain action of the mental and moral forces of this body. Not so much of physical action, but of the mental and moral forces.

3. To relieve, or to give the proper incentives to the body, to remove this condition, must come through a two-fold treatment; that of medicinal properties in the system to give correct incentives to the body in its circulation and functioning proclivities, and also a correction of the physical defects at the 3rd lumbar by manipulation or adjustment. The medicinal properties we would take into this system would be these:

Tincture of Valerian…3 ounces, Bromide of Potash, or Potassium…1/2 ounce, Elixir of Calisaya…2 ounces.

Sufficient simple syrup to make 7 ounces. The dose would be tablespoonful every 2 hours while the body is in this nervous state or tension, as it shows at present. One tablespoonful at night just before retiring at other times.

4. With the adjustments should go the expression of suggestion of a normal condition coming to this body. Do this as we have given if we would save this body from a physical and mental wreck. This should, with the proper adjustments, and with consistent suggestion along the lines as we have given, with the consistent use of the medicinal properties taken into the system, restore to this body within 2 moons its normal condition and station in life.

5. We are through.

6. Now, Mr. Cayce, you will forget all about this reading you have just given. You are feeling fine and all right, and all the organs of your body will function properly. Now, wake up in two minutes just feeling fine and all right, and absolutely free from headache.
