This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 15th day of April, 1926, in accordance with request made by Mr. M. B. Wyrick.

[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading 4:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Chicago, Ill.

  1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will diagnose the case thoroughly, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

  2. EC: Now, we find there are abnormal conditions that may be corrected in this body. These have to do with some specific conditions that have been of long standing, and have produced effects that must be met with, would the condition be made permanent. The cause also must be corrected.

  3. Now, these are conditions as we find them in this body. Outwardly, or from normal appearance, conditions do not appear so bad, except when exaggerated.

  4. First, then:

  5. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find abnormal in its pressure, in its elements and constituents, and the effect as is produced by this condition, in the various systems of the functioning organs, cause much distress. Especially is this true in the eliminating organs. Hence, liver and kidneys each suffer in their cycle of functioning, in a very specific way and manner.

  6. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, this has in times back been so overcome that in some respects it may be termed as one without nerves, or one not able or capable of controlling nerves. Hence a form of neurotic condition exists, though many centers and ganglias are involved, in both the cerebro-spinal and sympathetic nerve systems.

  7. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, these all show the distress under which the system has labored, both by the specific distresses in the pelvic organs and in the effect as is produced over various portions of the system. Especially is this true in the spleen, pancreas, and the mesenteric system, for assimilation becomes, with the taxation of those conditions in the system to supply that necessary for the sustenance of strength and vitality, excited in such a way and manner as to cause much distress to the body at times.

  8. Then, to overcome this condition, we would apply those properties as are fund in THIS. This to be applied externally. Produce a mixture of equal parts of salt, soda, saleratus, and mix with aqua pura sufficient to make almost a paste. Apply this across the portions in the cerebro-spinal system where the pain and misery appears, applying to this a moist heat of damp salt heated and placed in heated sack, so that these may be driven into the system. Not sufficient to blister or to cause too much irritation, but by overcoming this with counter-irritation we will relax the body through these portions sufficient that the adjustments necessary for these portions of the cerebro-spinal system may be made, and the ganglias relaxed sufficient that the body may sustain the necessary incentive for the proper functioning of the system.

  9. Take into the body those properties as are found in THIS preparation:

  10. To 1/2 gallon of distilled water, add 8 ounces dried or green ragweed, or ambrosia weed. Reduce by simmering (not boiling) to 1/2 the quantity. Strain while warm and add these properties to same:

Elixia Stillingia…1/4 ounce, Oil of Sassafras…1/4 ounce, Plain Simple Syrup, (with sufficient, of course, of the alcohol to preserve same)…2 ounces, Balsam of Tolu…1 ounce, cut in 4 ounces grain alcohol.

  1. The dose of this will be half a teaspoonful 4 times each day.

  2. At least sufficient of the corrections should be made that the body gain more strength.

  3. The application should be often enough to prevent the pain, misery, heaviness, in this portion of the body.

  4. These properties fully taken - then we would give further instructions, for we will find changes coming about, for we are meeting only a portion of the cause of trouble, but the effects must be taken care of also, that the functioning organs may not become further involved in the condition.

  5. Be careful of the diet. Keep the intestinal tract open, and especially the colon clear, using high enemas, with antiseptics, saline antiseptics, rather than taking any cathartics. The diet consistent with the conditions of the body, for the body has studied troubles sufficiently to know what can be eaten and what not. More sleep will be procured by these adjustments and applications, and we will find a gradual improvement. Do that for the present.
