This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 22nd day of May, 1926, in accordance with request made by self - Miss [4506].

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for the further improvements of same.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here. We have had this before, you see. Now, while there are many changes in the conditions in and for this body since we had this here before, we find that many of those physical conditions as were first given still exist in the changing form, as per the time, the conditions, the strains, the change of circumstance, environment, and the physical debilitation in change in physical time. Yet those same conditions in some respects show some improvement, and the conditions are such that, with the small improvement in physical manner, were these taken advantage of, could we used to assist in bringing better conditions for this body. Still we find that the subjugation of the mental-physical, by one that would correctly impress the subliminal or subconscious mind with the healing, and with the helpful, healthful, suggestion, would bring the greater help, aid, assistance, to the physical body. Yet there may, at the present time, be added those physical conditions that, with the changed mentality, find the reaction in same more perceptible.

3. This subjugation should be made by one that gives the massage and adjustments of the centers in the cerebrospinal system, or by one who gives the nerve centers the incentive for normal action. This may be begun by the one so manipulating insisting that the body (during the time of treatment) keep entirely quiet, and the OPERATOR TALK CONTINUALLY, with the suggestion necessary for the improvement in the body, physical and mental, see? for with these conditions, this would gradually bring about this subjugation with the centers where the cerebrospinal and sympathetic are at junctures with each other as seen in the cervical, the dorsal, and in the whole of the sacral and lumbar region.

4. The application also of the Radium Appliance would be beneficial for the body in creating, with this suggestion, with the manipulation, the correct metabolism for the system. Do that, then. These may be given either osteopathically or neuropathically, but one that follows the nerves and muscle tissue, rather than purely mechanical adjustments in cerebrospinal system.

R1. 6/1/26 Miss [4506]‘s letter: “I thank you so for your kindly letter. It seems rather complicated in technique and did not give the name of a specific trouble - perhaps you did not see my organic trouble. I have not seen Dr. [S…] as yet - perhaps she could explain your meaning clearer…”

R2. 7/1/26 “I am awaiting my brother’s cooperation for the treatment. I am conscientious and grateful but I am at the mercy of others. I am an orphan now and trying to find a home.”

R3. 12/7/29 From Minnesota: “My need seems great. I am far from my Alabama home. I lost my mother 4 years ago - it was awful

• I had to keep up and be cheerful and have had to board with a relative, then strangers - grapple with disputes of all sorts - defend my rights when informed on - all under a nervous collapse - teeth abscess - then I came up here to be with my sister. She married again and I am with strangers. I seemed to gain first year up here, though cold here is hard on me - confines me indoors - but my back is wrong. What is it? Pain intense - each step and move is misery - noise is torture to my head. Can’t dress some days. Can’t go to my dentist to do work. Please tell me what is your diagnosis and what can relieve. My sister is in Oklahoma for a year and I am so alone here far from loved ones. Be kind and merciful to an orphan and write me at once…

R4. 6/33 “I wrote you 3 years ago and you were ill and could not give me a reading… What seems to be the trouble that makes me suffer now? Nervous exhaustion… Had Christian Science treatment - get better but much friction in my sister’s home where I live and board. Are the teeth defective? …Mrs. [3774] of …, Ala. was cured by your diagnosis of her condition, she told me… I wish I were in a happy home and had cheerful, kind words given me and not cruel ones.”

R5. Note by GD: Edgar Cayce always answered her with long, cheerful letters, but no further reading was given - since apparently she was not able to get the treatment recommended.

B1. 4/22/26 Miss [4506]‘s letter: “Mrs. [3774] of this city […, Ala.] told me you could help me if I wrote you for a statement or other information. You are wonderful, I know, and a good man - and if God will use you to help me I will be so grateful. I look well and so young for my years, but I keep so nervous and exhausted and can’t walk without fatigue. Don’t sleep well - better times than this - mind is clear and memory perfect - want to work yet hard to dress myself some days. I have to live away from my own home, as - to add to my difficulties my darling mother passed on while up north with my sister. My dream of her coming back to me exploded and my home gone - my grief for my mother now to grapple with

• and no one can love or care for you as your own mother - she was all to me. My religion has comforted me and I am cheerful generally - again I feel despondent. Tooth this week has distressed me - abscess tooth - frantic pain - what can cure me? Do I need medicine? What is wrong? Christian Science has healed many such cases and worse, too. Could I be cured by it?…”

B2. 5/3/26 Letter: “My face and figure look twenty, but I was born January 22, 1871, in Alabama. I believe Christian Science could cure me if I could have the loving care I need. I miss my mother and my home, but am grateful for creature comforts. I long to work, use my time and be useful. I am educated and talented…”
