Dear Sir:

In perusing your very interesting publication of October, I ran across the article entitled, Edgar Cayce - He Slept for a Living. It aroused recollection of an interesting experience I had in connection with his clairvoyance. An Association of Birmingham business men* had him to go into the conventional trance and pass judgement on a location I had made for a wildcat at Oil well in Marion Co., Ala., about the year 1920. In said trance, he indorsed my location, but the well was lost before reaching the depth he indicated; though it found several very interesting shows of oil and gas.

I will very gratefully appreciate the kindness if you will send me the address of Cayce’s widow, and will, further, send her this letter, which I believe she will appreciate as a memento. If you do not have her address, I will take the liberty to ask that you will send this letter to John D. Murphy, with the request that he will send it to her and will ask her to send me her address.

Two new deep wildcat oil strikes here have spurred speculation that Alabama’s Gulf coast is on the threshold of an economic bonanza unrivaled in the lower 48 states in many years.

The mounting number of oil and gas successes in Alabama and Mississippi over the past four years suggests, in fact, that Mobile is at the southern end of two oil and gas cornucopias that will pour forth their riches for years to come.

One oil and gas trade publication took note of the Mobile strikes saying they have “stoked new fire into a deep drilling play stretching from near Mobile northwestward to the vicinity of Jackson, Miss.”

There is a similar curve to the east where new oil and gas horizons are developing in southeast Alabama and northwest Florida.

The Port of Mobile is the prime terminus for all area pipelines.

Representatives of every major oil company in the nation as well as some foreign interests such as the Onassis firm have all been in Mobile in recent months to research the possibility of constructing refineries or some other facilities for holding or transshiping oil and gas.

Exploration is moving ahead at full speed.

There are no less than 20 projects in various stages of drilling or completion along the sweeping Smackover Formation curve between Jackson and Mobile.
