EC: Now, we find there are many conditions in this body that are improved from those when we had them before. Still there are some conditions that have to do with the nerve system and with that producing or causing this condition in the system that have not been brought to the proper or normal conditions in the body.

We would, to correct these conditions from the present forces as shown and exhibited in the system, take these as medicinal properties in the body, and make those adjustments in the form of osteopathic forces as would be applied in the lower dorsals and in the upper lumbar region. These we find give distresses to the system and to the functioning of the organs of upper digestion in the intestinal tract. These adjustments should be taken at least six to ten of these, or until the condition is adjusted in reference to these centers, as shown in the system, taking these properties:

To one gallon of rain water, add:
Sarsaparilla Compound, or Sarsaparilla Syrup Compound…1 1/2 ounces, Leptandrin…10 grains, Sanguinaria…10 grains, Fluid Extract Calisaya…2 drams, Essence of Celerina…3 drams, Oil of Sassafras…1 dram, Oil of Peppermint…1 dram.
Reduce this by slow boiling or simmering to one quart. Strain and keep the dross skimmed from solution while being prepared. Add to this 2 ounces of grain alcohol, with 1 dram Balsam of Tolu cut in it, and added to before added to solution 15 minims Tincture of Myrrh, and with solution 1 dram Balm of Gilead.

The dose would be two teaspoonsful in little water twice each day, morning and evening.

Keep meats from the system, save fowl, fish or wild game.

R1. 5/23/24 Letter from EC to [4730]: “I am enclosing you, herewith, the rdg. gotten this morning. I find there is very little given as a diagnoses at this time, rather a stating of conditions and what to do to assist them.
“Would like very much for you to take this up with your physician. While, perhaps, the regular M.D. would not sanction the tr. of the osteopath, yet I believe if you would get these properties and combine with the osteopathic tr. you will find you will be in better condition than you have been for a number of yrs.
“Trusting that you will let me hear from you, and with kindest regards…
“P.S. Should you not be able to get this compounded there, I am sure you can get it at Sellers Drug Store, Birmingham, Ala., Attention of Dr. Sellers.”
R2. 5/26/24 Letter from [4730]: “Have your ltr. of the 23rd enclosing rdg. made in my behalf. I thank you very much for this. Have had a talk this morning with my physician and he still says that you have diagnosed my case correctly. However, he does not see much in your prescription but has no objection whatever to my trying it out and recommends that if I can to take the osteopath treatment outlined by you.
