This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 322 Grafton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, this 23rd day of September, 1924, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [4233] via Mr. Ralph M. Taylor.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will give the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

2. EC: Now we find there are many abnormal conditions in this body. They have to do with conditions that have existed in times back, and the effect this condition has produced in the nerve centers and tissue as governs the locomotion, especially in the right portion of the body. Hence we find the sympathetic nerve system especially involved in the condition caused by dorsal impingements, and with the disturbance by the bacilli as was carried in the system produced about centers that form of lesion that prevented the nerve reaction in these portions of the body as are affected at present. These conditions may be removed and the body greatly benefited and brought almost to its normal condition. We will find there will be retractions and times when the body will suffer some pain or distress from the retraction. Necessary, however, with conditions that this be done without taking medicinal properties internally, for the heart’s action has become involved in condition, and the reactions must be brought through normal channels without this reaction in the body. Then of necessity this will be the condition to give the best results. Will take some time but this must be adhered to persistently, consistently and in every detail.

3. Now these are conditions as we find them in this body, Mrs. [4233], Chicago, Ill., 1st Apt.

4. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find under the strain that this has been put first by the presence of bacilli that was destructive to the white blood and lymphatic circulation, and with the increase of this portion, or element of blood, the strain on the red blood supply becomes active in the body; that is, this portion reduced at the expense of the whole system. Temperature had a great deal to do with the condition. Then with the impingements that we had in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th dorsal, and the condition existing at the time in the upper lumbar region, the body suddenly through the congestion, and the system attempting to ward off conditions, produced the lesions in these regions and brought about the taxing of the right side to produce the paralysis or non-use of this portion of the body. With the reactions as have taken place this has left the blood supply in somewhat better condition, yet not with the impingement and the lesion of this character has the system been able to eliminate these conditions in the body.

5. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, in these conditions in dorsal and lumbar region, the impingements impair the circulation of the cerebro-spinal tissue and lymph, and the sympathetic becoming involved the lesions are produced from sympathetic rather than in the other system, though impinioned forces are in the cerebro-spinal nerve center and lesions, lateral, in sympathetic system. Hence the tissue, muscle and fibrous tissue have become involved. In the region of the upper dorsal this affects directly the sympathetic or the reflexes of the secondary cardiac, and this has taxed the heart’s action. Though no organic condition, it has produced an organic condition at present.

6. IN THE ORGANS OF THE BODY, all function under the strain of the condition, for with impaired circulation whole body suffers.

7. Then to bring the normal conditions to this body would be to apply in the proper manner those properties that will bring the enlivenment and the incentive for system to assimilate and to eliminate nearer normal, and producing an over elimination in body and distribute the manipulation so that the eliminations will be in their channels of eliminating forces in body. By the deep chiropractic adjustments correct the condition in the whole of the cerebro-spinal centers, especially in upper dorsal and first lumbars, though many others are involved and in every day apply those properties as found in Balsam of Sulphur, massaging these well in the centers of the cerebro-spinal system, in neck, arms, arm pits and even in the frontal portion of body, over the liver, along the hepatic circulation and in the groin, rubbing well into the body. The next rubbing well in the body oil, sweet or olive oil, and with this apply heat, that it may produce the absorbing and eliminating properly.

8. Then begin adjustments. That is, adjustments one day, massaging the properties in the system the next, the oil and heat the next, and the adjustments again, keeping all sympathetic system so, through intestinal tract, that eliminations will be properly thrown off from the system. Do this, with the manipulations or high enemas.

9. After these have been applied for some time, ten to twelve days, there may be added also those vibrations of the violet ray, which will assist the body in the retraction, and ease the body in the distress that will be brought by retraction.

10. Do that persistently, consistently, keeping the diet such as builds blood forces in the system. Those as would be found in meat or blood juices, with much vegetable matter, but none of the meats in bulk form.

11. Do that.

I am enclosing you a copy of the reading as gotten for Mrs. [4233] this morning. Sorry I couldn’t get this sooner, but was knocked out for about a week or ten days and unable to do any of the work.

I believe this will prove quite as satisfactory as many others have, if this is carried out.

Certainly be very glad to hear from you from time to time, and I thank you for your interest in the individual and in myself also.

Enclosed please find card from Mrs. [4233] reading. Arrangements have been made for Dr. Saxman [Robert B. Saxmann, D.C.] to handle her case. I will let you know in the course of two or three weeks how she is responding to these treatments. The reading in itself describes her case quite fully and is regarded as highly satisfactory.

My dear Mr. Cayce:-

Not so long ago I mentioned during an evening conversation with some friends the many good things you had done and were still doing for humanity, and as a result of this rather brief statement a request has been made for a reading on the physical condition and process to be employed in restoring the health and the body of Mrs. [4233]. I am acquainted with this lady and know that she has tried very hard to get well most everything in the way of medical attention has been secured but unfortunately no appreciable response was forthcoming. She has asked Mrs. Taylor if I would write you about a reading and she has given her $15.00 which I am sending you herewith. I appreciate your charge is usually a little more but in this case its all she can afford. I trust you will find it convenient to gratify the request in this instance.

Name - Mrs. [4233] Residence - …, Chicago Any time is convenient for she is unable to leave the apartment.

About five years ago she suffered an attack of the flu - that later caused a partial paralysis of the right side. Heart action affected, etc. If further information is desired please write me and I wish that you would mail the reading to me and I will have it taken out to her, mailing either to her in my care or direct to me, Room 308 - 427 S. LaSalle St.

I have not sold the lot yet that we talked about when you were in Chicago but I hope to this month. Had rather expected we might see you back in Chicago again, before this. Presume you have heard the oil well is now on its way drilling having started about a week ago, the last report being 575’. Here’s hoping we realize on it by October 15.
