This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 105th St. & Ocean, Va. Beach, Va., this 26th day of Feb., 1932, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [426], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Born April 10, 1874, on Saturday at 10:00 A. M., in Baltimore, Maryland. Time of Reading 5:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. N.Y.C. (Life Reading Suggestion)

1. EC: We have the entity and those relations with the universe and universal forces, as are latent and manifested in the personalities of the present entity, now called [426].

2. In entering astrologically, these - while they influence the entity from sojourns - in the ordinary term of astrological influence would vary considerable in that as has been builded, and as is manifested in the activities of the entity in the present.

3. These are as abilities:

4. In Aries - an entity that uses the head and the mental abilities, rather than the brawn or physical exertions, to accomplish that as would bring those returns for self in any material affairs. Naturally, the mental is builded likewise.

5. This, in Jupiter, brings a varied influence in the entity; that is, many various characters of individuals in many walks of life are attracted to and used by the entity for the accomplishing of that as would have to be done by or for the entity; yet in this same respect oft through the entity’s development in the present have been periods when brawn and physical strength are attracted by the entity, and such in others is attractive to the entity - as well as periods when the entity desires to match same, not only in brawn but match wits, as it were, with the various contacts - and the broad field of experience that comes with one of the influencing in Jupiter.

6. Those influences in Venus make for an alterable and an altering condition in the experience of the entity, and as to whether these changes in the life in the next year to two years, through those squares of Venus and Jupiter with the earth, will depend upon the application of will in the entity’s experience; and, as we find, the culmination, or the period through which the decision must be made, will be between August 15th and November 15th of this present year. The greater stress coming in the last weeks of September and first of October, as THAT the period of the square.

7. Those things BUILDED in the entity’s experience in the present, through those relationships that have existed in past experience, used or builded upon in the present, makes for executive abilities of the entity; that as deals with things in relationships to individuals’ activities or individuals’ needs, whether of that as will add to their physical welfare or to the convenience of individuals; yet it must be THINGS.

8. In the influences builded, also that ability to influence others by the mere force of argumentation; which is BUILDED in self in a great measure rather as, not of sham - but rather that as may be termed a veneer; but the veneer GENUINE - but VENEER!

In those things as related to the conditions that are innate in the entity from experiences, and that also builded - while those things that are of material-material, or earth-earthy, are necessary to the well being of the entity, there is not the wholehearted satisfaction as was felt that SHOULD come when there could be said, “Body, mind, take thine ease, for thine house is in order,” and the entity has realized that there is but a shell for that house, and this DOES not satisfy that longing, or that ability that is magnified by that which is sincere, or true love - as may be expressed in those of the relationships of individuals for individuals, for that other than that as may be given in exchange; for the entity has, does, and will more and more realize that as was given, that “God so LOVED the world” and those of the human forces, that there CAME that ability that would make for companionship that does not desire pay, doe not desire that that is a sham, nor that that is duty - as moral, or as is socially understood by the world - but rather that of the nature that makes for, arises from, the elements of CREATIVE ENERGY itself - that is NOT balanced either by passion of fury or of body, but the passion of that that makes alive for those forces that bring into being that of the spiritual energies, in the nature and form as to be INSPIRING to one TO DO THEIR BEST in any and EVERY DIRECTION - born of Creative Forces alone!

10. In the appearances and the effect these have had upon the entity:

11. In the one then before this we find in that land when there were those preparations for the settlings of the peoples in a new land. In England did the entity then sojourn, and with those who SETTLED the land; among those that ministered with those peoples called Cabots did the entity then journey to the land that is the present nativity, and in the first of those settlements that were established did the entity act rather in the capacity of what would be termed in the present as the judge, or judge advocate; that one to whom all carried their troubles. Not troubles as of the supplying of the needs alone; not troubles alone of differences in individuals, but rather in that of both spiritual and material advisor, and in the name Alex Neilson. In this experience the entity gained and lost. Gained in the service that was rendered, for the love of association, the love of the fellow man; losing in the aggrandizing of selfish interests and motives, that judged irrespective of the outcome so the outcome in the favor of self or self’s association. Hence in the present oft is the entity termed as one hardheaded, hard to be understood, appearing as a one condition in the once and as changed in attitude in the next - that SELF may judge the both sides of a question; yet makes for ASSOCIATES as of a hard individual to deal with, yet a successful one - and one whom MANY consider the advice and counsel as being worth while.

