This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the Ansley Hotel, Atlanta, Georgia, this 26th day of January, 1923.

Time of Reading 7:30 P. M. …, Alabama.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here. We have had this before, you see. Now we find that there are a great many changes in this body since we had it before. In many respects the body is better.

2. We would change some of the properties that would be given this body at the present time. We would give this, now, in the system, rather than the other properties:

3. To one gallon of rain water, or distilled water, we would add: 8 ounces of sage. Reduce this by simmering, not boiling, to one quart. We would then strain, and while warm add:

Beet Sugar…4 ounces, first dissolved in sufficient hot water to dissolve it - then Gin…6 ounces, (Gordon’s Gin, preferred); Ambergris…10 grains, dissolved in 1 ounce of Alcohol, with Cinnamon…15 grains, Oil of Peppermint…5 minims.

The dose would be two teaspoonsful three times each day, about thirty minutes before meals.

4. Every fifth day we would take one-half glass of water with one-half teaspoonful of phosphate of soda dissolved in it, with two drops of rectified white pine, and five drops of syrup of sarsaparilla.

5. Let the diet be not much of meats, but that that will prove to be not hard to digest in the system. Do that.

6. (Q) If these medicines are taken will it restore the body to normal health? (A) It will assist toward gaining its normal health. The physical must be guided by the mental forces as well.

“I have not been out on the road since last Oct. but it seems or looks as if I must again take up the road, as I fear Mr. [4499] is not going to be able to stand it. He has begun to have his old trouble again. If he does, that means I will go.”

R2. 6/23/24 EC’s letter: “Tell Mr. [4499] he had better get another look-over, if his old trouble is coming back on him again. I am sure, from the assistance he must have received the last time, if he was to take it in time now it would bar off a lot of trouble.”

R3. 12/7/24 Mr. [779]‘s letter: “Mr. [4499] has been having trouble with his throat and went to the doctor - he says they have to come out. No, not mine - unless you say so.”

R4. 12/13/24 Mr. [779]‘s letter: “Mr. [4499] is better now, but has not yet had his tonsils removed. He asked me about mine today. I told him you had me O.K. - I feel more than satisfied.”

R5. 12/17/24 EC’s letter: “I’m sorry that Mr. [4499] has been having trouble. Hope he got it fixed up alright without the operation.”

R6. 11/26/36 Mr. [779]‘s letter: “Mr. [4499], my old boss man, died some four weeks ago - his health has been very bad for about two years - was not active in the business - he sold interest to a couple of young fellows about three years ago.”
