R1. 1/26/44 Mrs. Frank Clay’s letter:
“I am Johnie Massey Clay and we [my sister and I] both knew you during the days you lived in Bowling Green. You gave a reading for our father, also for a Mrs. [4940] in our home. Afterward we were present in a reading for a blind girl, a Miss [4941], and also a reading in search of a lead mine on the [4941] place. In all these readings I served as stenographer and, from then till now have had profound faith in this wonderful power which you possess, and have always believed, and do now, that the Lord is trying to give the world something wonderful through you and, except for the denseness and the bigotry of the mind of man, the world would have more understanding of it by now.”
