-
EC: Yes, we have the body here - [4402]. Now, we find there are conditions as are causing disturbance with the physical functioning of this body, and we find also that the greater part of the applications as have been used for the body have been for the condition, rather than for the cause that produced same.
-
Now these are conditions as we find with this body, [4402], we are speaking of:
-
With the BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find definitely disturbed in its ACTIVITY, or in the form of its activity, in the manner in which the eliminations are carried on through the functioning of the conditions as exist, as related to the blood supply. Hence we may find at times contaminations existent, that might show a response in these that would be negative, positive, and (that is, varying from these conditions, see?) at others too little saline, at others too much, others carrying the streptococci, and at other times we would find carrying malarial conditions. All of these conditions are existent and have a definite cause for same.
-
In the effect as these conditions and disturbances have produced in NERVOUS SYSTEM: These vary, very much in the same way, save there are specific centers and related conditions that show the pressure is produced in certain centers, and that by the gradual building up of the improper incentives to the nerve plexus and the radial axis of the activity produced by same, specific ORGANIC conditions have been produced, as to the functioning of the organs so disturbed.
-
In the functioning of the ORGANS themselves: In the liver we find the seat of the trouble. The radial plexus, then, being from the 7th, 8th and 9th dorsal. These VARYING as to the activity, or of the pressure in same, to the same relationship of the activities produced in digestion - as to whether the upper hepatics are involved, the lower hepatics are involved, or whether the pressure is caused from too full an activity in the upper plexus of the frontal portion of the CARDIAC portion of stomach. The resultant effect from these conditions is an excess potash condition in the system; for, as has been given, oftentimes the stomach in itself may be so classified as the medicine chest of the system, and the various elements as they are separated in the various forces - or from the foods as are taken, and in the assimilation create practically all of those forces as are necessary to carry on the forces in system. The resultant condition from this is that as is evidenced at times in the lymphatic and capillary circulation, by the conditions as are produced in the exterior portions of system, by the conditions as at other times are produced to mucus membranes of nose, throat, larynx and bronchials - not as these organs themselves are affected, other than as to the functioning as is produced from those conditions, and disturbances as are brought about in the system by these vibratory reflexes, and a condition as is produced in the organ itself.
-
Now, to meet the needs of these conditions - first we will find it will be necessary that the body would relax thoroughly, sufficient length of time that the corrections may be made along the cerebro-spinal centers as produce in the FIRST cause the conditions, and that will GIVE sufficient time for the organ itself - through the proper application of those stimulants that would bring back the normal vibration of the organ itself, and produce the coordinating of eliminating forces as are being disturbed in this body, [4402].
-
In the effect then as to be produced: First we would apply salt and sand packs to the portion of the system so affected. An irritation will come locally from same, see? This should be done for at least three to four days. Then we would begin by applying a direct heat (from reflecting lights), and begin with manipulations to correct the condition. After the first or second - at least the second treatment is given (which should be at least every OTHER day, or may be given lightly and given every day for THREE days), THEN begin with those applications of equal parts of castor oil and of oil of sassafras, as applied directly to the body, over the liver. Do not apply the sassafras oil DIRECTLY to the skin, in this hot state. Saturate two cloths - one of the oil from the castor bean, and apply directly to body. Then apply a cloth saturated in the sassafras oil - lay across the top of this, see? These are to change the effects of the vibrations, as where we have the conditions being produced in the liver. These corrections, then, will make the body nauseated for a time. The diet, then, will be that as will be the necessary things to correct same - which will consist principally of those carrying iron and iodine, and little of the potash salts - yet being in the alkaline reaction in the most of these.
-
Then THESE, as they are followed, for at least eighteen to twenty-two days - and we will find the condition being nearly corrected and the body near normal. Do that. We are through for the present.

Dear Mr. Cayce -
Some months ago I had a reading from you pertaining to a functional female trouble which I have had all my life (since the age of 13). It is functional; when coming with a rush, which has been very, very seldom, it would clear up in 3 days, & I’d probably be cleared up for 2 or 3 months. But if it comes with a dribble for 2 or 3 wks. before starting then it lasts for a month or 2 & comes so profusely I am dreadfully weakened. When real run down it comes on very easily & from the slightest cause. Now at different times in my life I have had 3 operations & none have cured me. The Alexandrian helped most. One was an Alexandrian, 2 curettings. Now I am in a hospital for observation & doctors have come to the conclusion that there is a cyst in the left ovary, (which no other doctor discovered in former operations) & wish to remove it thinking it to be the cause.
I haven’t been able to use your advice for I have been unable to know just how to go about it. Your diagnosis gives my liver the seat of my trouble. Can you give me another reading immediately as I want to be sure the ovaries or ovary is the cause of the condition & if so why didn’t your diagnosis speak of it. I hurt when I’m as I am (very run down from flowing) I have a full feeling & also an ache in my left ovary. Is an operation my only alternative? I will be here at the Mass., Women’s Hospital, Parkshill Boston until Tuesday. I would appreciate an immediate reading for I put a lot of trust in your advice.
Send the letter to my home.
Mrs. [4402] …, Conn.
Sincerely yours, [4402]
Will forward money. Let me know how much.

Dear Mrs. [4402]
Replying to yours of recent date, our appointments have been such that we have been unable to make an immediate reading, but I am of the opinion that you should take advantage of your membership to the Association and use its hospital and its offices for observation, before having an operation performed, especially when the information has suggested that the real cause is from something else.
If you can make arrangements to come down, we will be very glad to take the matter up just as soon as possible.
Hoping that you can arrange to do this very shortly, I am
Sincerely, EC:GD
