-
GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.
-
EC: Yes, these conditions, as we find, are rather serious; yet taken while there is the opportunity of aiding the system to rebuild, may bring the better results for the physical forces of the body. While the tissue is being attacked, and while the temperature as is caused by these conditions in the tissue, this may be overcome by giving the system the opportunity to throw off the refuse forces, even from diseased tissue. These then, now, are conditions as we find them with this body.
-
The blood supply indicates the character of the conditions existent in the pulmonaries. This is shown by the nature of the resistance as being attempted by the blood stream, as well as by that shown in the blood stream that is being attempted to be eliminated. Hence the cause of temperature. While the condition in the lung is serious at present, cell continuing to break, more tissue becoming involved; yet there IS sufficient resistive force in the body to add to and build upon to meet the needs YET, would the body arise, as it were, to meet the needs of these conditions.
-
The nerve system shows the laxness as brought about by temperature, by the tiredness and by the whole condition existent.
-
To meet the needs, then, at present, we would add as this:
-
First much of that as is being done is very good, and would be gradually changed - but we would, to bring the better resistive forces and add to the system to meet the needs of the body, use these as a whole for the body: First, then, the diet:
-
Little of spirits Fermenti with raw egg and milk, at least once a day. As much of the fruit and nut diet as the body may assimilate. This should be alternated from the changes as arise from time to time. As much olive oil and codliver oil as will assimilate. First would be at least half a teaspoonful two or three times each day. These may be taken half an hour or an hour apart, see?
-
Use as internal medicine, properties as this - taking only one capsule each day. Preferably this would be taken at evening. This the dose for each capsule:
Eucalyptol…1 minim, Canadian Balsam…1/2 minim, Rectified Oil of Turp…1/2 minim, Codeine…1/60 grain, Tolu Gum…1 gram, or solution…2 minims.
- Also use as an inhalant to clarify the lung proper, and the throat: Prepare pure apply brandy in charred container - at least half a gallon of same in a gallon or two gallon container, charred. Keep this where evaporation will take place, but keep it well corked - and inhale into the lung the fumes from same at least three times each day. When it is first begun the body may only take at least two to three deep inhalations. As time goes on this may be increased. Not sufficient to strain the system, but inhale sufficient that the body feels the effect of same tingling, as it were, throughout the whole nerve system. Do that. As changes come about we would give those necessary things for the improvement of this body, [4759] we are speaking of. We are through for the present.

R1. 7/6/28 EC’s letter to [715]:
Dear [715]
I’m enclosing the information gotten regarding [4759]. I’m just hoping you will be able to get him to carry out the suggestions made, for of course it will not be worth anything unless he carries it out just to the letter. You possibly know that it was something of the same trouble that Gertrude, my wife, had - and the results from the information concerning her condition were what first convinced me, and your father [3772], of the good that might be obtained through these sources. I’ll appreciate it if you will let me hear from you from time to time, and I think it will be well (if he will do this) that we check up on this condition in another four or five weeks, or such matter.
I’m sending a copy directly to [4759] at Campbellsville. I don’t know whether that is correct or not, but I know he should get at it as soon he can. But you write to him and insist that he follow the suggestions given.
With love from all,
Your cousin, Edgar Cayce EC:GD

R2. 7/6/28 EC’s letter to [4759]:
Dear [4759]:
[715] wrote me some days ago requesting that I get a reading for you. I don’t know whether you know much about this or not. Possibly you have heard Mr. Noe [A. D. Noe] speak of it. I believe though, if you will follow the suggestions given, you will certainly get results from it.
I enclose some information concerning this, or what others think of it, and will be glad to hear from you if you care to write.
I assure you it is our desire to be of help if possible. With kindest regards, I am
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD
R3. 9/20/28 Wife [715]‘s uncle, Mr. [244], wrote:
“Just heard that [715]‘s husband [4759] is dead. Didn’t even know that he was sick.”
R4. 9/24/28 EC’s letter to Mr. [244]: “I can’t help but feel, from what we knew of the condition, that this was unnecessary, had they been willing to forego some of their opinions and attempt to carry out the suggestions that were made for him - but you may lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink.”
R5. 10/7/28 Wife [715]‘s letter: “I’ve intended writing to you every day since I lost [4759] but somehow I can’t get myself back to normal again. I went to see [4759] just eight days before he passed away. I did not know that he was so sick, as he did not tell me in his letters, and his mother did not let me know. And right here, let me tell you, if he had been with me I would have carried out your treatment and I KNOW he would have been alive today. Just as you said in your letter, some people don’t understand your power and consequently his mother, I don’t think carried the treatment out as it should have been.”
R6. 10/22/34 She obtained 715-1, the first of a series of readings for herself.
