This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce this 23rd day of October, 1923.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here. Now, in this body we find there are many abnormal conditions throughout this system in the physical and they have to do with organic conditions, nerve and blood force and the effect as these produce on the system with specific conditions produced in the body by this condition. This may be assisted and given some relief by keeping close to the lines as given here.

2. Now, these are conditions as we find them for this body. First, in the blood supply there is that bacilli carried that produced the inflammation, or that as known as streptococci variety, that gives inflammation through the organs as they function and produces the temperature to the system, and also that of the variety that takes the condition in the system and makes of it a specific nature in the white blood force, in the lymphatic centers, especially.

3. The numbers of red blood cell forces deficient and being destroyed by the forces carried in the system and not eliminated properly when they are destroyed, hence the condition in the white blood force and organs of the system affected especially by that circulation. In the nerve force of the body, the whole sympathetic system we find as rebellious against conditions, yet losing control of itself as a resistive force within the system, for the deadening of the nerve centers by those conditions that produce in the centers, the act of the vibration to brain forces gives the unbalanced force in the system, hence prevents the action necessary.

4. In the cerebro-spinal, we find this condition that has been produced by these deadening forces that bring then the inability of the nerve centers to co-ordinate with the mental forces in giving its rejuvenating forces through even hope for the betterment of the condition.

5. In the functioning of the organs themselves, we find those of the sensory system have become involved through the deadening condition until within the ear and eye proper and the others in these specific, do we find conditions where that the effect of the lymphatic forces with the bacilli and the non-elimination through proper channels makes specific condition and exhumed forces from these organs by over-stimulation of the white blood in the lymphatic forces generally its effect on these organs.

6. Throat and larynx good for the condition. Lungs, with the bacilli carried, show its effect in lungs themselves proper. Organically these show how that this has produced in the cells this condition that is not being eliminated either through circulation or through the pulmonary forces in the exhaling or of the forces in the lymphatics to meet or destroy the condition as it works in the system. Digestion poor but very good for the condition. That of the liver and the hepatics high and involved sympathetically, not organically. Kidneys overtaxed and enlarged, so we have inflammation through the bladder and through all this portion of the body, see.

7. To give the relief for this body that would be of beneficial forces, we would do this: To four ounces of grain alcohol add:

Eucalyptol…20 minims, Canadian Balsam…15 minims, Oil of White Pine…10 minims, Creosote (liquid)…5 minims.

8. This would be heated and the fumes from this, - that is a small quantity of this after it is shaken together, see, - every four hours, heated and inhaled through the nostrils and mouth into the lungs, see. After this has been used, - that is the whole quantity of four ounces, heated so the evaporations come off, - use the same solution and add that of the forces as would be found in that of Heroin, one grain would be added to this solution, you see, so the effect in the inhalation would come from this, not taken internally, but breathed in.

9. During all this whole time, give the body the vibrations from that in electric forces found in the violet ray having the voltage removed, directly to all parts, even gently to those parts affected externally, see. So we will make the resistance within the system.

10. Give in the diet, those of the gruel formation, wheat, whole wheat, crushed not ground. Use that entirely, with junket and arrow root. Let all of the water as taken in the system carry small quantities of elm and yellow saffron. This is to remove inflammation in the system internally. That is, to the glass of water add small pinch of the ground elm bark and small pinch of the powdered yellow saffron. Do that, we will bring relief for this body.

R1. 10/23/23 EC’s letter to [4653]‘s daughter: “Your letter with enclosure received, and have just today been able to get this for you, a copy of which you will find enclosed.

“You will notice in one place where the prescription calls for something else to be added in second quantity, for this am sure you will have to have a Dr’s prescription, this I feel sure that you can get as it is not to be taken in the system at all but to be inhaled, and then the Violet ray used as is given here.

“Please let me hear from you from time to time and know if can at any time even attempt to try and help am more than glad to do so. Thanking you and trusting that I may be able to help in some way.”

R2. 11/19/23 Mr. George LaBryn’s letter: “The […] girl of this office has written you in regards to her father [4653] as to the effect of your treatment, such as matter coming out of his eyes and vomiting from effects of elm bark and senna tea. He has not secured the benefit of the violet ray as yet because of the poor circumstances of this family. The little girl is about the sole support of the family - they have a little crippled sister whose legs are now in casts. I am telling you this in confidence because I do not believe she wishes it to become known…”

R3. 12/2/23 [4653]‘s daughter’s letter: “Evidently you have not received my letter, but I though it would be the best to write again. I have received my reading on my father’s eyes, Mr. [4653], and as now am just a little disappointed as it does not seem to bring about any change or result. Since I have received your reading, but they usually say have faith in what you do and you will succeed, and that I am trying to do. Mr. Cayce I have had the inhalation liquid made and he has used it but from that he seems to feel dizzy and a headache seems to come after it. He has taken the elm bark, and yellow saffron but that does not stay on his stomach. These are the conditions not as final as I could make them if you were here as in writing you cannot explain so definitely. If you would kindly write me soon in answer to this letter I would be very glad.

“Hoping you have received the small sum which I sent for the reading as you know I have said if it proves half what I think it will I will repay you as good as I can. If you will you can mail the letter to Western Union Telegraph Room …, …, Chicago.”

R4. 12/6/23 EC’s letter to [4653]‘s daughter: “I have yours of the 2nd, for which I thank you. This is the first communication I have had with you since the reading was sent.

“I will try to-morrow, when I have the opportunity, to go over the reading, and outline to you just how the suggestions are to be carried out.

“I do not understand how your other letter has been misplaced, or miscarried. You will please address me to Box …, and please let me know in what form the remittance was made.”
