This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 27th day of May, 1927, in accordance with request made by self - Miss [4505] via Miss [349].

1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the Universe, and Universal Forces, giving the conditions that are as personalities, latent and exhibited, in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth’s plane, giving time, place, and the name, and that in that life which built or retarded the development for the entity, giving the abilities of the present entity, and that to which it may attain, and how. Your will also answer the questions regarding same that I will ask you.

2. EC: Yes, we have the entity here, and those relations with the Universe and Universal Forces, as are exhibited and as latent in the present experience.

3. In entering, we find the entity coming under those sojourned influences in Jupiter, Venus, Mercury, and Uranus. In the benevolent influences, many of those conditions and elements through which the experiences have been passed come to the aid of the entity. Hence we will find one that will rise from seemingly low position, and uncomely surroundings in many conditions, to places of high position and high estate.

4. Much moneys, much of the worldly conditions, will be brought round, and the entity will come into those experiences of prominence, socially and financially. Use same aright!

5. In the influences as are seen in the present experience, and in those conditions as are as personalities in the present surroundings:

6. We find one that is affable, lovable; yet MAKING enemies where there is no need of same being made.

7. One that has many of those elements that go to make up a full life.

8. One that means much to many.

9. One that is dependable, and one upon whom many depend, seeking the entity for counsel and for advice.

10. One that may use same aright, or may give that which will bring - in times and times to come - that which will rebound to its own undoing.

11. Well, then, that THESE be set as the first principles in the heart and in the mind of this entity:

Seek the Lord while He may be found, and while the evil day cometh not, and when thou art old thy children will not forsake thee, and thou wilt not beg for bread; for though many of those conditions that go to make the full life are before thee, in brilliant places, and in wide halls, and in splendor shalt thou be called; yet the heart may not be kept aright unless founded upon Him who GAVE the light, life, and all that is within.

13. As to the appearances in the earth’s plane, and the influences these bear upon the present experience:

In the one before this we find in that period when there was much change being made in the position of the French rules, and there were many of those chosen as the aide and as the courtier to the kings of the day. The entity then among those favored, and in the name of Viodal, changing to one of that which bore the greater power in that period, and as yet bears much power in the influence in social, and in the light of the peoples who study such elements. In the urge as is seen in the present, that desire to be in the position wherein others may be dependent and may depend upon the entity. Not only in position, but in mental abilities.

15. In the one before this we find in that period when there was much change being wrought in the land of the Tyrians, and the entity then among those who led in the rebellion against those that would bring in others from the lands above for the places of position in the court. Then in the name Ceynia. The entity gained through this period, through the ability to give aid and succor to many, and though the entity brought much suffering, much sorrow physically upon self, yet the urge as is seen is the ability to set self in that place wherein much may be expected, and much may be depended upon, from the efforts of the entity.

16. In the one before this we find in that day when the first peoples came into the south country of that now known as the Persian. The entity then among the leaders of that period, and in the household of the one setting up the new kingship, and became the head of those that worshiped in set places. Then afterward known as those of the Aryans, and of the Chaldeans, and the entity then in the name Aioa, and the entity gained and lost. Gaining through the many benefits as were brought to the peoples. Losing in setting self as one to be worshipped. In the urge is seen the ability to apply self in ANY direction the entity may choose.

17. As to the abilities and the application, much will be expected of the entity; for, as given, there comes power, place, position, through an unexpected source - for many are gathered in places that bring, as it were, seemingly unmerited conditions to the entity. Study that given, and there will be seen there needs again that opportunity for the entity to manifest that as has been merited in the earth’s experience.

18. Keep thine heart and thine body CLEAN! Do that which thou hast in hand today, for tomorrow another day dawns for thee!

20. (Q) Will it be advisable for me to enter into matrimony with the young man to whom I am now engaged [5584]? (A) No!

21. (Q) Am I in my right environment in the business world, doing the right sort of work - or would it be better to take up a different career? (A) Do that thou hast in hand! Careers and life are coming to thee!

R1. 1928 report from Miss [349] and Mrs. [189], who worked in the office with her: “[4505] married that [5584] anyway, even after the reading told her not to!”

R2. 9/14/28 [4505]‘s letter: “I wonder whether you will remember me or not - I had the pleasure of meeting you when I was employed at … That was before I married [5584]. I should appreciate it very much if you could possibly give me another reading, character and psychic reading, and also answer some questions for me. I have become very much interested in your work and would like a new reading to follow up the former one.” [Membership applications was sent, but she did not reply.]

R3. [4505]‘s husband, [5584] had two physical readings, 2/27/29 and 5/21/29.

R4. 8/31/29 [5584]‘s letter requesting a personal life reading and submitting these questions: 2. Do you advise any change in my marital relations, with respect to conduct or mode of living? 3. Will an expected inheritance within the next year make any change in my domestic relations?

R5. 9/19/29 [5584]‘s letter cancelling his Life Reading appointment and requesting a Physical Reading instead for his mother.

R6. Oral report to GD in the 1930’s from Miss [349] and Mrs. [189] that [4505] and [5584] had broken up their marriage: “shouldn’t have married in the first place, the reading warned her against it.”

R7. 2/5/51 Letter from [4505], now living on the West Coast and under another married name: “Sometime in 1927 EC gave me a reading, and I am wondering whether it would be possible for me to obtain a copy of this reading. I believe it should still be in the files because I noted one of my questions to EC in Miss Gina Cerminara’s recent book… My name at the time was [4505] and I was in N.Y. at the time.”

R8. 2/9/51 GD’s note: Mr. [5584] was an accountant by profession.

R9. 2/14/51 Letter: “My husband and I own the … Book Shop, where special emphasis is laid on books on Occult, Metaphysics and kindred subjects. You can well imagine with what enthusiasm I read THERE IS A RIVER and Miss Cerminara’s MANY MANSIONS…”

The little talk I had with you when you were in our office has only served to make me all the more interested, and I would appreciate your giving me a life reading as soon as you can possibly arrange it.”
