This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 26th day of August, 1926, in accordance with request made by Mr. M. B. Wyrick.

Time of Reading 11:50 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Bosque County, Texas.

1. GC: You will give the conditions of operations at the present time, and how the operators may go about to insure the success of these operations, telling us, if possible, just what time this may be expected to be made a producing well.

2. EC: Yes, we have the operations here. These we have had before. The conditions surrounding the operations are gradually straightening themselves out. The preparations for the drilling into the production, and to the lower shales and producing sand, are progressing now in a more satisfactory manner. The setting of that as necessary to prevent casing crumpling, and to cut off the obstructions in cavings, and to insure the success of operations, should be completed now in three and a half days. Then, the drilling in will require about a week to ten days. Then we will find that between the fifteenth and thirtieth of September should make this a producing well, with sufficient production to produce, with acreage and all, fifteen hundred for each dollar already invested. The operations will be successful. The patience will be rewarded - for much has been given, much will be received. Ready for questions. (After pause) The casing is swinging clear, and while some cavings occur with each dumping of the cement, this is decreasing, and the stability of conditions increasing. Follow those suggestions as to time and manner of dumping or pumping same.

Dear Mr. Wyrick:-

I enclose you the reading as gotten this morning. It sounds very interesting, and I’m in hopes will prove to be just the conditions as are existent and will be.

You know we are awfully anxious and will appreciate your letting us hear from you whenever possible.

I’m expecting Mr. Brown from Dayton to see us this afternoon. I only wish that it was possible for you to come in too, for I have many things I’d like to talk over with you.

My dear Cayce,

Glad to hear from you also to receive the readings on well and work.

The well is near if not a failure the casing was run back into the hole as given in previous readings. Saturday the 28th they poured in forty sacks cement run the bailer and found it stopped 100 feet from bottom. For some reason the cement stopped in casing. Now I do not know what we will do. Expect to remove the casing but doubt if we can get cement into bottom without running it thru the casing. I cannot carry on longer so feel that must acknowledge defeat. And that brings me to your problems and the work. With the well failure I will be unable to do for the work what I had hoped to do. So I can only carry on in a small way with those with whom I may come in contact. I wish you well with the organization you propose. While it is not what I was hoping to see, it may yet bend to the more psychic development of the human race. It is through this so called phenomena the conscious mind will be brought to an understanding of the super conscious mind thereby establishing that understandable relation between the physical body and the creative forces. When that is done there will be no need for treating physical ills.

But enough of this now. My mind has undergone radical changes in past few years due very much to the knowledge gained from your readings checked with material exemplifications and my investigations in effort to regain health.

Have been down with the well past few days. Prospects some better than when I wrote you last but we are not out of danger yet, that’s the way it looks to me. If you will please see what you can give on present operations and what we should do next to insure success - seems we have come so near losing it several times I [am] almost afraid to decide on any plan of action. Will be in Chgo. last of week by time reading reaches there. Best wishes

Dear Mr. Wyrick:-

I received yours of the 31st and of the 6th. Should have answered you sooner, but I’ve been kind of “blowed up” some way or another; with all the years and all the trials, I still can’t adjust myself to disappointments, I guess, and I think yours of the 31st just made me feel almost like, “Well, I CAN’T go on,” but I have just felt so sure all the time that this was going to work out, that I just didn’t know how to figure or plan or count on anything without the success of those operations there, and it just seemed like I kind of gave up - wouldn’t anything work - I could neither sleep nor eat, for I couldn’t digest anything. Just a nervous collapse. For a week or more I haven’t been able to do anything - not even for myself, but I’m feeling a whole lot better now - seem to have gotten myself in hand, and I am in hopes that everything is going to work out alright.

I certainly do hope that you are going to have the opportunity to get down this way sometime in the near future, so that we can talk things over. There is a whole lot I’d like to talk to you about - a whole lot of things that sometimes worry me, about the work, and about the way to handle it - so many different phases of it seem to present themselves, and I know that you have given all of it a great deal of study. We are having a demonstration of it, in a way, that to our own minds will verify a great many phases of it, and it is with our most precious possession - our boy [HLC]. I think he has studied the work more than anyone under ordinary circumstances, and while he’s very young, and he is entering into his college work and in same he may be taught or trained to think along different lines, still this seems to have already mapped out certain conditions that I know he will be on the lookout for, and for the last two or three years it seems to have checked so thoroughly that I know that it is bound to influence his life a very great deal. Naturally, his mother and I are rather anxious, and it’s about these conditions, as well as the rest of the things, that I’d like to talk to you about. If the information that we have gotten is true, it is the most natural thing in the world for us to desire to counsel with you, and if it is true again, no one could counsel us quite as well as you! So you see how we feel. I don’t mean, of course, in any way except that exchange of ideas and ideals, that really is the foundation of all buildings, whether of the material earthly structures, or of our bodies whose minds sway individuals, groups, classes, nations - just as Mussolini’s is at present. So you know I’m anxious to see you.

Well, I am glad to know that your stay at the well seemed to indicate that there were still yet some prospects. I’m wondering what the people at Clerburne told you. Would you mind telling me?

I should have gotten this reading to you before this, and would have, but as I told you, I have been unable to do anything until the last day or two, and of course the first thing I wanted to do was to get myself straight.
