EC: Yes. Now, we find the conditions are beyond repair in the present experience. There may be only that given as will give ease to the body in the present conditions. Not changing any as is applied, but will the hypnotic be changed to that of one minim Eucalyptol, one minim Rectified Oil of Turp, one-eightieth grain Heroin - this in capsule - will be found will ease the body the more. In the greatest of the influences will be those to make the body as EASY as possible. Only a few more rounds, or cycles of change in the condition, before the peritonitis or the drainages in the system - from the inroads being made - must sever the physical and the spiritual. The soul is well.

R1. 9/10/30 EC’s letter to [2669]:
Mrs. [2669] …, N.J.
Dear Mrs. [2669]:
We are writing in regard to your husband, who obtained a psychic reading through Mr. Edgar Cayce on June 25th. We notice that this reading seemed to indicate that there was little hope for him, for which we are very sorry.
We do not want to grieve you with questions about Mr. [4407], but we should like to know, in order to have a record of same, whether anything which the reading suggested was of help to him. We regret that we did not know of the case sooner.
With best wishes, and trusting that we may have an expression from you, we are
Sincerely yours, RESEARCH DEPARTMENT
R2. 11/10/30 [2669]‘s letter to EC:
My dear Mr. Cayce;-
My time being so full with the care of my husband, I have failed to answer your kind inquiry thru the Research Department whether any suggestions made by you had helped him. The prescription given for easing of pain included heroin. This was impossible to obtain, so we continued with the codeine. In his reading it was stated “a few more cycles and all is well with the soul”. What is the significance of the cycles in this instance? Is it length of time or condition? [Rest of letter requesting life readings for self and children.]
R3. 11/15/30 Sister [1736]‘s letter indicates her brother, [4407], is at death’s door with cancer.
R4. 3/2/31 Wife [2669]‘s letter verifying appointments for son [4406] and daughter [4405]: “If on account of the passing away of my husband [4407], which we expect now daily, there is to be a change [in their addresses for appointments], I will wire you.”
