EC: Now, we find there are conditions abnormal that are serious for this body at the present time and will require care and attention, else there will be troubles for the physical in the body soon. These conditions have to do with specific conditions that exist and the cause producing a condition, the condition becoming one of a tentative nature, and exaggerated in its elemental forces, has produced and does produce serious conditions for the physical body, [4368] we are speaking of.
-
Now these are conditions as we find them at the present time. First:
-
IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find in an exaggerated state and condition, for the red blood is becoming anaemitized, and the excess of lymphatic forces, without the exercising of conditions to bring near the normal function into emunctories and eliminating forces in the body, produce destructive forces in other portions, and swelling in ligaments and tissue, such as destructive forces in red blood supply brings and has brought to the organs, especially that about the diaphragm of the spleen in its functioning. In this condition then we are gradually taking the vitality of the system, we are gradually destroying the equalizations necessary for the body to meet and to contend, as it were, with the destructive forces in physical under which the body is at the present time. In this manner do we find that, without the change of vibration, it must of necessity bring the using up of stored energy, until the whole body would become the exaggerated condition, as has been produced in the system on account of lesions in portions of the body.
-
IN THE NERVE SYSTEM PROPER, we find there are many conditions in the cerebro-spinal centers that have been and are becoming affected by and affecting the conditions now existent in the system. With the weakened condition, and with the taxing of the lymphatics as heat and temperature is brought to the body, we find other centers come under this subjugation, and the vital forces necessary for rebuilding are gradually being absorbed or diverted in their channels, until the system has become one of an exaggerated condition of one that might have been easily adjusted when first begun. In the sympathetic system we find this is well distributed, yet the strain in proving too great for the whole system, for the volition of the entity is becoming weakened under the strain.
-
IN THE FUNCTIONING OF ORGANS THEMSELVES, there are many of these we find under the strain of existing conditions, these coming under the strain and that condition in the organs showing the greater effect of the impingement of the centers controlling the system are the digestive forces in stomach proper, through the condition existing in spleen, the duodenum and the nausea as caused in the stomach proper by the flushing back in the system of those conditions that should be eliminated in and through the dross portions of body. The strain, the elimination as has been done for some times back, without the correction of the condition producing same, is and has been only to bring about the exaggerated, the malignant, condition as exists in the lymphatic forces in the lacteal gland, in the spleen, in pancreas and in kidneys.
-
R E L I E F: Hence, then, to bring the better forces and to give the body the opportunity to react and retrace the conditions as produced, we would take specific conditions in the system, and with the osteopathic or chiropractic forces, that understand the gentleness that must be accorded the system under such conditions, constrain the nerve supply, constrain the conditions as produce the fluids in system, rather than to suddenly change and divert the condition, for we would have then the sudden change that would be detrimental and distressing to the physical forces, yet these corrections can be and would be made by the manipulation, preferably osteopath or chiropractor understanding the necessary massage, contraction and retraction in the nerve centers and plexuses along the whole dorsal and lumbar region; taking into the system at least five of these capsules, taking five of these capsules; that is, we would have an alternation of these properties in the system, in small quantities, that we may get the reaction. Hence they would be taken one every other day, or one every day of the two.
-
To the first, this should be in each capsule:
Podophyllin…1/2 grain, Leptandrin…1 1/2 grain, Sanguinaria…1 grain.
-
Make five of these, one taken every other day.
-
And these:
Cascara Sagrada…1/2 grain, Licorice Compound…1 grain, Senna…1/2 grain, Yellow Saffron (powdered)…1 grain.
-
These will make large capsules on account of the Saffron, but would be taken every other evening until five are taken.
-
Begin immediately with the massage and the adjusting of conditions, that elimination may be carried on in system properly.
-
With all the water as taken in the system, let it carry small quantities of elm, that we may have healing properties throughout the system. Alternated if desired by the body with the weak Saffron Tea. Let water be cool but not too cold.
-
Let the diet be that not of meats but broths and of the juice of meats, well prepared, seasoned highly, especially with Cayenne. Beef juices would be well for the present time. Broths of any character good, and green vegetables that are grown above the ground. No meats of any character. Fruits, those bearing iron, such as pears or apples or grapes. No other character in fruits. No citrous fruits of any kind.
-
Follow this closely, persistently, consistently, and we will find we will bring better conditions for the body, and as the change comes we will in a few weeks find this then. We will change the conditions to meet the needs thereof. We are through for the present.

