This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 3rd day of October, 1927, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [4241], via her brother, Mr. [71].

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time, giving the cause of the existing conditions; also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

2. EC: Now, we have the body here, and we find there are those conditions, were they corrected, would give better functioning of the organs throughout the body - while there are many conditions that are very good, and the body responds in a way and manner that shows that much vitality exists in the physical organism of the body.

3. Now, these are the conditions as WE find them with the physical forces of the body:

4. The BLOOD SUPPLY shows there is lack of full eliminations in the system, while the assimilation is good most of the time and the digestive system only occasionally gives disturbing forces. This is rather of a reflex than of a direct condition, produced by disturbances that form reflexes through the system.

5. In the NERVE SYSTEM we find the greater seat or cause of the troubles in the body, through the effects as are created in the system have more the appearance of functional conditions. The CAUSE of this is from subligations as exist in the cerebro-spinal system. While adjustments have assisted in a manner, the corrections made more properly, through the following out of the muscle and nerve ends in their relations TO the organs, will give a different response to the body, and will find that those conditions as have caused trouble through the respiratory system will be overcome, as WILL be those of the eliminations as are hindered by the LOCOMOTORY effects as are produced in system by the pressure as exists in the lumbar and lower dorsal region. Hence the condition as exists in the lower extremities at times.

6. WITH this manipulation (which should be OSTEOPATHICALLY given) use the Double X Radium Appliance for the equalization of conditions in the system. In the use of this, do not use one without the other. Do not take alone the adjustments and not use the appliance. Do not use the appliance and not have adjustments made - but with the following out of the nerve ends to their centers and to their branches in the lower cervical; middle and central dorsal, and in the lower lumbar, we will find that - with the application of the Radium Appliance - we will bring more vitality, more reaction, and the better assuming of the normal forces for this body.

Dear Mr. Cayce,

The reading of my body received. You described my trouble very nicely. It is very nearly as stated in your reading. I have suffered with the back of my neck for more than 2 yrs. It seems to be in the muscles in the back of neck and running into my head. This probably is all caused from the condition of the body. Is very annoying as is rarely even entirely easy - or free from the annoying soreness. In regard to the Double X Radium Appliance you recommended me taking - do I understand this to be a belt worn around the body same as recommended by you to my brother […] and if that - is correct. Should I wear this all through the day and at night

• or how should I use it. Should I keep it on while taking the adjustments. I do not get from your reading just how I should use that. My brother said it was a belt to be worn same as his.

I also want to know how long you wish me to take the adjustments in connection with the Radium Appliance and how often should I take them. I have an osteopath [Martha Beard?] Dr. in the same building where I live in Hopkinsville, but I am compelled to spend a part of my time in Central City, Ky. Will it be all right to take the treatments for 2 weeks or more - or discontinue them for 10 days while I am there and then take up again. When I return here again it is my intention to take the treatment (as advised by you as near as possible) - I write this letter that you may explain the part of treatment that I didn’t exactly understand from your reading - that I may begin treatment as soon as possible. If the Radium Appliance is a belt suppose I will order it from the same place you advised my brother to buy.

You will please let me hear from you as early as possible and I shall begin the treatment - as suggested by you at once.

Dear Mrs. [4241]:

Replying to yours of the 9th, I’m glad to know that you found the reading very satisfactory, and I am sure if you will carry out the suggestions as are made you will get satisfactory results. I am enclosing an envelope with the address of the people from whom you may obtain the appliance. It is from the same people from whom your brother obtained his. The instructions, I think, will come with the pad. It is something within the nature of a belt, should be worn throughout the day, but you should recharge same at least once each day by taking it off and laying it in strong sunlight for a few minutes. Do not wear it of course when you’re taking your adjustments or treatments. I am sure the doctor will know better about whether it will be best for you to take two weeks’ treatments and then rest for the time you are away - but from what I get from the reading it would really be well for you to take the treatments - that is, the adjustments, every other day for the time that you are at home, and well to rest for the ten days and begin again when you return. Two such periods should be sufficient to set you aright, though I am sure you should wear the pad for at least ninety days, recharging same every day. It takes sunlight to recharge it - not artificial light.

