This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at Phillips Hotel, Room 115, Dayton, Ohio, this 11th day of April, 1924, in accordance with request made by self - [4319], via Mr. M. B. Wyrick.

1. EC: Now, we find the abnormal conditions in this body, from the physical, have to do with the functioning of organs as organs, and an effect as created in the system through these conditions.

2. Now, these are conditions as we find them in this body, [4319] we are speaking of. First:

IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find, while sufficient in quantity at most times, the elements and constituents of the supply itself being deficient in rebuilding forces, for there is that bacilli created in the system in organs that produce this strain in red blood force and taking of vitim from this portion. This also applies in the reaction when the strain is shown in the nerve system, and the body finds the capillary circulation coming below normal, with extremities having sensation of cold or clamness to these parts affected at such times. This does not occur at all times, but rather that of the change in cycle.

4. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, we find many centers being taxed by this condition. These more especially while others are involved at different times. Those of pneumogastric and hypogastric center, those of the ilium plexus and those in the locomotories, both in upper and lower extremity centers. This forces then at times the change or variations in the circulation is below normal. In the sympathetic system those centers that connect direct with cerebro-spinal system, and those of the plexuses as given, show more in the sheath or center itself that inflammation produced by this strain, causing at times reflex conditions that affect the head and organs of sensory system.

5. ORGANS OF THE SYSTEM, in the forces then of organs proper we find as these conditions:

6. In the brain force very good. One given to detail and the application of same.

7. Sensory system affected by the nerve condition, producing strain and taxation to eyes proper.

8. In throat, lungs, larynx very good except at times when the white blood supply is attacked by the general condition, and when the strain in hypogastric and overtaxing of red blood supply from kidney discharge, the system then becomes in local places abscessed or obesed with this condition.

9. In pneumogastric center the circulation there in digestion produces the taxing of digestion, yet with the change in application of the mental forces this is overcome to a great extent.

10. In the heart’s action the subnormal shows, yet not of organic nature; rather nerve system with the loading of system with the uric acid forces.

11. Liver being engorged by over-taxation from the high hepatic circulation, or intense internal circulation to meet the needs of system, the intestinal tract showing the lack of sufficient nutriment taken up by the system being overcharge with internal inflammation by excess coagulation.

12. In the kidneys proper strain produced there from times back by lesion in the ilium plexus. These then are those portions of organism affected direct, but may be, with the changing of the condition producing same, and with incentive in system to alleviate the condition through proper channels, brought to their normal forces.

13. We would then to bring the normal for this body, treat by deep manipulation in the whole system, correcting those centers that are producing strain and impinionment upon the nerve system in cerebro-spinal system; second, third lumbar, tenth, eleventh dorsal, sixth, fourth dorsal. These are the main centers. Then, after this correction has been made, or taken for three weeks, take every other day, begin taking into the system these properties.

14. Small quantity plain Phosphate of Soda, to which is added at each dose (which would be taken early of mornings) one-half teaspoonful to full glass of water, with three drops Syrup Sarsaparilla, and each third day there would be added one drop Rectified Oil of Turp, and one drop of Oil of Juniper.

15. Do this. Keep these corrections, keeping the diet that from too much sweets. Not of meats either, but vegetable forces that give the correction in the elimination and will give in blood force the building properties, both in red blood and white blood supply. We will find in three to four months, with this taken persistently and consistently, the body will be normal, [4319].

Enclosed you will find the reading as gotten this afternoon, am very much in hopes that you will find here that which will be of a great deal of help to you, and from the experience of others am sure you will. Would like to have a word from you once and awhile and let me know how you get along and if necessary would be glad to check up on same when the osteopath has given you a few treatments.

Dear Sir:

I received your reading dated Apr. 11. In this reading you make mention of manipulations on the spine and mention an osteopath in your letter attached. I wish to ask of whom I can get the best results from an osteopath or chiropractor. I have had feelings that better results could be obtained from the latter, when properly trained.

Mr. Wyrick of Chicago who referred me to you was of that opinion and it was for that reason I am asking you if it was intentional on your part to mention or rather recommend an osteopath.

R3. 4/16/24 EC’s letter to [4319]:

Dear Mr. [4319]

Yours of the 14th before me, and hasten to reply for may be holding up the works, it was my understanding from the reading that the Osteopathic treatment was the preferable one in your case, and in Mr. Wyrick am sure it distinctly told him to have the Chiropractor. Now as to who to tell you to go to I do not know any of the profession, however will ask. Just a moment. Yes, the President of the Osteopathic Ass’n lives here and just called to ask; he gives me these two names: H. E. Sinder, 341 Madison Ave., and Richard Wanless, 347 5th Ave. Would suggest that you see one of these, now have nothing against the Chri- [chiropractors] but when these suggestions say a certain school I believe it means that is the one for that particular person.

Am very much in hopes that you will soon be feeling quite yourself and free from all disturbance, and can’t help but feel from the experiences of others that you will do likewise.

Dear Sir:

Will you please give me a check reading #8542 [4319-1] - April 11 - 1924. Have been taking the osteopathic treatments mentioned and also the medicine mentioned but in the last few days have been awakened in early morning by pain in the lower position of the back apparently due to the liver or kidneys. I would appreciate a check reading as early as consistent.

My dear Mr. [4319]:

I have yours of June 5th, regarding a check reading on your given April 11th. We shall be very glad to take this matter up for you and we certainly thank you for your letter, and we trust we shall be able to give sufficient information to check this up and to keep the improvements going on.

You will notice that we have set Wednesday, June 11th, 11:00 A.M. as the time. I suppose this will give you time to return this card. However, if satisfactory with you, you may drop me a wire telling me it will be satisfactory at this hour; that is, if you will be in your office at this time, and return the card by mail.

I’m glad to know that you are following out the suggestions given, and I am sure by so doing that you will obtain the results as promised and as so many others are getting.

R6. 6/13/24 [4319]‘s letter to EC:

Mr. Edgar Cayce Dayton, Ohio

My dear Mr. Cayce:

Believe part of my trouble as mentioned in my letter was over-zealousness on my part. I massaged my kidneys and believe it merely irritated them and prevented the prescription you mentioned from functioning properly. I am coming along fine now but would like the check reading to find out how the osteopathic treatments and what improvements there have been in the kidneys, blood and nerve system and heart.

If there is anything I am doing contrary to physical recovery tell me what it is stop or do.

Regarding your letter of June 7 regarding Psychic Research conclusions, I wish to say that it is my belief that your conclusion 1-2-3 are absolutely correct especially #1 and #3 and of course #2 is a natural resultant conclusion if there is a sincere belief in #1 and #3.
