This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 20th day of November, 1942, in accordance with request made by the self Mr. [462], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Norfolk Navy Yard, Time of Reading Bldg. 268, Shop 38, 3:50 to 4:05 P. M. Eastern War Time. on ground floor, Portsmouth side, Norfolk, Virginia.

  1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

  2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [462].

  3. As we find, while there is much to be desired in some respects, many conditions show a strengthening of the body-forces since last we had same here.

  4. The use of those properties indicated bring relief for the disturbances which have been indicated, when there are the precautions and not an overtaxation.

  5. We would keep the occasional balancing through a deep, thorough manipulation osteopathically given, to prevent the localizing of disturbances produced by lack of proper eliminations.

  6. Keep the eliminations in as good order as practical.

  7. These we find should keep bettered conditions for the body.

  8. Ready for questions.

  9. (Q) What is reason and treatment for present distress in stomach? (A) This is lack of the proper eliminations and the regurgitation through portions of the alimentary canal. A good, high enema would materially aid; this, though, scientifically given, and a rest period of at least several hours after such is given.

Do use salt and soda in the proportions that have been indicated in all waters used, however, and Glyco-Thymoline in the rinse water.

  1. (Q) Does my heart skip a beat intermittently, or is there organic trouble? (A) This as we find is not organic, but rather a sympathetic condition to those disturbances through eliminating channels.

  2. (Q) Is there anything I could take immediately to give quick relief when these spells occur? (A) As we find, any good settling of the stomach, as of any digestive force, - these as we find are the better natures. [Alcaroid, Bi-So-Dol, etc.?] Do not take sedatives or such natures, as to “step up” or quicken the pulse, but a drainage set up - as indicated - should correct the causes and thus eliminate any great quantity or any frequent intervals of recurrence.

For the body in the present, as we find, an eliminant that carries a very small quantity of stimuli to the general toning of system, as a heart stimuli, would be better; and do the things indicated, see?

  1. (Q) What medicine would that be, that would carry the heart stimulant? (A) Any preparation that carries such in that combination. Such as Alophen would be a good eliminant.

  2. (Q) Why do I vomit my food, especially liquids, and especially after the morning meal? (A) These are periods after there has been the recurrent condition of a choking, or lack of movement through the alimentary canal, especially colon, and this produces regurgitation.

  3. (Q) Would it be best to cut out coffee? If so, what would be a good substitute for me? (A) Not necessarily cut it out, just so there is not milk or cream taken in same. The quantity may be reduced, but we would not cut same out. There is a good stimulant in same, and some food values.

  4. (Q) Should I drink milk? (A) Milk of evening or noon would be very well.

  5. (Q) Should my breakfast cereal be hot or cold? (A) Hot would be the better.

  6. (Q) Are the shoes I am wearing today those best suited for my feet? (A) These are very good.

  7. (Q) Will wearing them help the circulation and keep feet warmer? (A) They will help circulation, but some of the stimulations needed through the lumbar and sacral area will be necessary to step up the circulation, as well as the setting up of drainages better from the colon area.

  8. (Q) What can I do to make my hair grow thicker, especially on top of my head? (A) Use the crude oil, followed with a little White Vaseline rubbed into same - about once a week.

  9. (Q) Should I continue taking vitamins A and D and B Complex? (A) They will do more good after a thorough cleansing has been done.

  10. (Q) Would exercise improve my eyesight, or should I use glasses? (A) Best to be fitted for glasses.

  11. (Q) Where should I have them fitted? (A) With anyone in whom the body has confidence, or is in sympathy with, as to the abilities to fit same.

  12. (Q) What doctor would be suggested for the adjustments or manipulations? (A) Parker [Dr. James R. Parker, M.D.] for the colonics, Irvin [Dr. C. W. Irvin, D.O.] for the manipulations.

  13. (Q) The itching in rectum is better but isn’t well yet. What advice now? (A) Do as indicated. This is part of the disturbance, see? Hence the needs for the eliminations throughout the colon, for some mucous is gathering there. When there is the itching in the rectum, do use that as we have indicated, but AFTERWARD - a few weeks - there will have to be a good colonic.

  14. We are through with this Reading.
