This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 322 Grafton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, this 5th day of May, 1925, in accordance with request made by her husband, Mr. […], through Mr. Geo. W. Lane.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will diagnose the case thoroughly, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body. You will answer any questions relative to this body that I will ask you.

2. EC: Now, we find there are some abnormal conditions with this body and these may be corrected, with care and attention, with persistence and with correct vibrations to create the perfect equilibrium and coordination throughout the body. The conditions or effects of conditions, as we see, have to do with the general debilitation and with the condition as is produced in functioning system, without the very definite source of the condition apparent.

3. Now these are conditions as we find them in this body, [4782] we are speaking of. First:

4. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find below the normal in the replenishing of the red blood cellular forces in the body. Hence the overtaxing easily of the body, whether of mental conditions through the nerve system or through physical taxation.

5. In the elements of the blood we find these show in the system; that is, the element producing the taxation in blood stream, not perfect eliminations through the system.

6. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, in many centers do we find this disarrangement, as it were. That is, many portions of the nerve system, or a temperamental condition in nerve system, produced by taxings to the nerve system, both cerebro-spinal centers and sympathetic condition as exists. Hence the taxing of nerves, easily excited, easily depressed, in the functioning of sensory system.

7. In the specific centers, we find those about the 5th and 6th dorsal, where at some time back there have been lesions formed. This has produced a lateral lesion, affecting then directly the secondary cardiac plexus. This gives a change in the heart’s action and produced distress to the digestive system. The correction of the effects rather than cause produced the taxation in the blood supply, through toxins forming in system by the system not giving off proper eliminations, either through capillary circulation, through liver, or through lung force. Hence the condition as is produced in the pulmonary proper.

8. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, in brain forces very good.

9. In the functioning of the organs of the sensory system, shows the effect rather than a specific condition of that through nerve and through blood supply.

10. Throat, larynx, bronchials, lungs, show the condition as has been given of that shown in the 5th dorsal and 6th dorsal centers, affecting through the secondary cardiac plexus.

11. In the functioning of heart proper subnormal and abnormal both at times, through the pressure as created, dependent upon the cycle of time in the observation.

12. In digestive system, we find this rather a nerve digestion than indigestion, though all affected in this manner, for through this has been brought about the condition existing in the blood stream.

13. Liver showing depressions in the emunctories in their functioning.

14. The hepatic circulation cold.

15. Kidneys overtaxed at times, as is shown from inflammation as is created through the false pelvis, by the overtaxing of the organ in the emunctories, or in the functioning of eliminating centers.

16. Then, to give the normal forces to this body would be, first, to correct those conditions as exist in the cerebro-spinal nerve system, releasing those impingements in the dorsal region, relaxing those taxed conditions in the lower dorsal and lumbar regions and applying those vibrations as would be found in those of the Radium Applicator to that center about which needs the re-vibration to the whole system - 5th and 6th dorsal vertebra.

17. The application of the vibration to remove the condition in cerebro-spinal system should be through deep manipulations.

18. Taking in the system those properties as would produce the correct functioning, or incentives of functioning, through the system, as these:

Tincture of Valerian…2 ounces, Iodide Potassium…15 grains, Bromide Potassium…20 grains, Elixia Calisaya…2 ounces, Elixia Celerina…2 ounces, Tincture Capsici…1 minim. Simple Syrup sufficient to make 10 ounces.

The dose would be teaspoonful twice each day, before retiring and near middle of day.

19. Let the body’s diet be in keeping with those in the condition of the body; that is, those properties that give the full rebuilding of the blood supply, keeping the eliminations as near normal as possible, overcoming the toxins as would be absorbed in system by the foods not being digested properly, or by foods remaining in system too long.

20. Do this. We will find we will bring this body to the normal conditions.

21. (Q) Are either one of the tubes from the kidneys stopped up in any manner? (A) The congestion as is produced reflexly brings the tautness to the muscular forces from the drainage tubes in the system, as given, you see, in the false pelvis or above. These show how the kidneys are overtaxed. This produces distresses in this portion. With the relaxation of these conditions, with the taking of these properties, we would find we would remove these conditions.

The seat or cause of these, as we see, being in the upper portion of body. The condition as produced in the lower dorsal and lumbar a reflex condition, and the taxed system through the digestion, and the improper eliminations overtaxing the kidneys, bring about the strain, this filling, this sediment as left at times, producing the filling up of the emunctories in kidneys. Remove the condition producing same, adding these properties as we have given in vibrations and medicinal properties. We will bring this body to the normal forces. Deep manipulation, osteopathically given, with heat applied, to kidney and to lung region, for with the reverse condition, with the grating as produced in lung, we would have a reverse condition in lung forces. Hence removal of cause.

Kindly advise us in the space below if you have followed all, or any part, of the suggestions given in your reading of May 5, 1925, and give us in detail the exact results you have obtained.

I considered the diagnosis very good - and I have taken the medicine prescribed and have taken two to three osteopathic adjustment treatments per week - from Dr. Lyman Lydic - and he found 5th and 6th dorsals out of place - just as Mr. Cayce in his reading said they were - but the results are not as good as I hoped for - due I think to the reappearance of an old ailment - from which I was not suffering the day of the reading.

I shall probably have another reading sometime soon.