12. In the one then before this we find in that period when there was the returning of the peoples of the promise land to the rebuilding of the walls of the Holy City. The entity then with those of the latter return, who with Nehemiah aided in the gathering of those things necessary for the replenishing, the rebuilding in supplies, in materials, in the necessities of life, in the necessities for the aiding, the ministering, in the Temple. The entity then in the name Zerghon, and the ENTITY of the sons of those that waited in the temple service, but of the sons of Moses rather than of Aaron. Hence that lineage that made for the keepers of the exchange, the moneys, or the gold or the silver, and waited between those of Cyrus and those of the peoples in the Holy City. The entity gained through this experience, for those waitings, those openings of the hearts of the peoples in an alien or foreign land brought many lessons to the entity, that service to man is the highest service that may be rendered to the God. This the entity has lost in, somewhat, in the present, yet is there that bond ever present that self must be in touch WITH that upon which one may lean, not only in dire circumstances but in joys, in pleasures, in hardships, in trials; yet the entity is NOT YET satisfied. A vision is constantly before the entity, something JUST amiss, something not QUITE understood.

13. In the one then before this we find in that land known as the Egyptian, and during those periods when there were rebellions and dissensions among those that ruled in the land. The entity then among those that with the priest AIDED the peoples in their ministry to the needs of the peoples; for the ENTITY for the priest acted in the capacity of the KEEPER of that that would be given to those that were needy in body adornment, in food, and in the necessities of material life; aiding in the latter portion, however, in the dispersing of, and in the ministering of, to others, those tenets and lessons that were gained by the peoples that were to be ministered to others in other lands, as well as in the home land; gathering of those that were put in as a free will offering was the ministry of the entity, in the name Arpt-Eldi.

14. In the abilities of the entity in the present, and that to which it MAY attain:

Much may be accomplished yet in the satisfying of that that is so desired for the satisfying of the heart, or SOUL within; for the dregs of unfaithfulness in business associations wear hard upon the entity, and there is that longing for the home WITHOUT foundations, whose SOURCE of love is in CREATIVE Forces - or God!

16. Keep, then, that that gives of self in the manner that is known as the greater service to the Maker, and there comes - with the understanding and awakening forces, with the heart - that which makes for a peace, that comes with SERVICE alone!

18. (Q) How are things coming out with me in my domestic affairs? (A) As indicated, the latter portion of the present year should make the climax in those strained, or those indifferent relationships as have existed, as do exist, between self and others, between self and family, and those related in duty’s forces.

19. (Q) How are my children coming out? (A) This depends a great deal upon the use THESE make for, and of, that as is set by self as example and as tenet. WELL were these one [won?].

20. (Q) How will my business come out here in America? (A) With changes as we find arising in economic, in political, in social changes, these will go through the necessary changes that come with every great upheaval, every great economic depression - but, as we find, these constantly will advance; for, as has been given, PHYSICALLY the house is well in order, when viewed from the financial viewpoint.

21. (Q) How will the foreign branches come out? (A) Some of these WELL; others not so well. On the continent very good, in the southern portions or in South American - or in the Latin American - those of southern or central Europe, well.

22. (Q) How will the new business Mycalex come out? (A) After ‘36 (thirty-six), very good! Excellent - wonderful!

23. (Q) What will hit us in business during the year, if anything? (A) The changes in the political aspects, as IS apparent.

R1. 3/11/32 “Rec’d Life Rdg. which I found very interesting. Friend [257] and I are still dissecting same.”

R2. 4/5/32 GD’s letter to Mr. [426]: From hearing and writing up your life reading I feel that I can write this letter. During my eight and a half years of association with Mr. Cayce’s work, I have come to realize that I can know people much better through their life readings than I possibly could if I had been associated with them for many years.

It seems from your reading that in Egypt many thousand years ago you were Mr. Cayce’s business manager. Now, in the present, I feel that is what he needs more than anything else. When the new Association was organized, a business manager was appointed - but, because of conditions over which he has seemed to have no control, he has been very inactive, and has really been more of a drain on the Association than anything else. However, he has been given an opportunity - and it is always up to us as to what we do with them. I think he is planning to resign at our board meeting in June.

We are to have our first Congress of Members at Virginia Beach between June 15th and July 1st. At that time the Board will transact any necessary business, and elect new officers, etc., each of which - according to our by-laws - can only be elected after being vouched for through a reading.

The readings have said that the proper way to exploit the work was to have a business manager, one who was entirely “sold” on the proposition himself, and who was capable of putting it before the public in the proper light. Now, I feel from your reading that you have these qualifications - that is, I know you are capable, have made a success in business yourself, and could present this work in the proper way to the masses, provided you are “sold” on it yourself. Now, I do not know just how much your life reading impressed you, or how you feel about Mr. Cayce’s work in the present. I only know from your reading that at one time you were his “right-hand-man”, we might say, and as that is what he needs most now, I am approaching you on the subject.

