This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce in Hopkinsville, Ky., this 8th day of April, 1911.

[Edgar Cayce; L. B. Cayce, Conductor; Katherine Faxon, Steno.]

Time of Reading 4:10 to 4:25 P. M. …, Indiana.

  1. LBC: You have before you Mrs. [4717], …, Ind. She is before you now, you will see her. Go over her carefully, examine her thoroughly, and tell us what is the matter with her if anything.

  2. EC: There is a great deal of trouble with her, that is abnormal. You see, the condition in this body of Mrs. [4717], we are talking about, has been of long standing. That is what has produced the condition. The condition now is better than it has been before. The first beginning, or seat of the trouble is here in the pelvis. The contraction here of the uterus in the pelvis, at the time of expulsion in embryo from it, was drawn to the wrong side, or drawn to the right side, when it settled back in the pelvis. The weight of the body on the feet afterwards has tended to produce bearing down pains until we form a lesion along here at the 1st lumbar, or in the region of the branch end of the nerves, of the cerebro-spinal nerve course. These ends that come out into the pelvis here, then produce an overtaxation of these lesions formed until we produce a muscular contraction of the whole left side of the body. In other words, it has been paralyzed here. The muscular force and blood supply to these become impaired, hence the condition we have existing through the body of tautness of the muscular force along the left side of the whole body. The extremities show the most. The condition of the body, by taking into the system that which eliminates inflammation, as it formed through the pelvis, has assisted the body in some respects, but the condition or seat of trouble remains the same as we have had here before, or at first. Its reflexes to these sides, show through the nerves and muscular fiber or force in the body itself. The condition of the system in itself is fairly good, except from the activeness of the body.

  3. Remove these conditions from the body, in the state as we have them, and we will remove the condition of the body, or have the body come to a normal condition, as far as the body can, through its condition. That is, by removing these lesions in the pelvis at the last lumbar, and bringing the body of the uterus here itself into shape, into form, in the body, by contraction, either by manipulation of the hands into the parts themselves, or by operation internally here. When we remove this condition and bring the body back into shape, we will remove the condition we have in the system and bring the body to a normal condition.

  4. (Q) How should the lesion be removed? (A) By manipulation of the hands.

  5. (Q) Any other treatment you would prescribe, for her for the present? (A) Take that into the system which will help to eliminate through the channels of the digestion or expulsion from the system of these waste matters used in these, or the expulsion of these through that of manipulation, which, of course, is deep down. Have to manipulate both from the inside, from the mouth of the uterus, and also from that along the spine. If we have too much into the intestinal tract, with the manipulation, it will produce over-stimulation to these, and will start inflammation through the kidneys. Hence the conditions we remove, through manipulation. Use that into the intestinal tract or through the general condition of the system, which we need at the time, as the conditions present themselves.
