This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 9th day of June, 1931, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [4579], through her husband, and through Mr. W. Waldbaum.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading Set bet. 11:00 to 12:00 A. M. Taken 4:10 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, Mrs. [4579]. Now, as we find, there are specific conditions as cause the greater distress in the physical forces of the body. While these produce some conditions that are neurotic in their aspect, and while the aspects take on the form of imaginative conditions, those of wanderings and hallucinations at times, these are not NECESSARILY even mental aberrations, but from physical conditions’ effects on the nervous systems, both on cerebrospinal and sympathetic, or in the cerebrospinal and in conjunction WITH the branch ends OF the sympathetic - which produce such reactions in the body.

  2. As we find, in times back there was an injury to the END of the spine, or in the coccyx end, so that the curve, or the improper position of same, produces pressures in the nervous system, and systems, in such a way and manner as to bring about the disturbances as are seen in many portions of the body. These taking on different forms under different conditions, for there are those that, making the depressions in the system through the pressure on the nervous forces of the body, form those that prevent the proper blood distribution by making taut those in the system as would make for distributions of that assimilated. Hence the blood supply at times apparently becomes disordered, as into the characterizations, forming that as may be termed the rash at times, or itching sensation over the body, pains - severe pains in the base of the skull, at the top of the head, the nose and the face itching at other times. These are but those REFLECTIONS, as we find, as well as those of other disorders as it brings. The body becomes restless, irritated easily, at other times depressed, as if being in a crowd or among peoples would SMOTHER the body; the feelings of flushes all over the system, that there must be more air into the lungs, when it is nerves’ reaction, as we find, from the whole of the pressure being brought about by those changes as wrought in the system by those activities that have increased those pressures.

  3. In meeting, then, the needs of the conditions, we would have those manipulations, osteopathically given, of the whole of the cerebrospinal system. We would, by gradual pressure - relaxing the body before the pressure is brought to bear, with hot packs over the sacral, the coccyx region - gradually straighten, or align, this end.

  4. At the same times, or at least twice to three times each week, we would apply those of the Infra Red light over the sacral and lumbar area - see? from twenty to fifty minutes, sufficiently far from the body that there may be no reaction by the lights on the system - see? Be well were the reflections from the light - that is, that upon which the body lies while light is given should be of that material that would not allow the lights to pass on through - see? Then, heavy green baize, or heavy green cloth, over lead or glass - of mirrored glass - would be that upon which the body would be placed when light is given.

  5. Relax the body thoroughly before these are given, see - that is, the adjustments - and we will find we may gradually get away from the necessity of the use of sedatives in any form, or the use of properties to produce the proper reaction through the digestive system.

  6. We would have the diets those that are of a well balanced, building - nerve and blood building - diet.

  7. Keep in the open, and about those of pleasant company, as much as possible, and we will bring about normal forces - for this body, if this is followed closely.

  8. Ready for questions.

  9. (Q) Why do I have so much gas and sour stomach all the time? (A) Produced from nervous reaction from those forces as come from improper assimilation. With the general manipulation, with the treatment of the pelvis region, with the lights, we will find we will have more of the activity through the intestinal system.

  10. (Q) How can I cure my constipation? (A) This, as is seen, is from a pressure in the lower end of the colon itself, and with this manipulation, the peristaltic movement of the whole body will be bettered that is, the whole intestinal body, to be sure.

  11. (Q) Why can’t I gain weight? (A) The over-nervous condition. The relief of this pressure, with the diets well balanced, we will get the proper weight; which should be about one-twenty, to one-thirty.

  12. (Q) Why do I get all upset when I go out? (A) The nervous reaction from pressures in the coccyx region.

  13. (Q) How often should the manipulations be given? (A) About twice to three times each week - Dr. Grace Berger!

  14. (Q) Should adjustments be made at each treatment? (A) They will be made about once, or twice each week the GENERAL manipulations, with the lights whenever adjustments are made - see?

  15. We are through for the present.
