This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 11th day of March, 1926, in accordance with request made by Mr. [779].

At the home of Mrs. Time of Reading […] on the … Rd., 11:25 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Alabama.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will diagnose the case thoroughly, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body. You will answer the questions regarding this body that I will ask you.

2. EC: Yes - Now, we find there are MANY abnormal conditions in this body, and from the pathological study of same there much might be gained into how the physical, spiritual and mental of the body, PHYSICAL, occupy that one and same body, and in how these function through the system. However, this, as we see, needs the attention of the psycho-therapist, for the physical, the mental, must both be considered in bringing any physical help to this body, for the hallucinations as come for the body to destroy self comes from that as is received through physical condition as has been brought to the body, through conditions that affect directly the nerve plasm in its attempt to rebuild incentives in cellular active force in system. Hence, the physical mental MIND of the body must be submerged, as the treatments are accorded the system. These, we see, have to do with the Littre (?) gland, or with the genetive system, and affects directly the pineal gland, and THESE, in their turn, affect (occasionally, when there is spasmodic reactions through the sympathetic system) the lacteal; that is, the digestive system (as is seen in the body, how it REFUSES conditions for help for self); also gives to the brain centers, in the glands, those improper reactions to that known in the physical sense as improper conduct, mode or act, see?

3. Then, such an one that is a psycho-therapist, or MECHANO and psycho-therapist, with the ability of manipulating at the same time, relieving the pressure in these various centers along the spine, would find the body would react with animal magnetism, see? also with the physical, spiritual and mental. Such an one as A. C. Layne, Griffin, Ga., see? treatments there, or by that individual, for the individual fully capable of directing the full; though he may give the psycho-analytical, and psycho-therapeutic, the physical may not be given by this entity; yet the treatments may be accorded the body while under the control of that body.

4. Then, we would suggest as this: Either through SUCH AN ONE receive conditions for the body - else very bad - three to six months.

Mrs. […] says that it will be impossible for her to take her sister to Griffin, Ga., so I can see the reading will not be much help to them. I ask Mrs. […] to send check direct to you, of which she promised she would. Kindly advise me if she done this, as I feel responsible that your get pay for it. Also advise me if the price she sent is satisfactory. If not I will stand the difference…”

R2. 3/26/26 EC’s ltr. to [779]: ”…No, I have not heard anything from Mrs. […]. I’m very sorry that she finds it impossible for her sister [4242] to get the treatments. Perhaps Mrs. Stone [Elise Stone, N.D.] could help out in this case. I would suggest that she show her the reading at least and see what she thinks about it…”

R3. 3/30/26 [779]‘s ltr. to EC: ”…I am much surprise at Mrs. […] in not sending anything for the work for her sister, [4242]. I shall not be satisfied until she do this, if she don’t I know I will, as I done this fully expecting her to do this. Anyway, in a short while I want to be sending something in on this…”

B1. 2/25/26 [779]‘s ltr. to EC: ”…I have a first cousin [4242] now at …, Ala. that is in a very very bad condition and has been for some time, but she has been living in Calif. for several years and just been back about 10 days. Her sister Mrs […] of … has her at her home now, she went to Los Angeles, Cal. to take her out of the hospital and the asylum and brought her home, so my mother just from …, today has told Mrs. […] about your work and what I thought of it, so Mrs. […] requested that I write you and ask that you please give a reading just as soon as possible, of which I hope you will soon do. Now I know this is a sure enough bad case, but I believe it can be helped at least we’ll know if there can be any hope. So I am going to do my best to see that this given as per reading as I know this is what I will call a test case, unless I am badly fooled. Please arrange to give reading [4242] (physical and mental) soon as you can arrange to do so. If you do not have time to advise me date of reading, please wire me date at my expense, and I shall call Mrs. […] and give her hour and date so that her sister be at her home. Please let me know a few hours before reading so I can have time to phone Mrs. […]. You will also please mail reading to me at … and I will take same over and help them out, at which time I shall collect for same and send you. Say by the way can you send me some of those request cards for reading that you send out to be signed? If so, send me a few as it can save time. I am sending enclose a few questions that will please be asked…”
