This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the Tutwiler Hotel, Birmingham, Ala., this 19th day of January, 1923.

Time of Reading 7:30 P. M. Birmingham, Alabama.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here. We have had it before; see. Now, we find the conditions throughout this system are better than we had them here before. The condition of the sympathetic and sensory organism show the difference in their vibration to the sensory system, and to the nerves that govern those portions of the body through the upper dorsal and cervical region, and their connection with the auditory nerves.

2. We find that vibration only needs to be established, making coordination between the sympathetic, the sensory and the cerebro-spinal, or that which will bring the consciousness to the body of the vibration to the auditory forces.

3. Keep that to the system as we have given here - that is that of the vibration necessary to make the connection between the nervous system. Do that.

4. (Q) How long should the treatment be continued? Osteopathic? (A) Only as the forces as given for the cleansing of the portions of the body, just sufficient to keep the connection between the nervous system proper in their proper channels - once a month or once in two months, see.

5. (Q) Is the battery that is being used correct? (A) It is not being used now. The system shows the effect that has been given in the system itself. Keep that which has been given from time to time.

6. (Q) In what form and manner should the battery be made? (A) Just as we have given here.

7. (Q) Has the battery been used in the right way? (A) Being used in the right way.

8. (Q) How long will it be before the body will hear normally? (A) When the vibrations have reached through sufficiently to reach through, making the connection between the sympathetic and the cerebro-spinal, or establish the connection. Some are live at present. There are vibrations that come at present. They are not properly coordinating as well. Keep these up. Keep up the vibrations. A sufficient amount of the adjustment to keep the vibrations and the nerve forces guided in their proper channels. This body will hear if these are kept up. We are through.

Birmingham, Ala.

Dear Mr. Cayce -

Mr. [4453] and I read every line in your booklet and enjoyed it very much.

We often think of you and wondered where you were.

Am so glad you have opened up an institution. Am sure you will be successful.

Mr. [4453] had a time shortly after you left. Pus formed on his brain and stuck the tissues together. The Dr. said they were stuck so long that they dried up which was cause of deafness. They tell us there is absolutely no chance of his ever hearing again.

R2. 6/2/26 EC’s letter to Mr. [4453] and wife:

Birmingham, Alabama

My dear Good People:-

I was certainly very glad to hear from you again. I am indeed sorry to know that Mr. [4453] has had such a hard time and that the doctors feel there is no hope now for his gaining his hearing again. I know how this has worried you, Mrs. […] but I am in hopes that you both are taking this in the right way and manner. Possibly, the doctors are in error. At least, we can make the best of the conditions as we find them, and perhaps our crosses prove a blessing, if we will only go about it in the right way. I certainly do wish that it was so I could meet you good folks again, and I am in hopes that such will be the case before many more months. Why can’t you all make a visit to Virginia Beach? I am sure that you would find something that would make it worth while, and we would be mighty glad to have you.

Mr. Mohr is not with me at the present time. In fact, he hasn’t been since soon after I left Birmingham. He is now located in Tampa, Florida. I was, for a couple of years, in Ohio, as perhaps you know - not so very far from Mr. Mohr’s home. I saw him a great many times while I lived in Dayton. He, as you know, lived in Columbus. His family lives there yet. He has been working in Florida during this rush, and I am in hopes has done well. I hear from him every once in a while.
