This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 1st day of December, 1928, in accordance with request made by Miss [212].
[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Miss Estella Smith and Mr. L. B. Cayce.]
St. Vincent Hosp., 12th Time of Reading St. & 7th Ave., Rm. 24, 4:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Physical Suggestion)
- EC: Yes, we have the body here, [4547]. Now much may be said regarding the physical conditions as respecting this body. As for those conditions as may bring permanent relief for the body, little may be given of a permanent nature while under the present stress or conditions. There may be much said as respecting that insidious condition as produced these stresses, pressures, or pains as are manifested through the body, especially in the relationship of same to the nervous system and the effect same has had and is having, and will manifest to the cerebro-spinal centers, or the radial centers from which their impulse is given or made known to the sensory or organism of consciousness. As to that trouble as produces same, through the conditions as are being brought about by the action of conditions in the vital forces of the body itself and the operation of same in its action through the magnified effort of the system to ward the body from same, these have passed that which may bring permanent relief, without changes. That as acts as a hypnotic, or as the sedative for the system, can only bring PHYSICAL relief to the body, or easing of pain, or lessening the consciousness of same. Even this may be eased in a less violent manner, were THIS compound used, even as a dose - or this as a dosage for the body, rather than the allaying of same through injections, which can only bring the resultant force of complications, or of the condition becoming such as to bring about complications, or different conditions becoming magnified in their stoppage in the vital forces of the body under those properties have the opportunity to so operate upon the organism as to produce hemorrhage in some portion of system. This taken would at least allow an OPPORTUNITY of reaching the condition through other means, until - or unless such is done, we do not find other than the ultimate result being a dissolution, though it would be some days yet. With this, an opportunity may be gained. This would be the dosage in capsule taken:
Eucalyptol…1 minim, Canadian Balsam…1/2 minim, Rectified Oil of Turp…1/2 minim, Veronal…1/20 gram, or 1/80 grain.
This may be given once each day.
- Would this be adhered to, we would give further instructions. We are through for the present.
Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 12/5/28 EC’s letter to Miss [212]: “I was sorry indeed that I was not able to get the information for you sooner [for your friend [4547]], and I am hoping that what was gotten may be used. I’m afraid, though, under the circumstances, it will mean little or nothing… We appreciate your interest and recognize the fact that you have had little or no opportunity to know just how the information received may be applied; yet I want to say this, Miss [212]:
“This is one thing that we HAVE found - that it is absolutely necessary for there to be the sincere desire from the individual for whom the information is to be given, or from one morally responsible for the welfare of that individual. Now, possibly you think this is too fine a point for consideration, but this we have found to be true.
“I trust your friend is getting along alright and that she will soon be well. Please let us hear from you.”
R2. GD’s note later: Although we had subsequent contact with Miss [212], we never did receive a follow-up on what was done about the suggestions in 4547-1; I presume nothing. Although we have nothing in writing to indicate it, I think this was a cancer case, according to the reading itself and Miss [212]‘s sense of urgency to “save” her friend.
