This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 322 Grafton avenue, Dayton, Ohio, this 8th day of August, 1925, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [4556].

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will diagnose the case thoroughly, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

2. EC: Now, while there are many conditions that are very good throughout the physical forces of this body, there are those abnormal conditions that cause distress in portions of the system, some brought to specific conditions, and are effects of conditions existent that are latent in a manner in the system.

3. Now, these are conditions as we find them in this body, Mrs. [4556].

4. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find subnormal in its pulsation, though high in pressure, produced by the nerve condition as is deflected in the system. While this produces this abnormal condition, this is not of the system the cause of the condition.

5. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, we find in this the seat of the troubles as are shown in system, from that condition existing in the lumbar and sacral, also in the 7th and 8th dorsal. The deflections from these centers show how the various portions of system are affected and give the variations at times, causing the distress as is seen in head, nasal forces, in eyes, and in specific functioning of organs of system. These, many of same, are reflexes.

6. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES PROPER, brain forces very good.

7. The sympathetic system overcharged in its attempt to create an equilibrium through those portions of the cerebro-spinal system that are the seat and cause of deflection in those ganglions. This brings these many repressions to the system, in the form of hot and cold flushes at times. The forms of indigestion are of these makings, see?

8. Throat, lungs, bronchials, larynx, very good.

9. Heart’s action subnormal, as given.

10. Digestive system under the effects of the nerve condition and plexuses of reflex action.

11. Liver, as we find, shows the reflex condition from the lumbar region, and as the torpid condition, with an engorged right lobe.

12. Pelvic organs show forms of lesions and distresses from inflammation as is produced from adhesions that do exist in this portion of body.

13. Then, to bring the normal forces to this body, we would first take in the system these properties:

Tincture of Valerian…2 ounces, Iodide Potassium…20 grains, Bromide potassium…15 grains, Elixia Calisaya…2 ounces, Capsici…1 minim. Sufficient Simple Syrup to make…8 ounces.

14. The dose would be half a teaspoonful four times each day.

15. Take those manipulations through osteopathic forces as will relieve the condition in the lumbar and sacral region, also relaxing those muscular conditions that show congestion in the upper dorsal, with the general treatment or relaxing, see? Adding also those vibrations as will be found from Radio-Active Forces of Carbon Steel, with Cold Water. These should be applied to the body each evening when the body rests, for hour to two hours, see? This will give the system the normal flow as incentive is set by medicinal properties in nerve system, the relaxing of system through osteopathic forces, and heat applied, either in the alpine ray or of violet ray, or of accentuated electric heat in the sacral and lumbar regions, so that this portion of system would respond to these. Some six to eight treatments, osteopathically, with heat. One quantity of medicinal properties.

16. These should, as we find, bring the normal forces to this body.

17. In the mental forces of system, these we find developed beyond the normal, especially in that of the psychological forces, and may be developed to that point wherein the system will respond and exercise psychic forces within its own realm.

Dear Mrs. [4556]

I am enclosing you, herewith, the reading as was gotten this morning. I certainly am in hopes that this will prove instructive and beneficial. I notice the suggestion is medicinal properties and osteopathic treatment, as well as a battery appliance. The prescription, I am sure you can get there at any drug store. I would suggest that you carry this reading to Dr. Frank Jones of your city. I know Dr. Jones many years ago. I’m sure he will remember me, if you will tell him that I worked with him at Potter’s Book Store. He has seen some of this work and I feel sure will be glad to go over your condition for you and check this up. I shall be very glad if you will do this and let me know just what he has to say. Give him my regards, please, and tell him I’d like to hear from him.

As for the battery, I would advise that you write Mr. T. B. Brown, % Brookins Manufacturing Co., Dayton, Ohio. I’m sure he can give you information as regarding this appliance.

R2. 8/8/25 EC’s letter to Dr. Jones:

Dr. Frank Jones, Macon, Ga.

Dear Frank:-

No doubt you will be surprised to have a word from me. I’ve thought of you a great many times in the years that have passed since I last saw you. Only today we had a request for some of the work I used to do and am still doing, from a lady in your city, a Mrs. [4556]. In this she was referred to an osteopath. I have suggested that she bring this to you. I’m in hopes that you will treat this as kindly as possible under the circumstances, but assure you I do not desire for you to subscribe to something you do not find that you should conscientiously do. I’m glad to say, however, that the work is meeting with favorable comment from the Osteopath Association of New York, Kentucky, Alabama, and the President of the Osteopath Association who is located here [Dr. Wm. A. Gravett], or ex-president I believe he is now, though he was president when I first met him. All of these have had some wonderful results with same.

As far as I know, the reading is good. Have had X-rays, and fluoroscopic examinations by both M.D. and Chiropractor. The Chiropractor examined about 6 mos. ago. Said right kidney & liver were bad, heart enlarged. They were looking for cause of pain (intense at times) in the right side. I have concluded that the cause was a gas bacillus - as I have not suffered with an attack since I have changed my diet and lessened the intake of food. I have not yet taken the report to Dr. Jones but will do so as soon as I can. He has treated me for this side trouble and said he could cure me if I would continue the treatment, which I would gladly have done, had I had the means. Since then, I have been in Atlanta and was treated by Dr. Woolard, Chiropractor, for about six weeks. Will write you further when I consult Dr. Jones.
