This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Virginia, this 20th day of August, 1928, in accordance with request made by her son, Mr. [5540].

[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. L. B. Cayce.]

Time of Reading … Street, 5:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Indiana. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here.

  2. Now, we find there are many elements or conditions contributing to the disturbing conditions in this body. These, as we find, have been of a gradual growth in some portions until such stages were reached where conditions became constitutional; then, with accentuations, brought about those of acute nature in some functioning, as in the locomotion. While those conditions contributing directly to these are hidden in a manner, as it were, yet these now as exhibited or manifested are of the nature as to be acute, in the fact that those of locomotion in certain directions bring about reactions that were of voluntary, becoming involuntary in reaction.

  3. Now these conditions have, as given, been of a growth that came from specific conditions existent that may be located, and when these causes directly are removed there will be then the gradual increase in the ability to add to the system those properties, changing according to the cycle of vibration as will be set up in the system from time to time, those elements and those conditions and vibrations that will bring much better activity, much better reactions, through the whole nerve system, and the relief will be BETTERED for the entire system. While the normal may not be ENTIRELY brought about, these may be assisted to such an extent as to bring many days of happiness to the body.

  4. In the lumbar region there is, first, that indication of the lesion that has brought about much of the troubles as the body has experienced in the past, THROUGH the pressure produced by this lesion on the organs of the lower or false pelvis, and the conditions contributing thereto to the hepatic circulation, brought about those conditions in the functioning of organs proper that brought an UNBALANCED condition to the metabolism or katabolism (or both) for the whole system. Hence when the pressure becomes such as there were thrown off into the system those poisons that attacked the vital portion of the serums of the body, these show their effect in the ends of muscle and tissue in portions of the system. Hence the contraction as was brought about in this period of the condition. When this again reached that as attacked the NERVE supply, especially in the sympathetic system, by the pressure produced in the lumbar and lower dorsal region, then becoming involved, the changes came about that are exhibited or inhibited in the body at the present.

  5. Now, to meet the needs of those conditions at the present: First we would use those packs of mud that may be attained or gotten from the nearest of the free flowing streams where the body resides. These should be applied each day, morning OR evening, especially to the LUMBAR and SACRAL region. After being applied for the period of twelve to twenty-four hours, the body should be cleansed across this portion of the system, and these vertebrae - these portions of system - thoroughly massaged with equal parts of olive oil and tincture of myrrh. This then should be allowed to rest for four to six hours. Then the new application.

  6. This should be kept up for ten days to two weeks, before there is begun the manipulation that would bring a correction for the lesion existent.

  7. At the same period that these are being used, use that which will act as the antiseptic for the whole respiratory system and blood stream, especially coming THROUGH respiratory system, as an inhalant, which should be used night and morning, or whenever there is such pressure caused as to produce over irritation, see? That preparation in this proportion:

  8. To 6 ounces of pure grain alcohol, add:

Eucalyptol, Oil of…24 drops, Canadian Balsam…10 drops, Rectified Oil of Turp…5 drops, Rectified Creosote…8 drops, Tolu in solution…1/4 ounce.

  1. Keep this in a glass corked container at least twice the size of the volume, or in a ten to twelve ounce container. Shake solution only just before inhalation is made, both through nostril and through mouth.

  2. As an active force for the system, use clary water prepared in THIS manner: To 8 ounces of dried garden sage, add 16 ounces of distilled water. Reduce by simmering (not boiling) to one-half the quantity. Strain while warm, then add 2 ounces simple syrup, 15 grains Ambergris dissolved in 1 ounce of grain alcohol, 4 ounces Gordon Gin, 3 drams Cinnamon in stick.

  3. The dose would be (and shaken together before the dose is taken) teaspoonful half an hour before the meals.

  4. The meals should consist principally of those elements that are easily assimilated. Necessary to change occasionally, that the body does not grow too tired.

  5. Keep as much fresh air as the body can possibly get.

  6. Keep the mind active through cheery, cheerful company.

  7. After these have been applied for the proper period, or for twenty-eight days (that is, including the adjustments osteopathically in the lumbar and sacral region), we would give further instructions for the body.

  8. We are through for the present.
