This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 1st day of May, 1926, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [4779], via aunt Mrs. [4329].

Time of Reading 10:00 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Los Angeles, California.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will diagnose the case thoroughly, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

2. EC: Now, we find there are many abnormal conditions with this body. There are many conditions that may be assisted and, through care, persistence, and consistent usage of self, self’s action, physically and mentally, build the system to a more normal condition.

3. Now, these are the conditions as we find them that need correction. First:

4. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find subnormal and overtaxed, or carrying only sufficient for the needs at times of rebuilding. Scarcely any of the stored energy in system is inhibited in the blood stream. In the elements this very deficient.

5. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, this very low in many ways and very much accentuated in many others, for there are many of the ganglions in the cerebro-spinal system that show the excess of functioning in an abnormal manner, especially those in the 2nd cervical, in the 5th cervical, the 6th, 7th, dorsal, in the 2nd and 4th lumbar, and in the 2nd coccyx.

6. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, many of the organs show distress by the poor elimination as is carried on in the system, and the assimilation becomes very much exaggerated in different ways, for the condition as created in the blood stream is an effect of assimilation, for the system, in attempting to adjust itself, finds that first one, then another, portion of the system seems to break down, under the strain in which the body moves and has its being.

7. In the specific conditions - that is the intestinal system, that in the stomach proper, especially in the lower end of stomach, or in duodenum. Hence the liver, spleen, pancreas and jejunum, all show the effect of this condition, which at times becomes very much localized, though this is NOT in that form of the taking on growth in itself; rather the form of abrasions, sores, lesions, and of the outer (which is the inner) wall becoming lacerated, see? not in the form of a malignant nature. Hence, all the whole system breaks down under these conditions. The kidneys becoming overtaxed, this gives a great deal of trouble. The lower portion of the intestinal tract or the colon becoming clogged, poisons come back in system through the absorption. Hence the general debilitation throughout the system.

8. Then, to bring the normal conditions toward that of the correction, we would give this in this manner to this body. As for medicinal properties, take this:

9. Chloride of Gold 15 grains, in 10 ounces of distilled water. Twenty grains Bromide of Soda. Shake the solution well together. Keep tightly corked in glass or rubber stopper container or bottle. The dose will be 3 to 5 drops in half a glass of water TWICE each day, early of morning before meals and just before retiring.

10. Use the manipulation, osteopathically given, for the correction of those conditions along the cerebro-spinal system. This will be found necessary to relax many and to cause contraction in others, as the various conditions show in system. This should be given at least twice each week until at least thirty-five such treatments or adjustments have been taken; and wear across the SMALL of the back the heavy Radium Appliance, see? that which will produce in blood stream a correction of the metabolism of the system, in nerve reaction and in blood supply.

11. Do that, consistently and persistently.

12. Never overload the system with foods, especially no meats of a heavy nature. Soups, or those of wild game may be taken, made in savory soups or gravies, but not the flesh so much itself. The vegetable diet of those that grow BELOW the ground should be adhered to - all of the tuberous nature, and of celery, lettuce, or such, that may be eaten green. See?

13. Keep the intestinal tract clear by using enemas, rather than cathartics, until the system becomes adjusted to these conditions. This will bring about a more normal condition for this body; keeping the mental attitude of self in that way and manner in which there may be known that Will, Mind, must build in cooperation with LIFE giving forces in a physical body.

My dear Mr. [4779]

I enclose you, herewith, the reading that was gotten this morning. I am certainly in hopes that you find this interesting and worth while, trying to carry out the suggestions as are given. I think a great part of this can be done very easily, and from the results others have obtained, I believe this will be worth while for you to do.

As for the Radium Applicator, these I believe are manufactured there in your city - The Radium Appliance Company, Bradbury Building. I certainly am in hopes that you will try ALL of this, for I don’t think it would be worth very much to do just part of it and leave the other undone. I would appreciate it very much if you would let me hear from you from time to time, for we would like to check up on this and see if we can’t do you some good.

B1. 1/21/26 Aunt [4329]‘s letter: ”…If you have any new literature - more explanatory - I would be pleased to receive same to give to friends.

“I also wish very much that one of my nephews might know about you. I had a letter from his wife last week, stating that he [4779] is too ill to go to his office. About a year ago he had a very critical operation, and it seems there is a recurrence of his old trouble - having taken with a very bad attack last August (I believe) when in Salt Lake City on a business trip. He has not recovered from this last attack. I am very anxious about him, and know that when a man has to give up, it means suspension of business and subsequent worries of all sorts, not only for himself but for his entire family. He is broad minded and would be ready to grasp your science, at once, and generous enough to pass it along. If you wish to send him literature, the following address will reach him…”

B2. 4/3/26 Letter: ”…I received your message and I am more than anxious for a reading as I feel it is my only hope, as medical men have failed to give me relief. It hardly seems fair to you after I have tried medical aid without results…”

My dear Mr. [4779]

Yours of the 3rd, addressed to me at Dayton, was forwarded to me here. I believe you must have seen the first little booklet that was published while I lived at Dayton. I am enclosing you, herewith, our appointment card. I believe there are three hours’ difference between the Eastern and Pacific time. I’m in hopes that this day and hour will be satisfactory with you, for it is necessary for us to know where the individual is on the day and hour the reading is made.

Now, I assure you, Mr. [4779] it is our desire to be of assistance, if possible. Our greatest desire is to be of help to those where all else has failed. As you will see from the little pamphlet I am sending you, I have nothing to sell, though the work itself may send you back to some medical man for treatment; but will direct as to how this is to be given. The work itself, as you will see, depends upon the good we can do, that individuals may feel they should contribute to the upkeep of such work.

Please return the card at once, that we may know that this will be satisfactory. Should there be special questions that you would desire to have asked concerning your condition, you may or may not make note of same, as you wish.
