This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 105th St. & Ocean, Virginia Beach, Va., this 6th day of January, 1932, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [454], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., via Mr. [257].

1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [454], who seeks MORE DEFINITE information as to how to place her radio sketches over the air. They have been, for months, in the offices of National Broadcasting Co., and Columbia Broadcasting Co., and with leading radio advertising agents.

What further steps should be taken now? You will give definite, detailed advice and counsel to be followed by [454] in this connection, and answer the questions as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes. We find there are some definite undertakings in respect to these. These, as we find, are ESPECIALLY adaptable to those programs that deal with, or have to do in the advertising manner to household commodities, or household articles, or they may be used as special programs to fill in on definite occasions, as on Sundays, Saturdays, or the like, and should be pushed more; and while there are those that have indicated that the waiting upon the activities of others should still be relied upon, would - as we find - these be carried through those agencies in the National that John Knight or his associates are in, they would receive more prompt attention. Do that. Seek through that channel. This is one that acts in the capacity of not only as an assistant in various programs, but in PLACING programs - both for their interest to the public, for the amount of philosophy or of good that may come to a public from the style or the nature of the skit as presented, or ALSO where there are special character skits desired for a particular type or character of advertisement. Ready for questions.

3. (Q) Then John Knight is the particular one whom I should contact? (A) As we have given.

4. (Q) How could Ike Lande help me? [Isaac Lande, lawyer friend of Mr. [257]] (A) Only through introduction to those who might be of interest to the various program hunters for various articles that are desirous. Not PARTICULARLY, save in the social status.

5. (Q) Would you suggest a manager, and whom in particular? (A) After there has been a presentation of a group of such skits, then such may be considered.

6. (Q) What PARTICULAR household commodity should they advertise? (A) Any of those that advertise those of particular brands of any of household commodities.

7. (Q) Will I get these sketches placed eventually, and if so, when? (A) That’s questioning the very things we have told? Try ‘em and see! That’s the best way to answer it for herself!

8. (Q) Should I be persistent or passive about working toward placing them? (A) Be persistent, as has been given!

9. (Q) Can any suggestion be made as to how to hurry whoever will have the matter in charge? (A) Keep insisting that they make the proper approaches. Through this body, or this individual - who may approach other individuals within the same group - for this, we find the quicker action may be obtained.

10. (Q) Any further advice regarding this matter? (A) Do this at present, and then we may give further!

R1. 1/9/32 EC’s letter: “I have no earthly idea who this John Knight can be. I’ve never heard of but one, and he has long since passed on. I trust you will be able to locate the one the information had reference to, who is associated with the NBC Station. However, I would interpret the rdg. to mean that he will be able to lead you to the group, rather than being able to handle it himself. I may be wrong, but that’s my interpretation.”

R2. 1/18/32 Mrs. [454]‘s reply: As for the reading…I have not been able to trace any John Knight, at N.B.C. There is a Thomas McKnight, who is a radio writer, but will not handle any outside stuff. I went right down to interview him. He thought the idea of the skits and the working out of them was splendid, but was too jammed up trying to place his own “Detective Stories” and such like to bother with me. He suggested that later on, he might have some writing for me to do…and said if he had any advertisers to offer to me…he’d use them for his own scripts. A very charming person, but wrapped in his own struggle to keep going. The only other person with a name verging on Knight, was a Raymond Knight, a singer on a musical program, “Coocoos.” I haven’t been able to get in touch with him yet, but I don’t believe he is at all influential. I’ve a date with him, however within the next two days. So I do follow up your suggestions. But as to JOHN Knight, there just ain’t no sich critter. I went down to N.B.C. at once to inquire personally.

Thanks, however. I’ll let you know if anything does come up regarding the mysterious names. As to the reading, I’m just where I was before, with no enlightenment, at all. Now what’s the next step? I am at wits end.

R3. 1/28/32 Mr. [257]‘s letter: “[454] at last found ‘John Knight’ at N.B.C., and is she thrilled!”

R4. 1/30/32 Mrs. [454]‘s letter: The most amazing thing is that there is a John Knight, and at last we’ve found him. He is associated with National and Columbia as a free lance announcer or master of ceremonies and also and actor in numerous skits. His name is never mentioned over the air, so neither of the two stations had him registered.

Through Mrs. Maurice [Else] Joseph who is psychic minded, too, I was able to meet him at her house. He has no influence with stations but in the course of conversation, he did mention three radio advertising agencies, where he is constantly being given work to do in skits. I jotted the names down and the people who contact him there, and in the reading I am going to ask for, I’ve questioned these, with [257]‘s help, in arranging them.

As you see, in all these months, even with going about to 36 advertising radio agencies, and being so approved of by the three big radio stations, nothing has come of all my endeavors. I have been tireless in going about with them.

[257] has even sent me to Ike Lande, his lawyer friend, who put me in touch with the Lehn and Fink people, but that doesn’t seem to be working out at all, either.

I cannot imagine what has been holding up the action when I hear such really low grade stuff on the air, and my sketches have been so approved, each reading.

I’ve not given up hope and now, through the Forces, I have a feeling I’ll be directed right, and we’ll have speed at last.

And so, in your hands, I’m asking for a reading as soon as ever you can manage it for me.
