This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Va. Beach, Va., this 14th day of December, 1932, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [4628], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. Ernest W. Zentgraf.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mildred Davis and L. B. Cayce.]
Time of Reading 10:40 to 11:00 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York, N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body, [4628]. The attitude of the body should be conducive to gaining the understanding and the proper results.
-
Now, as we find, there are some definite conditions that are disturbing in the physical functioning of this body. While the conditions are not so alarming in the present, without efforts to correct the disturbances in their beginnings (and in their present effect upon the general system) these will grow and expand to become more distressing, involving other conditions that would be harder to eliminate or to correct in the system.
-
As we find in the present, these are the conditions that disturb this body, [4628], we are speaking of:
-
First, there are changes taking place in the system through the natural consequence of body becoming over-charged with a surplus of drosses, or refuse forces, or poisons in the system, by the accumulation of elements that are unnecessary for the better resuscitation in the system.
-
This tends to make for those pressures that become magnified, or show in their activity along the sympathetic and cerebro-spinal system, making for the FEELINGS or reactions such as these:
-
At periods there are the feelings as of too great a FULLNESS in the respiratory system, or a tendency for shortness of breath, headaches in various portions of the head - especially at the top of the head; burning sensation at times in eyes, with a period occasionally of drumming or noises in head; tendency for bad tastes in mouth, with irregularity as to the activity of kidneys; the feet at times and lower limbs give some disturbance, as of being either cold or too full in their circulation - while not swelling so much, yet a fullness. This may be termed from the pathological condition as being a metabolism that is particularly disturbed at the time.
-
Then, this makes for the quickness, or the shortness, or heaviness of the circulation; though, as we find, no ORGANIC disturbance in any portion of the body in the present, only those of reflex action that disturb the varied functionings of the organs in the system at present.
-
As we find, then, there is needed that attention which will make for an equalizing and an elimination of a nature or character that would bring about or create the COORDINATIONS in the system, to the extent as to cleanse the system of the excess poisons and - through those periods of changes in the activities of various functions in the system - create the proper equilibrium and proper coordination in their functionings, creating the proper balance of the necessary elements within the system to bring this about. Also we would use with the same, and during those periods, the proper manipulation and adjustments as to make for the relaxing of those centers all along the cerebro-spinal system, especially through those areas where the cerebro-spinal and sympathetic plexus coordinate in their activity, both to the impulses of the body as respecting those imaginative and active forces of the reflexes in the mental forces, and to those reactions through the physical functions and physical reactions to the various organisms of the body.
-
Then, in meeting the needs of these conditions in the present for this body, [4628], we would first have prepared these properties: To 2 ounces of simple syrup we would add:
Tincture of Valerian…1 ounce, Elixir of Calisaya…1 ounce, 10% solution Iodide of Potassium…10 minims, 10% solution Bromide of Potassium…20 minims, Tincture of Stillingia…40 minims, Tincture of Capsici…1 minim.
-
Shake the solution together before the dose is taken, which would be a quarter teaspoonful in a little water two or three times each day; as of mornings before arising, of noons before the lunch, and before retiring.
-
We would also have, OSTEOPATHICALLY given, the general massage throughout the whole cerebro-spinal system, with special reference to those centers indicated that make for the coordination between the sympathetic and the cerebro-spinal ganglia; as in the upper cervical area, the upper dorsal area, or through the brachial plexus area, and just below to the secondary cardiac, also the lumbar area.
A GENERAL massage should be given at one treatment, while the next should be more of an adjustment and corrective treatment. Take two or three of these each week.
-
The body will be brought to a much nearer normal condition, fitting the physical forces for a better reaction mentally and physically. Do that. Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What is cause and remedy for occasional soreness on top of head? (A) This has been given. We are through for the present.

R1. 12/15/32 EC’s ltr. to [4628]:
My dear Mrs. [4628]
We are enclosing the information obtained in your reading yesterday. I do not know that I can make any comment that would be helpful until after you have gone over this yourself, and have possibly had some good osteopath check it over with you. That there is the suggestion for some medicinal properties to be taken along with the other treatments is not unusual, though I will have to admit that this often-times makes for misunderstandings. Very few osteopaths are allowed to give medicinal properties, and very few medical men give osteopathic treatments. There is an institution in the Middle West, however, where one can get a combination of such treatments, but you may be able to work this out with your local people.
This is one of the things we need to get satisfactorily set, so that individuals may be able to get proper results when they seek information through these channels.
You may already have a good osteopath; if not, you may be able to get the treatments in Reilly’s institution - which possibly comes nearer than any place in New York to working with medical and other professions. Dr. Grace Berger knows of this work also, but as to whether she would be willing for the medicinal properties to be taken while she is giving the osteopathic treatments I don’t know; no doubt, you would have to make this arrangement with her.
I’ll be very glad to hear from you when you have studied over the information, and to be of any service I possibly can.
Mrs. Zentgraf may be able to help you in making proper connections for the treatments, if neither of those suggested above are satisfactory.
Hoping to have been of service, and with kindest personal regards, I am
Sincerely, EC:GD