I assure you, Mrs. [4241], it is our desire to be of help, and we are glad to try to explain any part of the information as gotten any time that we may. I’m in hopes you will let us hear from you as the treatments progress.

R3. 3/1/28 [4241]‘s letter to EC:

Dear Mr. Cayce,

I am writing you in regard to the Radium Pad you ask me to wear. I wore the pad 90 days and put it out as directed each day. If it did me any good at all I have not been able to detect it. Should this pad be put in the sun or air when not in use. I don’t know that I will ever use it again but it cost me so much money I thought I should take the proper care of it when not in use.

You will please notify me as to the proper way to care for it when not in use.

Mrs. [4241] Hopkinsville, Ky.

Dear Mrs. [4241]:

Replying to yours of the 1st, you are among the first who have ever said - where the pads were suggested for them - that they didn’t feel like the pads had been beneficial. I think you should have sent it back within the thirty days if you didn’t feel you were receiving some good results from same. When the pad is being worn, it should be put out in the strong light or sunlight for a few minutes each day. When it’s not in use it’s best for it to be put away. Possibly if these are suggested for some other individual I will be able to dispose of this for you if you desire that I do so. The probation from the company, I understand, lasts 30 days - but I would not give up wearing it, or you might try leaving it off for a few days, then put it back on and see if you don’t detect the difference - or, if you like, we’ll be glad to make another appointment and see what the readings have to say regarding your condition at this time. In that case, however, I would make out a list of questions respecting your condition to have asked at that time.

R5. 4/9/28 [4241]‘s letter to EC:

Dear Mr. Cayce

Your letter received some days since in regard to the Pad. You ask why I did not return it in 30 days as was guaranteed. You requested me to wear the pad for 90 days. That is why I did not return it. I was trying to use it as you requested. I will be very thankful to you indeed if you will dispose of the pad for me. Of course do not expect to get full price for it as I have used it, but I have taken good care of it. I put it in the sun or straight light every day while using it.

If I decide to take another reading later will let you know.

R6. 5/4/28 EC’s letter to [4241]:

My dear Mrs. [4241]:

Please pardon me for the delay in answering yours of the 9th. I have been unwell myself, and this is the first time I’ve been to my desk in two or three weeks. Glad to say that I’m feeling nearly normal again and am in hopes I’ll be able to keep things going now alright.

Now, I would offer this suggestion. If you would like, I will be glad to try and dispose of the pad for you, if you care to send it to me and let me remit to you whatever I am able to obtain for same. We suggest the use of these pads quite often, and if yours is in good shape (and I’m sure it is), why I see no reason why it would not be just as good as one sent direct from the factory. If you care to do this you can send it on, and we will dispose of it. Let us know what you would want, and we will be glad to do whatever we can.

Dear Mr. Cayce

Your letter in regard to selling the pad for me received and will be very thankful to you indeed. If you will dispose of it for me in regard to the price I [?] that with your feeling you will do the best for me you can - if you can get 1/2 price will be glad - if not get what you can out of it - whatever you do will be all right with me. I think it is in good condition. I am sending to you under separate cover.

My dear Mrs. [4241]:

I’m in receipt of yours of the 10th. The appliance came in a few days ago. I don’t know just when I will have the opportunity to dispose of this for you, but I feel we will be able to do so within the next few weeks. I will let you know just as soon as we are able to do this, and of course will get the best price for it that I can.

Dear Mr. Cayce

Your check received for the pad. I certainly thank you very much for disposing of the pad for me.

I assure you it was very kind of you. In regard to the address made by Dr. Brown at the dedication of your new building, I failed to receive it. I am only here one half of my time. It probably came in while I was away and was probably misplaced. I am sure it was very fine.

I trust your new building will prove a success in every way.