If you are the least bit interested in seeing this work expand in such a way as to help millions, as it has helped a few thousands already, won’t you consider this very seriously? and make it a point to come to Virginia Beach and discuss the matter with Mr. Cayce in person? There is no limit to the possibilities, in a physical, mental or spiritual way. We have the largest collection of psychic data in the world, and it is laying idle - for the simple reason that no one (the right one) has come along to present it as it should be presented. We have data regarding the health (specific cures for diseases, remedies for every imaginable condition) that would be worth millions if it was gotten together and given out, besides being a boon to humanity. There are about fifteen thousand readings on file right in this house, covering the physical, mental, spiritual and material conditions. There is enough data for study groups to keep them furnished with lessons for years to come. One Study Group has already been formed in Norfolk, and is preparing lessons to be given to other groups. The spiritual data we have on hand would give a new light to the religions of the world, or - in other words - fit them all together as one, working toward a common goal.

All of these things will continue to be worthless except to a very few, unless someone - somebody especially fitted - joins hands with us, or takes hold of the work and pushes it forward. Of course, one individual did take hold of the work

• many have, in fact, during the years gone by - but all of them have projected themselves rather than the work itself. Hence the apparent failures.

You may wonder why I am writing you all of this. For the very simple reason that my one and only purpose in life is to see this work go on. I think I can truthfully say, as did Jesus, “For this purpose came I into the world”, and if I can assist, in any way, towards making this work become a living thing in the hearts and lives of others now and for generations to come, my life on this earth will have been worth while. For eight and a half years I have lived right in the home of the Cayce’s, have taken down every reading, and have had experiences and proofs of what it is worth in my own life, and my loved ones, as well as in many hundreds of others whom we have contacted. I truly believe that Mr. Cayce has the largest collection of affidavits and personal letters of recommendation and proof of his work than any other living human being. He has given his life; he has actually proven in this day and age - in a very material way

• that God lives and manifests through man. Now it is up to others, a few chosen ones - who offer themselves, to bring about an expansion that will enlighten and benefit millions, as we - only a few - have been.

Mr. Cayce does not know that I am writing this letter to you. At times he gets very discouraged; he has given himself to a humanitarian work, and - as the prophets of old - he has been persecuted, crushed, and has had to rely almost wholly on his faith in God and not in man. Strange to say, though, he still has faith in his fellow man, knowing that each one has within him that spark of the Divine that is able to overcome all evil, if each will determine “Not my will but Thine, O Lord, be done in me, through me!”

You needn’t bother to answer this. I don’t want anyone to know I have approached you about it, but - if you are the least bit interested in helping to see this work carried on - won’t you be thinking about it, considering it? and come to Virginia Beach as soon as possible and talk about it with Mr. Cayce? I know of nothing that would give him more pleasure, more peace of mind and heart, than to know that you were going to lend a hand and help him “put this thing over”, even as in the days of yore.

R3. 6/2/32 Mr. [426]‘s ltr. to GD:

Dear Miss Davis:

I have your letter of April 5th and have allowed the matter to rest up to this time trying to figure out some way in which I might be of assistance to Mr. Cayce. However, driving forward the ship in these troublesome times and in these turbulent waters, it seems that I would be doing this Company, as well as myself, an injustice by accepting any further responsibility. Besides, unless I could give the matter considerable time, I would be of no great benefit to Mr. Cayce. Especially in view of the fact that I am leaving for Europe on Friday, June 3rd, to be gone for some time, I could not avail myself of the opportunity of attending the Congress at Virginia Beach.

In regard to the life reading, I must admit that I do not understand it as it is couched in language with which I am not conversant and does not bring out facts upon which I can predicate a conclusion. I never make decisions until I have facts arrayed in mass, and I then take and analyze the whole situation, balancing the possibilities of failure with the credits of possible successes. I have found that only in this way can one advise a course to pursue.

With reference to a specific thing like Mr. Cayce’s dentrifice, these are every day happenings upon which a formula can be built for making the product a success. There must be certain elements stacked up against the time element and the merit of the product and if this happy combination can be completed, the business to all intents and purposes should be a success.

I will be glad to help Mr. Cayce in any way I can in regard to counsel and advice for the purpose of marketing this product. However, as before stated, for the rest of the activities of Mr. Cayce, I do not know enough about it. Neither do I understand it well enough. There are so many hidden things that I do not comprehend, and while I may be successful in divining the purpose of a man in conference with him, however, my mind does not run so much into the mystic that I can comprehend these hidden things.
