R1. 1/24/21 Husband’s letter: “To Whom It May Concern: This is to certify that Mr. Edgar Cayce gave several psychic readings a few weeks ago in Birmingham in my presence in connection with making diagnosis and outlining courses of treatment for each individual case. One case was that of my wife, [4955], who at the time was in Kentucky about four hundred miles distant. Since the reading was given, Mrs. [4955], after some delay, has had a thorough examination made and found that the generative organs were involved and diseased, just as Mr. Cayce’s reading explained. One of the physicians who made the examination told me that Mr. Cayce’s diagnosis was very accurate; that his psychic powers in this connection were in evidence and beyond question… [He reports on his little boy’s reading, 4956-1, etc.] There is no question in my mind as to Mr. Cayce’s psychic powers, and as to his honesty and sincerity there is not a shadow of a doubt. I have abundant evidence to confirm this belief.” [He has the above letter witnessed by a Notary Public.]
R2. GD’s note: 1/22/21 Mr. [4959] mentions being present at the above reading.
R3. 1/22/21 Reporter’s letter [Miss [4958]‘s brother]: “In another reading Dr. […] [a Birmingham optometrist]‘s wife [4955] was advised to undergo an operation. In his clairvoyant condition Mr. Cayce described a previous operation to which Mrs. [4955] was subjected, but none of the auditors knew anything of the malady until Dr. […] [Mrs. [4955]‘s husband] himself, who was not present, verified the truth of the reading.”
R4. 12/41 Letters of Mrs. [2457] and her daughter Miss [259] mention visiting Dr. […] and his daughter and son [4956] and indicate that Mrs. [4955] had died about a year before that date.
