EC: Now we find there are abnormal conditions with this body. They have to do with specific conditions as exist in the functioning of organs, as produced by other conditions and the effect that the abnormal functioning produces in the system. First:
-
IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find, abnormal in its pressure and flow rather than the elemental constituents of the blood supply, though with the existing conditions we find this has been and is still depleted in the replenishing cellular and plasmatic elements of same. In the flow we find this has been abnormal in two ways. At times subnormal in the flow through system and again abnormal. Hence circulation has been involved by the pressure and by conditions existing in centers that govern the distribution over portions of the system, especially to the extremities. Hence the condition has been aggravated and the condition in other portions of the body affected, and produce an effect different from that producing the condition.
-
IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, we find there are centers in the cerebro-spinal column where nerve centers, that assist in the distribution along muscles and tissue, the functioning system and organs have and are impinged to such an extent as to cause an at-variance to the distribution of forces as used in the system. Such condition we find in the centers that govern the flow of blood through digestive system, other than that exercised by hypogastric in the digestive center or in lower end of stomach proper. Hence we have had these conditions: (These are different now from those present existing) First, we have had pressure in the lower portion of the digestive tract, in the intestines, and constipation was the effect. This producing toxins, the liver and pancreas became involved. Next, we have had the sour stomach and turning to the gastric juices being over-abundant to meet the needs. Then, we had forming of gases and a hydro-reaction, producing lacerations in the lower portion and about the orifice of stomach that empties into the intestinal tract. The present conditions being a reflex of those former conditions, with the accentuation of condition in the duodenum and lower wall of stomach proper. Body is better, however, at present than it has been in the past. The liver, spleen and hepatic circulation being involved in these conditions, that first producing this being overtaxing of the system by an injury externally to the lower portion of stomach, and by the forming of lesion in the 7th, 8th and 9th dorsal centers that prevented the distribution of used forces and the elimination of same through the right and correct channels. This also involves the sensory system and reflexly the ilium and the sacral plexus, sympathetically. These give then the condition as is shown through lower limbs and through kidneys and bladder, for they reflexly affect the hypogastric centers in this inflammation.
-
IN THE ORGANS OF THE BODY, these we find all in very good condition considering the state of elimination and assimilation as has gone on in the system.
-
The throat, we find some troubles there from conditions as have been in teeth and tonsil.
-
In the heart’s action, this is not organic, yet rather the effect as nerve impingement has caused in other portions of the viscera, in its functioning to produce in system, taxing same.
-
The other organs under the strain and condition as we have given, with the various degrees of the affection showing through their cycle of functioning in body.
-
Then to bring the sure and permanent relief to this body would be to correct, osteopathically, that condition in the cerebro-spinal centers, as given, and made the alignment from the dorsals to the sacral regions, for all will need their correct adjustments at the various stages of the retraction in system. Being careful of the diet, that we may not create poisons or toxins in the system, taking small quantities of olive oil and larger quantities of Saffron tea, using elm with same. Small pinches of elm in the water as is taken in the system.
-
Let the diet be those of whole wheat, bran and cereal, with little of the acid fruits, save as the character as found in the ripe pears and apples.
-
Do these. Keep these consistently and persistently in the system, and we will find we will bring the body to the normal forces in three to four moons.
-
The quantity of tea as taken should be about three drams steeped to two glasses of the tea. That is, may steep larger quantities but make it to that proportion in strength.
This should be alternated with the pinch of elm in plain water for the water as taken in the system.
-
Take as much of the oil as the system will assimilate, beginning with not more than half teaspoonful, taken plain.
-
Do that.
-
Correct the condition in the system (that is, the cerebro-spinal system) by the osteopathic manipulation.

R1. 8/12/24 EC’s letter to [3983]:
Dear [3983]:-
I enclose you, herewith, copy of the reading as gotten for your sister, Mrs. [4795], yesterday noon. I am sure from your experience with these readings you will be able to make this mean a great deal more to her than you would under ordinary conditions.
This, seemingly, to me is a very thorough diagnosis. Of course, it is yet to be checked with the symptoms as you and your family know concerning your sister, but I would certainly, were I in your place, arrange to have her take the suggestions as given here full and complete.
I do not know how it will be for her to get the osteopathic treatments. If you are near enough for her to make the trip to Birmingham, I would suggest that she take this directly to Dr. Percy Woodall, First National Bank Building, Birmingham. He has had considerable experience with the readings, and it would be well to show him just the reading as it is.
I certainly am in hopes that she continues to improve, and am very much in hopes that you will not let so long a time elapse between times in letting me hear from you, for I would like very much to keep in touch with you.
As to charges, or bill for this, I do not render any. Of course, it is understood, as I am sure you will, where I give my whole time, as I am at the present, and as you know, it requires the services of at least two others, when we get a copy from same, it is nothing more than right that those we try to help contribute toward same as liberally as their conditions justify. So, this will be left entirely with you.
Be sure and let me hear from you, and tell me something about yourself. How large is your family? How are they all getting along?
With kindest personal regards, I am
Sincerely, EC:GD
R2. 8/28/24 Brother [3983]‘s letter: “My sister’s husband is in tough luck just now so Father and I are sending you $10.00 which I hope will be satisfactory. Mrs. [4795] is improving now. She is taking treatment you prescribed except the osteopath and she is going to Birmingham right away to see the man you referred to in your letter, as soon as she gets arrangements made.”
R3. 9/4/24 EC’s letter to [3983]:
Dear [3983]:-
Yours of the 28th, with enclosure, for which I thank you very much, received. I appreciate the position of your Sister’s husband, but certainly thank you and your Father for being willing to assist me in what I’ve been trying to do at this time. You know, of course, with my giving my whole time to the work, it’s very necessary that I have something to meet the daily needs of myself and family, and of course to get the work correctly I have to have a good stenographer as can be had, and if each one helps me along a little, as they get it, why it makes the right thing all the way around, so I certainly thank you and appreciate the money order sent, for as you know I would love to be able to give all of this gratis, but situated as I am, I can’t do this, for it is “nick and tuck” with me to get along as yet. Sometimes I don’t make ends meet. I’m certainly glad to know that Mrs. [4795] is improving, and I’m very much in hopes that she can be able to make the trip to Birmingham and have Dr. Woodall to give her a few treatments. I am sure she will receive wonderful results from same.
Would certainly like for you to let me know how Mrs. [4795] progresses, and if it is necessary at any time for us to take another reading, that we may check up on the reading, or changes as they develop, you know I’ll be very glad to try and do so.
R4. 6/25/34 Brother [3983]‘s letter reporting on his mother [579]‘s case, whose treatment was being carefully followed with her daughter Mrs. [4795] as the nurse: “My sister, Mrs. [4795], is enjoying good health now.”

B1. 7/22/24 Brother [3983]‘s letter: “I have a sister [4795] that the doctors have given up and say they don’t know what’s the matter with her. So my father (having confidence in your readings) asked me to send you her name for a reading, because she is not going to live long if something isn’t done.”
B2. 8/8/24 Brother [3983]‘s letter: “Doctor at Woodlawn Infirmary Birmingham?] pronounced it stomach trouble. One chiropractor says there is a dislocation in neck. However, she has bad spells of headaches.”
