This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 30th day of November, 1942, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [437], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., through Mr. [257].

1. GC: You will have before you the entity, [437], …, N.Y.C, his business, his mental, spiritual and material life, his associations and associates and especially with the association of [257], of …, N.Y.C. Please advise [437] how he can use his abilities, associations and connections for the best interests of the war effort to serve his country in the best manner possible to help win the war and at the same time attend to his personal affairs or keep his own business going for development after the war. After you have directed this entity in the best channels, you will then answer the questions which we will ask you:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [437]; this we have had before.

3. In considering the offering of self in channels to be of aid to the united effort in winning the war, many things and many conditions are to be taken into consideration.

4. If the idea is that the entity, with its associates, may be the gainer by place, position or activity, it would be well NOT to consider same. If it is a sincere ALL OUT effort to be a means, a channel for assistance to the armed forces in the various channels, then this must be the choice - according to the purpose, according to what the entity desires to do at this time. If the purpose is in those channels as of lack of self or of self’s interest, that the effort is made, then those channels through and in which the entity is most capable may be used as a means for a contribution that will be invaluable to the effort. And at the same time associations may be made, connections established, that would enable the entity after the war or conflict to carry on in those channels of producing entertainment that will not only be remunerative in its nature but contributing to the moral and spiritual welfare of his fellow man.

5. In those offices in England, preferably, may the entity offer its services and supply those activities as to be a contributing influence for good for the armed forces; through those channels that have been established or set up by the united effort - or in the USO, or similar activities. Through these activities, then, should the entity offer self - if this is the choice; that the activities may be in line with that effort being made.

7. (Q) Should the entity consider going to London as a representative of U.S.O. to aid the morale of the troops in England or can he better serve in a different capacity in the U.S. to accomplish the same results? (A) As indicated, the reason as to why the entity would offer self must first be analyzed. If it is an “all out” effort on the part of the entity to serve in an unselfish manner, then offer self in or through those channels. And there will come from same the associations and connections that will be valuable, - yea, above value in the experience of the entity after the war.

If this is to be done FOR the purpose of making other than that character of effort, you better forget it!

8. (Q) Is this the time for him to consider the continuation of the producing film business, considering the conditions of the country, the war effort, etc.? (A) There are certain types, certain characters of pictures that - if they were produced - would be a contribution at this time to the war effort, as well as paying projects or opportunities.

But, as a general thing, much of these are to be curtailed.

9. (Q) I have three pictures in mind to produce: The Stars and Stripes Forever, based on the life and music of John Philip Sousa - (A) (Interrupting) This would be one that would be acceptable; the others, - forget ‘em for the present!

B2. 11/20/42 He submitted questions, via his friend Mr. [257]; besides the ones which got asked in 437-12:

1. Should this entity consider going to London as a representative of U.S.O. to aid the morale of the troops in England or can he better serve in a different capacity in the U.S. to accomplish the same results.

2. Is this the time for him to consider the continuation of the producing film business considering the conditions of the country, the war effort and etc.

3. I have three pictures in mind to produce:

a. THE STARS AND STRIPES FOREVER - based on the life and music of John Philip Sousa - Considering the approach to the public on the basis of the music, his life history, connected with some present day actor of repute with a military background - would this be the kind of picture to produce at this time and would it be successful from a box office standpoint. Also can this picture be produced and distributed before the war is over. Would the ending of the war effect the acceptance of the picture by the public if it were to come out after the war was over. Is there a better approach using the background of John Philip Sousa and his music to meet present war conditions to aid the morale of the Army, navy and marines and at the same time make it a financial success. Since Twentieth Century have agreed to produce this picture advise [437] or warn him in his association with them so there will be no errors or mistakes made either in the producing or distribution of the picture.

b. TROPICANA - This is a girl show with a lot of music - Will this show be as successful as we believe at this time it can be and should it be produced at this time.

c. RENO NIGHTS - What about this one.

4. Considering [437]‘s background in the manufacturing of films, producing, etc., what other manufacturing field can use his ability and advice for the benefit of the direct war effort.

5. Would his efforts be better in New York, Kentucky or New England States or in California.

6. Is there any place in the National Government who needs the services that this entity has to offer. If so, name the specific branch of government and the man to contact.

7. [437] and [257] have discussed, Micalex - Plastics - optics - steel tubing and similar situations - Which of these offers [437] the best opportunity to express his ability for the war Effort and at the same time bring proper remuneration to him.

8. If no better suggestion has been made thus far would it be a good idea for [437] to head up a factory that can munitions or some similar war need and have [257] to get the order from the War Department to fill that factory. If so, what particular item would be the best one for [437] to consider.

9. How long should [437] plan to stay away from his own business should he go into an all out war effort so that he can judge his future business associations accordingly.

10. The forces that have placed Hitler in this sphere whether for good or evil - how can the results of his being here and the lessons derived from his visitation during this period be best portrayed to the peoples of the world through the medium of the motion picture.

11. Since the forces have stated these are changing times what kind of a plan can best be worked out to [437] and his associates to suggest to the Powers that Be as the New Way of Life.

12. Where is the best place for [437] to make his permanent home for the best interests of himself and his family.

13. What kind of investments can he make to afford him security for the future in the manner of living to which he is accustomed.

14. In My Life Reading [437-2] it stated that I should deal with the masses as an executive. Considering present times and conditions which part of the masses should I deal with and how should this information be applied at this time.

15. Considering the Life Readings of [257] and [437] and Edgar Cayce and our past associations with Edgar Cayce what can [437] and [257] do to-day in a business way or social way or both that would be for the best efforts of our country, our families and ourselves.
