GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions she has submitted, as I ask them:
-
EC: As we find, there is an acute disturbance through the gall duct area; and this causes the palpitation of the heart as well as the dizziness for the body.
-
High colonics, and the stirring of the liver with a vegetable compound, as we find would be indicated for the body at present.
-
Either Inner Clean or Castoria, as combined with Syrup of Figs, taken alternately; teaspoonful every hour until there is a full evacuation of the alimentary canal. This would be most helpful.
-
Colonic irrigations will aid also.
-
Ready for questions.
-
We are through for the present.

R1. 3/20/39 Daughter [2144]‘s letter:
Dear Mr. Cayce,
I received your telegram at 7:30 same day and started right in by calling a woman whose business is high colonic irrigation [Miss Butterfass]. Of course, she has a doctor in connection with her work. She was glad to be of service to us and came out immediately to our home. After she was thru I started with the Castoria at 10 o’clock and then the Syrup of Figs at 11 o’clock and so on all thru the night and next morning until 11 a.m. when that started its good work.
I never saw such good results all the times I have taken care of my mother thru sickness. I stopped the doctors’ pills and medicine while giving the Castoria & Syrup of Figs. This morning she smiled and asked me to get her glasses so she could find out if she could still read. One eye is very weak. Her appetite is returning. She had 2 tablespoonsful of custard and 2 sips of weak tea, the first she has eaten in two weeks.
She is far from being well. She cannot lift her head from the pillow without that terrible dizzy sensation, lays on her right side, since last Monday 2:30 a.m. even the Doctor cannot turn her over.
She wanted me to write and ask you if there is more to that treatment? The Doctor said the dizziness was caused from high blood pressure and the conditions of the gall bladder. He has reduced the blood pressure considerably but she still has the dizziness.
I stopped the treatment last night about 10 o’clock so she could rest awhile. Am thinking of starting it again first thing in the morning as she passed a lot of slime, I’m sure it is the cause of her trouble.
We were at our wits end to know what to do. I asked the Doctors if I could give her a physic & one said to increase the dose of Sodium phosphate. The other one said not to give Castor oil, that salts would be the better in her case (I did not give it to her) and I told Mother what they said. Right away she wanted me to telegraph to you and find out what to do. She has very little faith in the Doctors. I will admit they helped her quite a lot. But she is so full of bile yet, which makes me want to keep on with the Castoria treatment.
I’m sure you are the means of saving her health. The Doctor was afraid of a stroke.
Please advise us if there is anything more to do about the dizziness.
Oh! yes, this woman who gives colonic irrigation treatments said, her blood is full of bile poisoning, therefore it will be some time before she is over the dizziness.
With Best Regards,
Sincerely, Miss [2144], …, Ohio
R2. 3/31/39 Daughter [2144]‘s letter:
Dear Mr. Cayce,
Mother doesn’t seem to be improving as fast as we would like to see her. She is still in bed and unable to sit up, I have followed your directions as near as possible as well as the Doctor’s.
She has taken the Syrup of Figs & Castoria treatment twice. With the enemas and high enemas. Also colonic irrigation.
She said, “she doesn’t like starving”. But when she eats anything it seems to sour in her stomach. She is still dizzy.
Doctor claims it is from high blood pressure. He left some pills & liquid for her to take to reduce it. (But she will not take the full dose)
The woman who stays with her while I’m at work, recommended Vichy Mineral Water, for the kidney trouble, & she got relief at once. So she is starting the second bottle tomorrow. Is it too soon to have another reading? for the dizziness. No, she didn’t take any of the Doctor’s medicine while taking the Syrup of Figs & Castoria.
She doesn’t pass as much bile as she did, but a little once in awhile.
My sister & husband with two children were here last night for dinner. It makes it too late for the baby to be out.
They will spend all day Sunday with us, to help me as the nurse will be home, and our friend who gets our supper ready every night will not be here either.
The weather is dark and cloudy with a cold wind blowing. The pussy willows are out and the grass is getting green.
Mother said she will write when she can. She doesn’t sit up yet.
With Best Regards to all, [2144]
