This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Va. Beach, Va., this 27th day of September, 1932, in accordance with request made by her cousin, Associate Member Mrs. [4784], also by her sister Mrs. […], through Mrs. Ernest W. Zentgraf.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here. As has been indicated, there would not be changes in the immediate for those corrections. The applications that have been and are being made for the corrections of those disorders we would not change in the present, where pressures have existed, producing those tendencies that have been indicated, and these conditions have been very well diagnosed, or analyzed. While the responses have not been as yet as fast as expected, unless there are complications these should within the next ten to fifteen days show decided improvements.

2. Then we may, with the removal of the body from those present surroundings, give those things that may be of aid or helpful in making for rejuvenation in the muscular and nerve forces that have been and are under strain.

3. We would keep those present conditions, for these are beginning to show signs of bringing nearer the normal reactions.

4. Ready for questions.

5. (Q) Is there any improvement noted since first reading? (A) As given, the improvements are beginning; while not as fast as had been hoped, yet these are showing improvements.

6. (Q) Please diagnose her illness. (A) This has BEEN diagnosed!

7. (Q) Any further advice for those who have the care of this body? (A) Keep close to those outlines that have been given, through those who are ministering to the needs of the physical forces of the body.

R1. 9/27/32 EC’s letter to Mrs. [4784]: “We hope that as conditions progress we may be of service, if it is felt that we may be through these channels. What has been the prognosis of the attending physician?”

R2. 10/10/32 Sister’s letter: ”…Mrs. [4747], while still in a great deal of pain, takes less medicine to kill the pain, sleeps better and eats better. I was in Washington at the time of your first reading but did not know it was to take place and I certainly feel I must tell you that both nurses told me and my mother, too, that the day and night and those days and nights following were the best my sister had had since these nurses had taken charge. (The nurses knew absolutely nothing about your help and do not know up to the present, nor of course does Mrs. [4747].)

“When Mrs. [4747] actually realizes that she is better herself I shall tell her of your help. She must certainly know it soon since she is actually taking an interest in affairs, has written two letters to this house and several to her friends. She even has an interest in the papers, so you see that there has been a great deal of progress even though things seem fairly gloomy at times.

“I believe her progress has been due to your aid. There was absolutely no manifestation of gaining her health, even though her mental condition had cleared up, until you came on the case.

“There is no longer any need of sending information to Mrs. [4784] concerning Mrs. [4747]. She [the cousin] simply acted as agent for me because she had your address and application. So kindly, in the future send all information to me here at this address. Mrs. [4747] will stay at her home at … Washington, D.C., until she no longer has to have the exacting care she now has. You see, I have a sister living with me at this house [in New Jersey] who must have absolute quiet in order to have any kind of health; then, too, our people here go to business. Mrs. [4747] lives alone in her own home, with everything around her for her comfort and well being.

“Please, in writing me, make no reference to this confidence. I have my younger sister read all the correspondence from you and we try never to refer to her condition since there is entirely too much talk about it as it is. If you feel you must refer to it because something has come to you in your readings, would it be possible to put it on a separate sheet? I hope so because this younger sister and I, too, for that matter, are just beginning to hear the telephone ring and have the postman bring a letter without fear and trembling.

“May God continue to pour this wonderful power into you. We thank Him for all His help as given by you…”

R3. 10/14/32 EC’s letter to [4747]‘s sister:

My dear Mrs. […]

For yours of the 10th I must indeed thank you. We feel that God works in mysterious ways His wonders to perform. All of us, as individuals, are manifestations of His power in the material plane. As to what we do with such knowledge is how great we may be in showing forth His love among our fellow man. As to how much it becomes necessary to use material benefits outside of our own selves depends on how much we have abused the abilities innate in our very soul. I am believing this will continue. Please know that we are very anxious to be a channel of blessing to someone, if and whenever possible. I am hoping that I may know many of you in person.

Let us hear occasionally, and should we receive anything else we will certainly acquaint you with the fact.

R4. 12/1/32 Sister’s letter: “Am much disturbed. Can nothing be done to save my sister, Mrs. [4747]? I fear we will lose her. She seems so weak. Will you let me hear from you? I will be with her at her home in Washington, D.C., all next week. Many thanks.”

R5. 12/8/32 EC’s letter: “Yours of recent date came and I am sorry indeed that Mrs. [4747] is feeling so badly again. Please let me know by wire if there is a possibility of our being of help. For the last few days I have been ill myself; that is why you haven’t heard from me before this. I trust that we may be of service.”
