Reports & Follow-up
R1. 1/22/22 Mr. [1868]‘s letter: “On or about March 5, 1917 I took a reading from Mr. Cayce on the condition of my father [4971] about which condition EC had no previous information.
“The reading described the disease with which my father was affected exactly, which was in non-technical terms a cancer. Mr. Cayce made a statement that the bladder, stomach, kidneys were affected and that the only cure would have been an operation by the Mayo Bros. and a substitution of the diseased parts from some living animal. We were unable to convince my mother [242] that this course was practical so the disease developed rapidly and was fatal within sixty days of the reading.
“During the year 1916 (?) my sister [4953] was visiting in North Carolina and we had been unable to hear from her for about ten days. After sending several telegrams and receiving no answer we asked Mr. Cayce for a reading. Mr. Cayce told us there had been an accident and that a letter was then at our home explaining the matter. We immediately telephoned and found that such was the case and that our sister would be delayed several days more from a fall while horseback riding.
“We [[1868] & [228]] have taken a great number of readings from Mr. Cayce and have found that in practically all instances where his directions were followed explicitly, as in a case under my personal knowledge of Mr. [4959] of Bessemer, Ala., results have been phenomenal.
“I have read a number of letters from all over the U.S. stating that writers have been cured by following his directions.”