My dear Mr. […]-
I received the card and enclosure. I’m still here on some special work, but as you will see the reading was taken this afternoon. This, apparently, to me is rather a serious condition, and I would suggest that you get to work on this immediately, else the conditions might be so far advanced as to bring on more serious troubles. I believe by past experiences, and those we are having every day at present, that you will find a great deal of relief for Mrs. [4368] in following closely the suggestions as made here. I do not know the possibility of your getting a good osteopath there but I feel sure you must have this, for these two must work in conjunction (the osteopathic treatment and the medicine), that the retraction may be begun at once.
I would thank you very much to let me hear from you soon after you get started on this, for as you see in the closing of this it is suggested that in a few weeks it will be necessary to change instructions as conditions have progressed.
Thanking you for the remittance sent, trusting you will let me hear from you, sincerely hoping you will find relief for Mrs. [4368], I am
Sincerely yours, Edgar Cayce

Dear Sir - I am very sorry indeed and discouraged that my check was turned down. I am sending you cashier check.
I have had some very heavy obligations to meet here lately. My Bank promised to take care of your check if it came in before the first of August as I am a salaried man and make my deposits on the first of each month. I am sorry they protested. They promised to phone me so I could make arrangements if it came back before I made deposit. I hope this has not put you in any inconvenience.
I received the reading. I haven’t been able to get part of the medicine but am sending for it, so my wife can follow this treatment.
I am very truly yours, […]
R3. 8/5/24 EC’s letter:
Cleburne, Texas
Dear Mr. […]:-
Have yours of the 1st, with the cashier’s check. There was a protest fee on this of $2.35. Would like very much for you to take care of this if you deem it the proper thing to do. This, of course, caused me just a little bit of annoyance as I was not at home at the time and naturally it caused some little trouble at the bank where we had it cashed. I understand how such conditions arise and appreciate your taking care of it as you have thus far. Would thank you to take care of the rest of it, if you see fit, as I suggested.
Am very much in hopes that you have been able to get these things together for your wife, and am in hopes that she is seeing results by now. Will appreciate it if you will let me hear from you from time to time, as I’m very anxious to know how she gets along and to check up on conditions once in a while.
Thanking you, and hoping to hear from you, I am
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD
R4. 8/8/24 Husband’s letter:
Dear Sir - I have been unable to find one medicine in your diagnosis. Yellow saffron (powdered). I had my druggist to order it and he claims none of the wholesale drug houses in Texas have it.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could be of some assistance in helping me find it as I do not want to start on the capsules until I follow your instructions. Is there anything that could substitute.
My wife has been improving slowly in the last two weeks under her other treatments.
Yours truly, […]
R5. 8/12/24 EC’s letter:
Dear Mr. […]-
Yours of the 8th received. The Yellow Saffron as spoken of, it is necessary that this be prepared by the druggist, as you know this is a bark and has to be powdered by heating and then powdering. If you cannot get this prepared there, if you will send the reading to […], Hamrick’s Drug Store, Dexter Ave., Montgomery, Alabama, or to Sellers’ Drug Company, Fourth Avenue and Twentieth Street, Birmingham, Alabama, they will prepare these for you at once. I’m in hopes, however, you will be able to get this there.
I’m certainly glad to know that Mrs. [4368] has been on the improve for the last few weeks. I assure you it is no worry or trouble whatever to try to be of assistance to you in getting these preparations, or in helping in any way to be of assistance to Mrs. [4368].
I appreciate your writing and I hope you will let me hear from you from time to time.
Sincerely yours, Edgar Cayce EC:GD
R6. 8/16/24 Husband’s letter:
Dear Sir - Just received your letter in regard to the medicine. I am sending to Hamrick’s Drug Store, Montgomery Alabama to get it filled. I hope they can fill it.
My wife seems to be improving. She has gained two pounds the first time she has not lost weight in three or four months.
I am sending you check for $2.50. I am sorry I put you to this inconvenience and assure you it won’t happen again.
I wish to thank you for the service you have been to me.
Very Truly Yours, […]

Her spleen has enlarged to above three or five times normal size and very hard.
There doesn’t seem to be any thing else wrong with her only this enlargement of spleen and gradually losing weight. I am very uneasy about her and would like for you to give her a reading Tuesday July 15 at 7 o’clock P.M. at … St., …, Texas. If this date is not convenient for you please notify me the date that will meet with your approval.

Dear Mr. […] -
I have yours of the 9th relative to a reading for your wife. I shall be very glad to undertake this for you and I hope I can be of some assistance. Have been in Cleburne several times and have some very personal friends there. Among them, Mr. […] of the Home National Bank, whom I would like very much for you to see and talk to relative to the possibilities of my being of assistance.
I was called away from home on some special work for a few days, but am enclosing you, herewith, an application card, with the date and hour set, at which time we can make this reading for you. You will please return same at once, that we may know that this is satisfactory so as to prevent someone else from losing an opportunity. You will return card to P.O. Box 463, Dayton, Ohio.
You will understand, Mr. […], we do not set a price for the work, but giving my whole time, and it requiring the assistance of others, its necessary that people contribute to the upkeep of the work, that I may be able to continue same. The usual amount is twenty to twenty five dollars with the application and as results are shown they contribute further to the upkeep of the work.
I remember, during my experience, of having two or three cases that, apparently, are similar with conditions as you describe. One of these was my own sister, and I believe that without an exception all of these were greatly benefited or cured.
Trusting that I may be of assistance to your wife, and asking again that you let me hear at once, I am
