This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 322 Grafton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, this 18th day of August, 1924, in accordance with request made by self and husband.

Time of Reading At her home, 11:30 A. M. Dayton Savings Time. …, Pa.

1. GC: You will give the physical conditions of this body at the present time, with further suggestions for the relief of same.

2. EC: Now, we find that the conditions in the body at the present time are not as good as when last we had them [according to her letter 6/13/24?], still they are better than when we had them at first. There is the eliminating forces of the system again that condition as shows how the poisons in system so clog the tissue as to produce the pressure on centers and on the tendons as to make the troubles and distresses through portions of the body. This we see is produced from the system not eliminating properly, and the suggestions as were given have not been carried out and adjustments made for the system as were given, neither has the diet been adhered to as it should have been when conditions were improved in system.

3. For the present condition we would, where the strain and stress is on the system; that is, the joints, the ligaments, those portions which cause the distress to the body, bathe these well in saturated solution of Bicarbonate of Soda. Then bind about these parts, so as to drive this solution in, very large packs of heavy sea salt, heated, so the body can have the reaction from this heat, making as hot as body can well stand. This will bring relief we see to these conditions.

4. We would take into the system those properties as found in Toris Compound. This we will find we would take in full strength. Also we would keep in the system in the food values those of predigested foods, that the toxins in system may be well absorbed, taking at least once every third day at least one tablet of Honey Charcoal, as is prepared by Battle Creek Sanatorium, and when the system has been relaxed by application; that is, by the second day at least, begin and take those adjustments and treatments as have been given, with the vibration of violet ray added to same, over all centers that are stimulated by the adjustments.

5. Do that, and we will find we will bring the relief to this body, [4517].

R1. 8/18/24 EC’s letter to husband: “I’m enclosing you, herewith, copy of the reading as gotten this morning. Apparently, from this reading, not all of the suggestions as were made in the other were carried out. I think by experience that it’s very necessary that everything that is suggested be done as it is suggested. However, we find there are suggestions given here which should give immediate relief, and I believe it would be very well for you to carry these out. I notice there is the suggestion given that she use Toris Compound. You perhaps will be able to get this at your local drug store. I remember this was made in another reading sometime ago and if my memory does not fail me it is a preparatory prescription that is put up by some medicine company in Dayton, which one I cannot tell you. I’m sure the druggist will find it for you. I think this would be the thing, though, for you to get and try out with the other suggestions as given.
