This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 8th day of June, 1927, in accordance with request made by her brother-in-law, Mr. [2265].

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here.

3. Now, we find there are those conditions that at times give distress in the physical forces of the body. These have to do with conditions that have arisen in the system through hindrances in the eliminations, and specific conditions resulting from same attacking, as it were, tissue - especially mucous producing tissue in various portions of the body, changing according to the cycle of disturbance in various parts of system.

4. These, then, are conditions as we find them. First:

5. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this very good in quantity - not so good in quality, according to that disturbance arising in system, and the attempt of the organs to throw off or eliminate same. Hence the blood becomes overcharged with such diffused forces at times.

6. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, this we find shows the effects of disturbance, especially in the centers where there is the radiation of nerve supply to those conditions that produce the disturbance, or in the region of such disturbance. The condition, then, may be called that of a catarrhal nature, and needs be eliminated from the system, that the greater distress in the organs proper may not result from same.

7. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF ORGANS, we find there are times when the distress in head, nasal cavity, throat and bronchials, gives distress to the organs of the sensory system - ringing or humming of ears - burning sensations in the eye or optic regions - the filling of throat with phlegm, tendency to clear same at times. These are but RESULTS of the disturbance in the body.

8. Lungs are good, save when such disturbance unbalances the circulation.

9. Stomach - and digestion also - is seen disturbed by this same condition. Not so much as mucous producing plasm in other portions of body, but occasionally the disturbance is here also - especially in the pyloric end of the stomach. Hence the pancreas and liver become congested and slow in action, or a form of indigestion resulting from same, followed by disturbances through the intestinal digestion and eliminations.

10. The whole system, as a whole, shows effects, rather than organic disturbance at present - though, allowed to remain, this might bring on these other conditions.

11. To eliminate same, we would - through osteopathic manipulation - so relax those centers in the cervical and the lumbar regions, that the body would eliminate more thoroughly, producing tautness through the dorsal centers - especially from the 6th to the 9th dorsal, that more stimulation may radiate from these centers to the upper digestion and the diaphragm region.

12. Also applying the violet ray - or ultra violet ray - for the clarification of blood supply and the increased vibration necessary to bring about the better coordination in cell producing plasm in the body. This would require, as we see, some thirteen (13) osteopathic adjustments, with twelve to fourteen (12 to 14) treatments with the penetrating force - red - or ultra violet ray.

R1. 7/1/27 Mr. [2265]‘s letter: “We got your reading OK for my wife’s sister [4484]. She said it correctly described her ailments and partial what her doctor said except he never could prescribe anything to cure her.

“She promised me she would get started on the treatments as soon as she gets back home and will tell me how she comes out. I will, of course, tell you.”

R2. 10/16/29 Questionnaire letter sent to brother-in-law.

R3. 10/19/29 Brother-in-law’s reply: “This is to let you know that my sister-in-law, [4484] carried out the suggestions given in Mr. Cayce’s psychic reading of 6/8/27 and while she received some little relief, she continued to rapidly lose weight and was unable to eat any solid foods whatever. Her diet for about two years prior to the date of your reading was entirely liquid. She finally became so weakened from the continued loss in weight, the fact that she was quite an active woman and in fact had to work to assist in her own livelihood made it necessary for her to give up. A specialist was called in and after X-raying her teeth it was decided that her troubles were caused by them. All of the teeth were removed by slow stages and within a very short time she was able to eat practically any food she desired and has since then rapidly regained flesh and is now in good health. I do not have before me the reading which Mr. Cayce gave, but it is my recollection that there was an indication in it that a subsequent reading would be necessary after the osteopathic treatments had been given. I think my sister-in law would have been perfectly willing to have asked for another reading and to follow its suggestions but her husband not being acquainted with the shole [whole?] scheme as well as myself, seriously objected to any further readings. My sister-in-law was in accord with the idea entirely but she was worn down so much in health that she had no say in the matter.”
