EC: Now, we find there are abnormal conditions with this body. They have to do with conditions existing that cause specific disturbances through the body and the effects as these conditions have on the functioning organs of the body.
-
Now these are conditions as we find them in this body, [4698], we are speaking of, First:
-
IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, we find there is sufficient of the quantity, for the pressure is above the normal in this body. We also find that this pressure is produced by specific conditions in the body and the effect as these conditions have over the functioning of portions of the system. The lymphatic circulation shows how that much of this circulation is disturbed by this pressure and conditions existing in portions of the system.
-
IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, we find in the lumbar and in the dorsal region there are forms of lesions that cause distress in the system, and have much to do with the condition as exists. These we find the specific conditions: In the 3rd lumbar we find a form of lesion lateral in formation. In the 8th dorsal we find this impingement of the branches of the nerves that feed portions of the body causes distresses in the system. This is the reflex action to the cardiac forces affects the circulation and pressure as caused. In the sympathetic system this condition has become a mental reaction on the body, for with distress in the stomach and intestines, and in portions of the body, this brings the uneasiness, the dread to the body, sympathetic condition. In the sensory organism we find, with the disturbances in circulation, that there are reflexes to the organs of sensory system.
-
IN THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, we find the brain forces very good for conditions, though the body is a one line thinker.
-
In the organs of the sensory system, the forces in the organs are under the subjugation of the nerve forces, as we see in the eye and in the hearing. This producing inflammation, for in elimination these used forces are not eliminated through their proper channels, making or causing local conditions.
-
In the lungs, larynx and throat, we have some disturbance, though this is in the throat proper, for the tonsils we find are in a condition where they exhume poisons in the system. This needs attention.
-
In the digestive tract we find the seat of troubles as produce other conditions. These caused from condition in lumbar and in dorsal region, for the pneumogastric becomes involved reflexly in conditions and digestion takes place improperly. There have been from the acid conditions in intestine and in lower end of stomach some lacerations. These are better than they have been in the past.
-
The liver and the pancreas both suffer at different times from conditions as exist through these portions of the system. High hepatic circulation, with a pressure in heart’s action, yet not organic conditions in heart. In the liver, this we find in the excretory system, or portion thereof, does not function normal, though the secretions are in better condition, making poor eliminations in portions of the body. With the high hepatics kidneys come under the strain through the hypogastrics. This is the cause of the excess of urine, system attempting to eliminate through these channels.
-
R E L I E F: Then to bring the normal forces to this body, we would take these properties in the system, with correction by the chiropractic or osteopathic forces of conditions existing in the spinal system, where under pressure the nerve conditions affect the functioning organs. Take this to produce the elimination and give incentives for the system to function properly:
-
To one gallon of rain water, we would add:
Sarsaparilla Root…4 ounces, Yellow Dock Root…2 ounces, Burdock Root…2 ounces, Calisaya Bark…2 ounces, Mandrake Root…30 grains, Buchu Leaves…15 grains, Elder Flower…2 ounces.
Reduce by simmering (not boiling) to one quart. Strain while warm and add 4 ounces grain alcohol, with 3 drams of Balsam of Tolu cut in it.
-
The dose would be two teaspoonsful before each meal, about half an hour.
-
Let the diet be those of the cereal and of fruits. Do not take meats in the system while these properties are being taken. Keep the bowels so that we do not have toxins absorbed in the system. This will assist in correcting these, but well that the body cleansed the colon by high enemas at least once each week until conditions are adjusted.
-
Do not overtax the system but rest rather while these properties are being taken. Does not mean that exercises should not be taken, or that the regular work may not be taken care of, but do not exercise too much in the sun.
-
Do that. We will find we will bring in three to five weeks the body to the condition where we may expect the normal functioning of same.

Mrs. [4698] …, Alabama
Dear Mrs. […]:
Your card and enclosure received and was forwarded me here, as I am still working on some special work here. I am enclosing you a copy of the reading as gotten this morning, which I feel sure will be of a great deal of help to Mr. [4698] if the suggestions are carried out thoroughly. I would suggest that you carry this reading to Mr. Mosely [J. M. Moseley, pharmacist at Varnon Drug Co.] at Varnon’s in Selma. I think he will have this prepared for you. I would also have him make arrangements with the chiropractor [D. Carl Thompson?] or osteopath [?] there in Selma for these adjustments as mentioned, and I believe you will find he will soon have results from same. As I understand it, there should at least half of the medicinal properties be taken before he begins the adjustments.
I will thank you very much if you would let me hear from you from time to time. As you will notice, Dr. Frisch was present when this was given. He is a medical man and interested in the results that may be obtained. Should you desire to ask him regarding case I am sure he will be glad to give you any information that he can.
Thanking you for remittance, hoping that you will have such results that you will desire to contribute further to the work that I am trying to do, I am
Yours very truly, Edgar Cayce EC:GD
R2. 8/6/24 Wife’s letter: “Mr. [4698] took the reading to Mr. Moseley at Varnon’s, but he could not fill the prescription. Will you kindly write me at once where he can get same filled?”
R3. 8/12/24 EC’s letter to wife:
Mrs. […] …, Alabama
My dear Mrs. […]
I have yours of the 6th. I’m sorry to know that Mr. [4698] could not get this prescription filled at Varnon’s. If you will send it to Earl Hall at Hamrick’s Drug Store, Montgomery, Alabama, or to Seller’s Drug Company, Birmingham, I’m sure either of these can prepare it for you at once.
Trusting you will be able to get this prepared and that Mr. [4698] will get the results, which I feel sure he will if he can get this at once, of course, as we can well understand, if there’s too long a delay there is a possibility that other conditions and complications might arise that would make this ineffective.
Be glad to hear from you from time to time, and I’m in hopes the day is not far when we may be able to have these preparations made right with the Institute.
Yours very truly, Edgar Cayce EC:GD
