GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will diagnose the case thoroughly, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here.
-
Now, we find there are those conditions that, were these corrected, we would find the general physical health of the body improved, for we find both specific and reflex conditions cause the disturbance in the system. These arise from nerve disturbances as produce distortion or overtaxation in the functioning of organs, and produce various effects and conditions in the system - disturbances in the circulation and in the distribution of used forces in the system. Hence we have toxemia, an anemic condition; also the depletion in red blood supply, and the centers in various portions in nerve system disturbed to the extent as to cause various conditions in the digestive system, this producing the reflex conditions as are seen in liver, intestines, and in the various portions of the digestive system. Reflexly, these produce again the headaches, the conditions as exist with the sensory system. Also we find that the secondary, or the sympathetic nerve system involved in the various conditions. These, then, being those as should be corrected to bring about the better normal condition for the body, or the more normal condition for the body.
-
We would, then, take these properties as medicinal properties in the system, for these, as we see, will change the effect of the vibrations as are necessary in the creation of rebuilding units and rebuilding forces as are seen in the system.
-
To 1 gallon, then, of rain water, add:
Sarsaparilla Root…4 ounces, Wild Cherry Bark…2 ounces, Yellow Dock Root…2 ounces, Burdock Root…2 ounces, Elder Flower…4 ounces, Black Root…2 ounces, Mandrake Root…20 grains, Buchu Leaves…15 grains.
Reduce this by simmering (not boiling) to 1 quart. Strain, and while warm add 4 ounces of pure grain alcohol, with 3 drams of Balsam of Tolu, cut in same. Add to the solution, and the dose of same, shaken well to-gether, would be teaspoonful 4 times each day. This, as we see, will bring about much change in the system.
-
Necessary, also, that the diet be looked after while this is being taken. Do not use much meats for the system, and never any pork or of hog meat in any way or form. Beef in small quantities may be used, or fish or fowl. Principally vegetable and fruit diet should be that used by the body.
-
Drink PLENTY of water, and take this in the medicinal way - that is, have a REGULAR time and drink at least six glasses of water each day, that we may flush the system, for we need to create more of the mucus throughout the whole system, and it is necessary to keep more water in the system, that with the medicinal properties producing the various vibrations as are created in the functioning organs of the body, through these changes, necessary that water be kept in system.
-
Well, too, that after this has been taken for at least one week, to begin and take Petrolagar, the alkaline form, taking tablespoonful once each day. This will keep the tendency of the system to the alkaline rather than the acid condition, relieving the strains as are seen in joints and various portions of the body by exposure.
-
Keep the feet dry. Do not let cold and congestion overtax the system again, else we will have a reflex condition to lungs and pulmonaries that would be destructive forces to the body.
-
Do this, and we will bring the better conditions for this body.
-
We are through for the present.

Mrs. [4770] Puritan Mines, W. Va.
Dear Mrs. [4770]
I have yours of the 9th, and in reply will say I am sure you should write: Martin Pharmacy, 265 Granby Street, Norfolk, Va. Send them the whole reading, which has the prescription in same, and ask that they prepare this for you at once. I am sure that when you have taken these properties you will find your condition greatly improved.
We assure you that we want to follow this up, and shall appreciate your letting us hear from you from time to time.
I would attend to this myself, but as you can readily see, we have too many of these to ever begin to try and attend to each prescription, so we ask that each send direct to the pharmacy.
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD

Mrs. [4770] Puritan Mines, W. Va.
Dear Mrs. [4770]:-
Replying to yours of the 26th, I shall be glad to try and be of some help, if it is possible. You will see from the little pamphlet that I am sending you that I’m not a doctor, and don’t profess to be, in any sense of the word. I may possibly be able to suggest to you how you may go about to have your trouble corrected, but I do not doctor in any way. Should you desire that I undertake the reading for you, you will please fill out the enclosed card, and the information as is necessary for me to get this reading for you, with whatever you desire to contribute towards the work I am trying to do, and we can take this up for you. Our time is well taken up, but we are making the appointment just as soon as it’s possible. I’m limited as to the number of cases I can handle, but I desire to be of help to everyone that it is possible.
Hoping that I may be of service,
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD
