This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the Tutwiler Hotel, Birmingham, Alabama, this 10th day of January, 1923.

[Edgar Cayce; (?), Conductor; (?), Steno.]

Time of Reading 3:00 P. M. …, Alabama.

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here. Now, the abnormal conditions, as we find, that need correction, have to do with the specific condition in the body, and my be corrected easily, if correctly done, see.

  2. The effect that his produces over the body, at times, needs the greater correction.

  3. Now these are conditions as we find in this body. The body is very good throughout. The blood supply has become changed somewhat from its normal flow and conditions by the effects of the properties taken in the system, and by the condition itself.

  4. The nerve forces in the body, we find, are overtaxed, at times. The brain forces, as we find, are overtaxed by the rush of blood forces to the brain by the specific condition existing, which is at the first cervical vertebra. We would find the cross where, with over-taxation, over-heat, over-congestion, or any unusual effect to the sensory system, allows the discord between the cerebro-spinal and the other centers, that is the sympathetic and sensory in their entrance to the brain.

  5. To correct this lesion, as is of, or at, the first and second cervical, by either heat and adjustment or by cold and adjustment. Each will bring the conditions necessary to make the correct adjustment for this body. We will then prevent the abnormal flow of nerve force accompanying the blood conditions producing the contraction and congestion over the system. Do that.

  6. (Q) How should this heat be applied? (A) Locally.

  7. (Q) Should the adjustment be made by an osteopath? (A) Better by a chiropractor - as made by Sargent [Andrew C. Sargent, D.C.] [Seargent?].

  8. (Q) Where can Sargent be found? (A) Hopkinsville, Ky.

  9. (Q) Should the body go to Hopkinsville for treatment? (A) We have given that; go there or bring Sargent here.

No medicinal properties are needed in the body until afterward; only salines then.

Make these adjustments here at the first cervical.
