This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the Exchange Hotel, Montgomery, Alabama, this 10th day of November, 1922.

Time of Reading 3:00 P. M. …, Alabama.

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here. Now, the abnormal condition as we find in this body, [4745], we are speaking of has to do with the nerve centers, and their action over the whole nervous system both in their relation to the functioning of the forces within the system to produce co-ordination between the portions of the body affected in the trunk of the extremities and in the action relative to each other, that is, the nerve ganglia have become so weakened in times past as to become in such a manner that they partake of the action of the emunctory system so that the circulation both in the blood supply in its relation to capillary circulation and the effect to be produced on the nerve centers feed from these and give the over-stimulus to such an extent as to be beyond the control of the cerebrospinal nervous energy and control, in other words, we have between the sympathetic and the cerebrospinal, the filling up so that all the nerve energy directed towards the locomotories become involuntary motion as we see we find here at the second cervical ganglion, the brachial plexus, the solar plexus center, the second sacrum plexus center. They, then, affect the whole nervous system throughout the affect to the organs as organs do not affect in this same manner for the circulation in blood forces carry the incentives to the functioning in a proper manner for we see the effect of this condition as expressed through the action of the cerebrospinal center or brain force itself, the action of the heart forces as expressed in themselves, the functioning of the digestive force of the liver, the hepatic circulation and throughout the system we need to correct the coordinating forces between the circulations and to produce in the system, those vibrations that will separate the action of the sympathetic nervous energy and that of the voluntary forces between the sympathetic and the cerebrospinal forces. These could not or would not come in accord by the use of medicinal properties in the system for the effect must come between the action of the mind force and its control over the whole system, but with the condition as existing, it must be assistance through those of mechanical means to produce the relation or to establish the correct vibrations to reduce the plethoric condition existing in the venous and arterial circulation and coordinating the action of the nerve centers. This we would accomplish by giving the massage to the centers along the spine to relax the tissues and to present tensions on the centers that show or express the plethoric conditions as by giving the vibrations necessary to produce the coordinating elements between the sympathetic and cerebrospinal forces as we would find in this:

  2. To two gallons of rain water we would add one pound of willow charcoal, one and one-half pounds of copper sulfate, one ounce sulfuric acid, C.P., six drams of zinc. While this is being charged from a low voltage of electric vibrations or batteries, there would be placed in this solution, six ounces of iodine, corked with class [glass?] cork in a bottle, and the whole solution charged for one hour; the poles from this would be one of silver, the other of copper with wires attached to these of sufficient length to attach one plate to the wrist, the other to the ankle on the opposite sides of the body, see, that is, when it is attached to the right wrist, the other plate should be attached to the left ankle and vice-versa for they would be changed each day and for thirty minutes each evening, these would be given. The massage or manipulation with the suggestion would be every other day; by the time they have been used three to five times, that is, the solution must be renewed when it has lost its electric vibrations, it would create for this body, by the time it has been used three to five time, we will find the body will be able to control itself through its own volitions. Do that. We are through.
