This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of September, 1928, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [4738].
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. L. B. Cayce.]
Time of Reading 3:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Alabama. (Physical Suggestion)
-
GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here. Now, we find there are many conditions as contribute to the conditions or ailments for this body, and to meet the needs of the conditions, would we bring about better normal forces, we find it becomes necessary to so assist the blood supply, or the replenishing forces of the system, in such a way and manner as not to be detrimental in same to other physical conditions, so that we may have that upon which to build for bringing about bettered conditions in the physical forces of the body; for we find, while there are not so much of organic troubles, organs are involved in their functioning in the condition, and the nerve system, blood supply, and the eliminating system, are involved also - and, as has been seen by those conditions as have been administered from time to time to bring about bettered conditions, while the body might show improvements for the time being, there would soon arise some troubles from OTHER conditions, seemingly from constitutional effects produced, that brought about greater reaction in the physical forces of the body. Sometimes the body feels better and hopeful. At others there apparently seems little to be gained by the continual changing from one change to another, for the conditions gradually wear away the resistance in the physical forces. Hence many are the findings of those who would give the pathological conditions, and some lay the blame on specifics and functions; others find purely organic disturbance, and the respiratory system and the liver and kidneys are major in their way and manner or functioning, becoming the seat, or the greater distressed organs in body.
-
Then we would, to bring about the bettered forces, begin in rather the more systematic way and manner and build that in the system upon which the recuperative forces may be brought to their proper reaction. (These sinking spells are bad for the body, too.) To bring about the reaction for near normal conditions for the body, we would then prepare as THIS to be taken, a dose being teaspoonful in water at least three times each day:
-
To one-half gallon of rain water, or distilled water, add:
Sarsaparilla Root…2 ounces, Wild Cherry Bark…2 ounces, Black Snake Root…1 ounce, Yellow Dock Root…1 ounce, Burdock Root…1 ounce, Elder Flower…2 ounces.
-
Reduce this by simmering (not boiling) to one-half the quantity. Then strain while warm and add 2 drams Balsam of Tolu CUT in 2 ounces of grain alcohol, adding to same Oil of Sassafras 10 minims.
-
The dosage as given, preferably before the meals.
-
Be sure the diet is such as will assimilate with system. Preferably those of the nature easily digested. The juice rather than the flesh of meats, or of mutton or beef. No hog meat of any character, nor fish.
-
Codliver oil - as much as the body will assimilate, keeping same as well irrigated (the digestive tract) as necessary to prevent infections throughout the system from feces remaining too long in the intestinal tract or colon. Using enemas when necessary, with oil, or with antiseptics - using the Glyco-Thymoline, teaspoonful to half a gallon, or tablespoonful to a gallon of water, when these enemas are given.
-
And this, as pellets, may be prepared for the stimulation of the vital [vitality] for the body. These do not take more than one a day (one capsule or one pellet), unless body is in great pain. Prepare as this:
Camphor Gum…20 grains, Muriated Iron…20 grains, Sulphate Morphia…1/2 grain.
Make into twenty (20) pellets, or twenty (20) small capsules. Necessary to keep in cool place to prevent dissolution.
-
In the character of water taken, well that this carry alternated in same a pinch (between the thumb and forefinger) of elm bark, or occasionally add with this a tablet of lithia for half a gallon of water. These only taken (the lithia) occasionally, though most of the drinking water should carry the elm.
-
When the medicinal properties have been taken; that is, those in the liquid; we would then give further instructions for this body, [4738]. Remembering, we are only building now for the system that which may be added to for the correction of the physical forces as apply to this body. Do that, then, at the present. We are through for the present.

R2. 9/24/28 Letter: ”…In regard to my case, the best I can explain it, I have a tingling feeling from my knees down. Have the same feeling in my hands and arms. Also I have a chilly feeling that goes up my back. I don’t have these feelings all the time. They last for several days at a time. My back is sore and it runs around on my hip and down my leg. It seems like that is what causes the tingling spells I have. If you can help me with this trouble I certainly will appreciate it. Also my stomach is out of order. I have no appetite for anything to eat or drink…”
