-
GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body. You will answer any questions I may ask you regarding same.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here. Smells much like a drug store.
-
Now, we find there are those conditions that are detrimental to the better functioning of the body. Some of the conditions are of a constitutional nature, yet the effects as are produced from same are specific or centralized conditions, and have become acute in certain functionings of the system.
-
Now, these are conditions as we find them with this body, Mrs. [4637] we are speaking of:
-
IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find low in quantity, quality, and lacking in some of the elements of the BODY, or the hemoglobin itself. In the effect this produces, then, is to cause a higher than normal pulsation - though not a high blood pressure; nor is there other than an overtaxed nerve centers as produce same, save as the system - from the high nervous tension of the body, and under which it has labored - attempting to meet the needs of the conditions in the body. Now don’t confuse and say that these are CAUSES for the deficiency in blood! but a condition EXISTENT in this particular body!
-
IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, this highly sensitive and continually under strain, produced by specific conditions in the central nerve system, as well as functional conditions in the body.
-
IN THE ORGANS OF THE BODY, brain forces very good.
-
Throat, bronchials, lungs and larynx - in the head and upper portion of body there are existent those conditions that are the effect of a depleted system, a poor blood supply and an overtaxed nerve system, as well as an overacid condition in stomach, and the long standing effect of catarrh in head and stomach. These, then, are REFLEX conditions, as well as specific exterior conditions that have caused irritation, that do not respond well to LOCAL treatments for the correction of same. The basis - or the conditions must be overcome, or must be met by getting to the basis or cause of existent condition in the body, would the body recuperate wholly from this condition - as is seen in nose and mouth and throat. These are reflexes. While specific conditions, but they are not CAUSES - and the CAUSES are to be corrected first.
-
Let the system build so that proper coagulation takes place in the system, and we will find these conditions will be removed, but with a low count, with a lack of the proper replenishing forces in blood supply, it becomes hard for the body to respond to the proper coagulating forces as necessary to heal when conditions are existent as they are, see?
-
Digestive system shows the effect of this condition, as has been seen in throat and bronchials, as does the action of the heart - though NOT organic. These are FUNCTIONAL conditions, as also is seen by the way and manner the body eliminates, especially through the alimentary canal - being drained, as it were, from the upper portions of the body, the lower portion’s tendency is to be dry - lack of secretions. Hence toxins form in the system itself. Hence again the re-occurrence or reaction; yet the system continually - through the high nerve supply, through the action of the sympathetic system - attempts to meet the needs; and that is not existent IN the blood that BRINGS proper conditions, see?
-
First, then, to meet the needs, we would correct properly those subluxations existent in 8th and 9th dorsal, and in the 4th and 5th cervical, and 2nd and 3rd dorsal, see?
-
While these corrections, and while these properties are BEING corrected in system, we would take as medicinal properties, this:
-
First we would take one-half (1/2) gallon distilled water, and eight (8) ounces Wild Cherry Bark. Reduce by simmering (not boiling) to one (1) quart. Add:
Sugar…4 ounces, first dissolved in 2 ounces hot water, Sarsaparilla Compound…2 ounces, Elixir Stillingia…1/2 ounce, Essence or Tincture Burdock Root…1/2 ounce, Tincture or Essence Yellow Dock Root…1/2 ounce, Elixir Calisaya…1/4 ounce, Essence of Celery, or Tincture of Celerina…1/2 ounce, Oil of Sassafras…20 minims, Tincture of Capsici…5 minims.
Cut two (2) drams Balsam of Tolu in two (2) ounces pure grain alcohol and add to solution. The dose would be half a tablespoonful twice each day, in morning before meals and when ready to retire.
-
Use as an antiseptic for the mouth, that of Ipsab.
-
Use as an inhalant, that of Spirits of Camphor, see? for the nostrils.
-
With the diet in proper order - which will be those conditions that build blood and body, as is seen in JUICES of meat. No white bread of ANY character, and LITTLE potatoes - but much of fruit, vegetables, cereals, and such, may be taken.
-
Keep the intestinal tract open - even once a week using high enema, whether NECESSARY to move the bowels or not - CLEANSE the colon!
-
Do that, and we will find we will bring about the near normal condition for this body. Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What causes the nose to bleed? (A) This has been given.
-
We are through for the present.

R1. 3/26/28 EC’s letter to [4637]‘s daughter:
Dear Mrs. […]:
The information gotten in the reading was mailed to you, and I am certainly very much in hopes that your mother will be able to gain the relief desired by following out the information given.
Should she desire to use the mouth wash as suggested, we will be able to furnish it from here. This happens to be one of the few solutions that have been suggested in the readings for such conditions, that are made only by the druggist here at Virginia Beach. Any questions you may desire to ask, we shall be very glad to try and answer.
We are glad, too, to have the physician in charge here to cooperate with whomever your mother may choose.
Hoping to be of service, I am
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD

Mrs. […] …, Florida
Dear Mrs. […]
Replying to yours of the 31st, I am today having the Ipsab sent to your mother at the address given. The price of same is $1.00.
I feel sure if she will carry out the suggestions given, that she will get results. I think I would have Dr. Pharr to write Dr. House - Dr. T. B. House, who is associated with the work here. I feel very sure if you can get them to cooperate, there will be no trouble in getting the desired results.
Hoping to have been of service, I am

R4. 5/4/28 EC’s letter to [4637]‘s daughter:
Dear Mrs. […]:
We have yours of the 18th, with the enclosure [$1 for Ipsab], for which I thank you very much. I’d like to know the results your mother has gotten from the use of this solution, for we are trying to keep tab on such as near as we can. R5. 5/12/28 Daughter’s letter to EC:
Dear Sir:
My mother seems to think her mouth is worse, it is inflamed more since she has been using the mouth wash that you sent her. Please advise as to what course to pursue. Shall she continue to use the medicine or not?
She is more than willing to follow your advice.
Thanks for your past favors - I am Sincerely, […]
R6. 5/14/28 EC’s letter to [4637]‘s daughter:
Dear Mrs. […]:
Replying to yours of the 12th, I am certainly surprised to know your mother hasn’t gotten good results from the use of the mouth wash. Possibly the condition is so severe that the solution in the normal strength is a little strong. Suppose she tries it using half water with the wash, and see if this doesn’t get results; for there is certainly everything to commend it and I’m sure the proper use will bring results. Tell her to try this, and let me know about it.
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD [Dictated but not read]
