1. EC: Yes, we have the conditions as surround this body, [4879]. In the general condition, little is seen out of the ordinary, save how the functioning of some glands have affected the body. In the reactions mentally, as related to impulses, these we find do not coordinate with the physical activities of the body. As we find, these produce pressures on the impulsive system.

2. There may be, as we find, little accomplished either though medicinal application or those of a mechanical nature. The greater effect may be accomplished through the subjugation of the conscious forces through an influence over the physical and mental, and through or by the power of suggestion the greater good may be accomplished. Anyone with the proper MOTIVES, then, that may subjugate after several attempts would be able to be most beneficent, or beneficial for this body, [4879].

4. (Q) What suggestion should be given the body? (A) Just plain common sense! Just those as would refer to the conditions in the physical forces of the body, as related to the mental being! Hypnotic influence!

Dear Mr. […]

We are enclosing a copy of the information which we were able to get for your daughter this afternoon. We were surprised at the shortness of the reading, but attribute it to the fact that your daughter is already in a sanitarium. Sometimes the readings will not go into detail so long as the patient is under treatment and care of another sanitarium. However, it is very specific and clear as to the mode of treatment to follow. If there are any questions you would like to ask us concerning the reading, or if we can be of help in any way, please don’t hesitate to write us.

Gentlemen

I have been told of your Hospital there would like to know if you would be able to do some good for me. I have a Daughter that is about 27 years old was married about 7 years ago has a child 6 years old and at the time she became pregnant she became nerves [nervous?] and has remained that way ever since. She is now in a Sanitarium in Baltimore where we reside. She is apparently well eats & sleeps good and is quite [quiet?] in every way but is not able to take care of herself or do any work excepting at times she will. [4879] (?) is well learned having gone through high school and Maryland Institute of Art. If you can do our case any good would like to know how and what we are to do. Trusting to hear from you by early mail with full particulars & thanking you for any advice, I am yours

Dear Mr. […]:-

Replying to yours addressed to the hospital, I am sending you some data concerning our work, which will possibly explain it to you so that you will know just how this is conducted and how it is carried on. I don’t know whether we could be of service or not. We can only judge each case according to the results obtained in some case similar. You will see that the letters cover a period of years, which - of course - are just a few letters, but showing it has been a consistent thing. Read this over, and if you care to make application we will be glad to hear from you.

B3. 11/26/30 EC’s letter to [4879]‘s father:

Dear Mr. […]

Replying to yours of the 18th, we are making the appointment for your daughter’s reading for the afternoon of Friday the 5th, between the hours of 3:00 and 5:00 o’clock Eastern Standard Time. It would be well for you to make a list of questions and send them to us, for us to have asked in the reading - since it will not be possible for you to be present. Questions would clarify the information for yourself, or for those whom you might get to carry out the instructions for her. We have always found it very much more satisfactory for some member of the family to be present at the time of reading. If it is possible for you or your wife to come down at that time, we would be very glad for you to do so. We hope the time set is satisfactory, and that we may be of service.

Please send us at once any questions that you would like to have asked regarding your daughter’s condition, also advise us if she will be at the address given during the hours set.

B4. 11/28/30 Father’s letter:

The Association of National Investigators, Inc. Virginia Beach, Va.

Gentlemen:

Your letter of the 26th to hand and note contents. Also note that you will make the reading for my daughter on the afternoon of December 5th. She will be at the address mentioned before. This is a sanitarium and she is always there unless we take her out for a ride or to a moving picture.

Also note you want me to send you a list of questions. I don’t know what to ask you. You know my daughter’s condition, as I have written you before. If you would suggest any questions, I will be glad to write them out.

Will you please therefore advise me about this by return mail, so I can answer before you making the reading. Naturally I want to know what remedy could be applied to her case, which is my main reason for asking for this reading.

B5. 12/3/30 EC’s letter to [4879]‘s father:

Dear Mr. […]

Replying to yours of the 28th, you will not have time to reply to this before the time set for the reading - but I do not think it is necessary. We will ask any questions that we feel might clear up the information for you. I merely suggested that you make a list of questions, thinking probably you would wish to ask certain questions as to the mode of treatment advised, and so forth. However, the reading itself gives the cause of the trouble and suggests the treatment - and if we can think of any questions at the time that might be helpful we will certainly ask them. Sometimes questions bring out the information more clearly.

We hope that we may be of service. We will send you a copy of the reading as soon as we obtain it.
