EC: Yes, we have the body. Now, while we find this body very good in many respects, there is in the physical forces those conditions that make the body below the normal in its best for the physical and for the manifestation of the mental and spiritual forces in the entity of the body. These have to do with the nerve forces and the action this produces on the functioning of organs in the body, as we shall see.
-
Now these are conditions as we find them in this body, [4772], present in this room, we are speaking of.
-
First, in the blood supply, we find this very good in both quantity and quality, yet that pressure, as is shown, and its action through the heart forces, as it is propelled within the system, does not give best distribution of blood through the body - see? This, as we will see, is produced rather from nerve tension and strain than from the organ itself, or of the element or elements of the blood itself.
-
In the nerve forces there are centers that have become, by gradual growth and development with the body, or by the neglect of personal or direct suggestion of the centers in their functioning, have become over taxed, such we find in the pneumogastric center here or that governing the gastric forces in the digestive tract, so at times there has been produced that form of gastric forces that gave some distress to the body or that about the pyloric end of the stomach reflexly in the nerve contraction and its connection with the sympathetic and the sensory centers and their connection with the cerebro-spinal center about the seventh dorsal vertebra we see the secondary cardiac forces there became involved. This then gives the rise to the action of the circulation through the arterial forces and the pressure produced - see? This strain, we see, coming from nerve centers of sympathetic and of the gastric forces themselves.
-
In the functioning of organs themselves we find as this. In the brain force we find the body very good. The action of co-ordination of forces from the sensory organism show some strain that the body, with its mental and spiritual surroundings, should overcome within itself - see? direct. That is, the correct directing of the central nerve forces to supply from the circulation the proper elements to rebuild in the system the used forces and to eliminate used forces in the proper manner, so as not to hinder the functioning of the organs of the sensory system. This, we will see, must be overcome through physical as well as spiritual and mental to give the mental and spiritual the proper actions within the body.
-
In the throat and larynx we find there some of the strain as produced by taxation of the juices as secreted here to ward against the poisons as are secreted in the system. The functioning of the thyroids have at times become such as to produce the expression of distress within that of dis-ease - see? Lung forces, good. Digestive tract as we have given, from the action of pneumogastric forces. Strained heart action, as is supplied through that force, as we have given, or the nerve forces rather than organs. The liver, spleen, pancreas and organs of excretory and secretive elimination or assimilation very good, except as sympathetically given incentive from time to time. The hepatic circulation high only when over taxed by the pneumogastric sympathetically re-acting. Kidneys show the strain at times of toxins rather than of distress through functional conditions being sympathetic.
-
To give the relief for the conditions of this body must be taken into consideration the condition that exists in physical and the action of the mental and spiritual forces with the action of physical conditions, in that of the mental will act with the physical elements necessary to give the incentive of those physical centers to perform their respective office of rebuilding and replenishing and producing equalization within the system. With this we would take specific exercises for the diaphragm and its connection with the nerves and muscular forces that control the pneumogastric and the centers that give connection of nerve energy sympathetically and organically to the gastric and cardiac forces, sympathetic force and cerebro-spinal. The exercises, then, would be taken with the body lying prone, so that elemental and mental forces may act in conjunction with same. Use plenty or more than at present water inside and outside for the body. Drink PLENTY of water - see? This will reduce condition of the toxins that give rise to distress to the system in intestinal tract or the stomach or nerve system of the body. Do that, [4772], present in this room.
-
(Q) How about sight of the right eye? (A) The effects this is we find of some forces of the sight have assisted in the condition, but with the strain from the nerve centers to give elimination - see? To the blood supply of the sensory system the condition will be removed and assisted in becoming to its normal vibration better than again, as we have given for that too, you see.
-
(Q) The pain that he suffers from the bladder to the back, is that from the bladder? (A) The over activity of kidneys in their action through sympathetic condition of water in the system, and too, so that the action of the physical forces will give the re-action and remove the pain, or rather distress than pain, as it comes at times. Do as we have given, if we would correct these conditions.
The exercise would be the movement of abdomen - see? with the swinging of the lower limbs from side to side, of the raising of the body, of the twisting of the body with the upper portion, then the lower portion. That is, below the diaphragm and above the diaphragm, turning from side to side, with other part lying as nearly flat or still as possible - see? With the mental force give the suggestions of action of these organs, centers and their function and connection sympathetically and organically to function properly.
Do that. We are through.

R1. 9/17/23 [4772]‘s letter:
Dear Mr. Cayce
I am enclosing you my check for $20.00 to cover my reading. Check for Mrs. […] will come to you later. I am more than pleased at results obtained for me. The fact of no organic trouble of heart is quite encouraging as I have been led to believe my heart was in very bad condition.
With best regards
Yours truly, [4772]

Mr. [4772] % Western Union Telegraph Co.
Dear Mr. [4772]
Yours of the 17th, with enclosure, for which I thank you, was received to-day. Of course, it is gratifying to me to know that the reading was as encouraging to you, for I know that is at least half of the battle. We mailed the one on Mrs. [4404] to you Monday. Suppose you have it in hand by now.
Would be very glad if you would let me hear from you from time to time, and, within the next few weeks, I hope to send you a copy of the letters and statements that you were looking over when here, and you may study this a little bit more at your leisure, and I will want to outline to you also the manner and way that I am taking up the writing of the statements regarding the work, and if you would I would like for you to make a few suggestions along the line, as I will give you a sort of outline of the questions that are being asked, and if you can suggest others why I would thank you very much. [GD’s note: This was the beginning of accumulating questions for obtaining the [3744] series of EC readings.]
With kindest personal regards, and thanking you, trusting that I will see you again in the near future, I beg to be
Yours very truly, Edgar Cayce

Mr. Edgar Cayce Meridian, Tex.
Dear Mr. Cayce,
I have just returned from Chicago where I had a long talk with […] also Mr. LaBryn of our office there - and I am writing to you at the instance of Mr. LaBryn - first for your terms for a reading; second will I have to see you in person for that reading - I have been a student of the Science for over thirty years and know what can be done along those lines and I have great faith in your work for that reason I am writing you. An early reply will greatly oblige
Yours truly, [4772]
B2. 9/5/23 EC’s letter to [4772]:
Selma, Ala.
Dear Mr. [4772]
Your letter of Aug 13th to me at Meridian, Tex came to me about the day I left there, on arriving here wired you asking if you could not arrange to come here see me and at the same time hear the reading for Mrs. [4213]. An answer from your office said you were out and would let me hear from you soon as you returned. Have heard nothing. I presume from your letter you are interested in work of this character, and would be glad to see and talk with you on the subject, have just written Mr. LaBryn that if he still desires that the reading be made [for Mrs. [4213]] that he make an appointment for next week. Have had no Steno. for last two weeks that could get the work, so have been held up; will have one now after Monday next, the 10th, and would like, if you can do so and would care to, that you be here when this reading is made.
Trusting you will let me hear from you and that may see you soon.
Yours sincerely, [signed] Edgar Cayce
