This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 7th day of September, 1927, in accordance with request made by her husband, via Mr. David E. Kahn.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mrs. T. B. House.]

Time of Reading 11:20 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.Y.

  1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions; also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

  2. EC: We have the body here.

  3. Now, we find there are those conditions which give rise to distresses in the physical functioning of the body, and these have to do with specific conditions that have existed for times back, and the resultant effect of these conditions as has been to produce in the body that resultant condition of the gradual disturbance as produced by these reflex forces in their functioning in the physical forces of the body, and the system attempting to adjust itself to meet the needs of the conditions. See? Hence we have many debilitations; that is, weakened conditions in the functioning of the organs of the body, without very many specific RESULTANT conditions in the physical functioning, though specific conditions existing in the physical structural conditions of the body that are abnormal, and these are conditions as we find them in this body, Mrs. [4598] we are speaking of: First:

  4. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find shows the lack of the replenishing or the rebuilding forces as is necessary to keep a normal equilibrium in the body. Not that the condition is the EFFECT of the disturbance in the blood supply, but rather the RESULT of the condition in the physical forces of the body.

  5. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, in this we find much disturbance through those conditions as are existent in the upper dorsal and in the lumbar region. These are the results - that is, in nerve condition - of impingements in the cerebro-spinal system, and the resultant condition both in lung and in the throat and upper portion of the body, as well as that through the mesenteric system and those portions of the functioning through the hepatic circulation, are the resultant effects of these impingements and the disturbance that has been produced by the attempt to correct the condition without attempting to correct the CAUSE of the condition.

  6. IN THE PHYSICAL FUNCTIONING OF THE BODY, these - as seen from that as given - show that many organs of the body are disturbed. The body always not entirely well, yet not always sick - but distressed, and there are periods - especially when the functioning of the organs bring about greater distresses through those of indiscretions to system or those of congestion that brings distress to many portions of the system.

  7. To meet the needs of this condition in this body will be to BUILD in the physical forces that as will bring about the treatments in the system while the corrections are being made. Hence it will be found necessary to change the effects, to bring the normal forces to this body, which should be EASILY brought about, would the body adhere to those things necessary for the physical conditions to be brought to a normal condition in this body.

  8. First, through osteopathic manipulation, correct those conditions existent in the upper dorsal region, also in the lumbar and pelvic region. At least twenty-six (26) adjustments and treatments should be made or given the body, before the change for the physical condition to be completed.

  9. While these osteopathic treatments and adjustments are being given, then give these properties:

  10. To one-half (1/2) gallon of rain water, add:

Wild Cherry Bark…2 ounces, Sassafras Root Bark…1/2 ounce, Yellow Dock Root…1/2 ounce, Burdock Root…1/2 ounce, Sarsaparilla Root…1 ounce, Elder Flower…4 ounces, Peruvian Bark…1/2 ounce.

  1. Reduce this by simmering (not boiling) to one-half (1/2) the quantity. See? Strain while warm, and add two (2) ounces of pure grain alcohol, with three (3) drams Balsam of Tolu cut in it. Adding Tincture of Capsici three (3) minims.

  2. Shake solution together before the dose is taken. The dose should be half a teaspoonful four (4) times each day.

  3. Let the diet of the body be in keeping with those corrections as are being made through the osteopathic adjustments, or let the osteopath adjuster give the diet to coincide with that as being given in treatment, for the medicinal properties are to correct the assimilations and eliminations, with the system equalized in nerve energy throughout.

  4. When the treatments and the medicinal properties have been taken, then we would give further corrections for this body to be perfectly normal. We are through for the present.
