This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 7th day of December, 1926, in accordance with request made by his father - Mr. […].

Time of Reading 4:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Alabama.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will diagnose the case thoroughly, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here.

3. Now, we find there are those conditions that have to do with the physical functioning of the body that sap, or prevent the rebuilding and replenishing of the life-giving flow or rebuilding in the body. This produced in times back by properties as were inhaled into the lungs, with exposure, that weakened the conditions in the body.

4. Now, these are conditions as we find them in this body, [4734] we are speaking of:

IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this lacking in its ability to fully meet the needs of the replenishing and the rebuilding in the body, and at the same time supply sufficient of those leukocyte in the body to destroy the ravages as are made in the blood stream, in various tissue, as is seen causes destructive forces in its action in the system. Then, we have a weakened condition in this supply.

6. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, this shows it is so relaxed in many portions and many centers, that the system has not the ability to exert the strength as is in the system in such a way and manner as to rebuild. Hence the best for the body is to lie, rest, eat, and to rest as much as is possible, with only sufficient of the exercise to produce the proper assimilation in the system.

7. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, the lungs are the greater portion of the system involved, yet we find the digestive system and the kidneys involved also. These produced by the lack of the system to act in unison through the weakened conditions in the body.

8. Then, to meet the needs of the conditions at the present time, and to bring about those forces that would give the better resistance and build the body back to the nearer normal, we would prepare as this:

First we would make an inhalant of pure apple brandy - at least half a gallon in a two gallon jar or container, and this would be corked tight, yet with a tube or hole sufficient through which the body might inhale the fumes as form on this, with this kept close to a heater of some character, see? so that the evaporation takes place and accumulates in the vacuum or vacant place above the solution. Inhale this at least two or three times each day into the lungs, see?

10. Prepare as this and take internally, one capsule each SECOND day, see?

Eucalyptol…1 minim, Rectified Oil of Turp…1 minim, Canadian Balsam…1 minim, Heroin…1/60 grain.

11. This shall be the dose in each capsule. Do not prepare more than three capsules at a time, but keep these up - that is, these doses every second day, until at least twenty-eight (28) such doses have been taken.

12. Take also this condition in the system, for this is necessary for the digestion and for the action on the blood system - and the diet should be kept much in the way and manner as has been kept for the body -

13. To one-half (1/2) gallon of rain water, add six (6) ounces of Garden Sage. Reduce by simmering (not boiling) to one (1) quart, see? Strain while warm and add fifteen (15) grains Ambergris, dissolved in one (1) ounce pure grain alcohol, 4 ounces Gin - preferably Gordon Gin, four (4) ounces of beet sugar - not cane sugar - dissolved in one (1) ounce of hot water, three (3) drams of Cinnamon - preferably in the stick.

14. Shake solution well together, taking teaspoonful before each meal and in the evening, see?

15. When this has been followed out, then we will find much change in the physical condition for the body for the better.

16. Well, too, would the body have those ultra Violet Rays over the body at least once each week - preferably should this be carried along the spine, see? This will help to clarify the blood, help to keep an equalization between the rebuilding system, as will be accomplished by these properties taken into the system.

17. Should these properties as given in the capsule prove heavy on the stomach - that is, cause a burning sensation - reduce same (that is, the burning sensation) by Milk of Magnesia and the common milk stirred together, see?

18. When these have been carried for the full amount, we would give further instructions for the improvement of the body.

My dear Mr. [4734]

I am sorry we couldn’t get to this sooner, but this is the very first opportunity we have had. You know we can only give two of these a day, and as requests come in, appointments are made in their regular order - but I certainly am in hopes that this will prove helpful and beneficial. You know the way to obtain the results will be to carry out the suggestions in full as are made for the improvement. I do not know, of course, what has been said by the physicians as respecting Mr. [4743]‘s condition. You will know whether this describes his condition, and you will know that it is necessary to carry out the suggestions in the manner given. I am led to believe, by the results others have obtained by such reading (though I cannot say we have ever had another condition described just as this), that if you will follow the suggestions you will get the results as others have.

I want to assure you of our interest in your son, and I hope you will let us hear from you from time to time.
