This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the Tutwiler Hotel, Birmingham, Alabama, this 19th day of December, 1922.

[Edgar Cayce; Frank E. Mohr, Conductor; Fay Autry, Steno.]

Time of Reading 10:22 A. M. Birmingham, Alabama.

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here. Now, the abnormal conditions in this body are many of different natures, for the effect as produced comes from specific cause, but the reflexes to the various portions of the body affects the body in different ways, you see.

  2. Now these are conditions as we find them in this body, [4454] we are speaking of, Birmingham, Alabama: First, the blood supply in the body is very good, yet the action of the blood supply in its circulation carries much of the conditions as exist in the system for it receives these impressions, as it were, from the nerve conditions in the body and taking the condition of the supersensitive body as this body is, carries the condition through the system, and it becomes exaggerated again in different parts of the body at different times, you see. The number of the red blood cells are over charged. The action of the white blood cells and lucosite [leukocyte] is too sensitive, as we would say, in the system.

  3. The nervous forces in the body, we find the brain force very good. The cerebro spinal action of the body, very good. The body must reason though for individual things or actions is the body itself. The sympathetic nervous system is the one in this body that suffers, it taking the conditions over the system and though the impinionments or centers of the cerebro spinal causes reflexes in portions of the body. The sympathetic with its supersensitiveness partakes of the conditions more than of the cerebro spinal forces.

  4. The action of the organs themselves as we find the condition through the throat at times is from reflexes. The conditions as we find through the lung forces are partaking of the conditions in the body. Through the digestive tract, poor assimilation at times, produced by the over-taxed condition in the body. Through the hepatic circulation we find the over-charge to the system, the supersensitive forces in the body have their reflexes in this as are shown in the organs of the pelvis, where the seat of the trouble begins, you see.

  5. To bring the forces to the perfect co-ordination in the body, to give the correct incentives to the whole system, to have the rebuilding forces carried through the system and give the best to the body and to rebuild in its normal forces, we would take that in the system that will give the incentive to the body through the nerve action existing in the assimilation in the digestive forces give the correct incentives through the hepatic circulation and acting with these organs, you see, also to the body, we would give the stimulus of reaction to the whole spinal column, so we will have rest to the body in its normal way through that of manipulation to the whole body, see, osteopathic forces.

  6. The medicinal properties, we would take would be as this:

Tincture of Valerian…4 ounces, Potassium Iodide…10 grains, Potassium Bromide…60 grains, Capsicum…1 grain, Elixir Calisaya…3 ounces.

Simple syrup sufficient to make eleven ounces. The dose of this would be teaspoonful each evening, see. The manipulation to the whole body should be every other day. Do that.

  1. Now the action of these properties in the system with the manipulation is to these organs and the functioning of same, the Valerian, the active principle is to the ganglion of the nerve forces, especially, to that of pneumogastric. The Iodide to the functioning of the organs of the pelvis producing in the nervous system, a reaction to the functioning of the glands in the system producing the conditions of functioning in the pelvis, you see, genitory organs and the effect, thereof. Of the Bromide a sedative to the functioning of the glands in the intestinal tract, that is, with the manipulation in this portion of the body now, and to the whole blood supply counteracted by the Calisaya, which is for the blood forces and the cellular of same. The Capsicum as a stimulant to digestion and the whole body. The manipulation to some perfect assimilation and elimination in the body, see. Do as we have given for this body, [4454] Birmingham, Ala. We are through.
